I kind of feel the same way. So many people are enjoying the resorts, rides, and attractions that originally all started with his ideas, but they almost have to grab people in off the street to come in to this place. Not that they mean anything by it, of course, but it does seem a little unappreciative, in a way, not to check it out at least occasionally. You know - just to remember that all of this fun wouldn't be here without the beginnings that it had.
Aw, I love One Man's Dream! A lot of people don't even bother going in there but it's so worth it. I don't have a really specific memory, but we went in there twice in 2005 - once to all see the exhibits, and once my mom and I just saw the movie at the end while my dad and Mike did something else (I completely forgot what!) It was nice just relaxing out of the heat and getting to know more about the amazing person who created everything we love so much:
this is one of my favorite attractions in all of WDW! i just love it. i don't have a particular special memory of it except that i always cry at the end of the movie.![]()
I can't wait to try this in April!![]()
So many people don't have the same appreciation for Walt as we do, its a shame.![]()
Awww One Man's Dream.I find it so inspiring... We always remember to say, "Thank you, Walt!"
I've never seen it crowded, but I think it is such a nice tribute to him.
Maelstrom-My favorite memory of this one is from our 1998 trip when I was in junior high. Epcot was doing this thing at the time where each WS country picked a "family of the day" every day, and we were picked to be the family of the day in Norway. It was so fun, one of the Norwegian CMs was our tour guide for the day, we got a guided tour of the pavilion including free snacks from the bakery and we got to go right to the front of the line and ride Maelstrom with the CM, who was super sweet. We had a great day with her, she was so nice and hugged us good-bye. That is definitely my favorite memory of that attraction!
One Man's Dream-We talked about this one in my TR, tink! I love spending time here, my favorite visit was two years ago seeing Walt's school desk from when he was little. Being a teacher and Disney nut, it just stood out to me among all the cool stuff. Definitely a great way to tribute him!
I 100% agree with you on On Man's Dream. Walt was such an amazing man and without his dream there would be no WDW. I wish more people felt the same way we do.
I could just picture you freaking out thinking you're going to die or something! Too funny girl

I'm in class right now dont think I ignored your text!![]()
the funniest memory i have of the safari is when erica and i rode it last september and we asked to sit in the back so we could get pictures behind us. little did we know it was VERY bumpy back there. my butt was flying off the seat by at least 12 inches!!! we were cracking up because we were the only two back there and we were bouncing around like crazy!
a not-so-good memory is when ray and i rode it last april and the kid behind me kept SCREAMING in my ear and hitting me in the head with his finger when he'd point something out to his parents, who wouldn't make him sit down the entire ride, so he was literally RIGHT behind my head. oh, i was so mad!!! another reason people should have to pass an intelligence test before they procreate.
We got picked for family of the day when were were at a character meet and greet. They had that double decker bus out where you can meet tons of characters, and CMs from the different countries were walking around picking people out of the crowd to be there family of the day. Just being in the right place at the right time I guess!
OK, Kilimanjaro Safari...My favorite memory is of our 2005 trip when our jeep got stopped by a rhino who decided to lay down in the middle of the road, right on the path that all the safari cars have to take! Our driver was beeping, but he wouldn't move! We sat there for about 5 mins, the whole ride was getting all backed up, when an ostrich walks over to our parked car and starts checking us all out. The rhino finally decided to move at that point, I think to try and chase the ostrich![]()
I freaked out the first time the bridge started shaking too! For some reason I don't think they do the bridge part every time, when we were there in January we just drove over it and nothing happened! So weird.
Haha, that's so funny about the rhino! We had to stop one time for an ostrich..She came up to the car and our driver introduced us to her.She only had one eye so they named her "One-Eyed Mary".
That is weird that they don't do the bridge part every time!![]()
Yeah, I don't know if it's because they were trying to move the ride along? Their was another jeep RIGHT behind us, and the driver was moving along unusually fast throughout the entire ride. I felt a little jipped! lol
Attraction of the Day...
One Man's Dream
Our first time going through this, we were in awe of everything in there! We stayed and watched the movie at the end, and it was so great! We still spend so much time looking through everything in there. It's a shame that so many people just walk on by this. I love going to One Man's Dream because in a way, I feel like I'm paying a tribute to Walt. He was a great man.
Attraction of the Day...
Kilomanjaro Safari
Oh man, I love this ride! I will never forget our first time on it after AK opened..we got to the part where the bridge "starts to collapse" and we start shaking and have to speed off..I freaked out! Haha. I love it when you get to the big open savanna and they start the music..Makes me feel like I'm in the Lion King.
