~Our June '09 adventure~ I'm home! Started TR 7/2

We fly down and it only takes 1 hour and 59 minutes :)

Question of the Day...

Do you fly or drive to WDW? How long does the flight or drive take you?

the last time i flew to WDW was 1984. it was our first trip. if i remember correctly, it took us about 2 hours to fly from nashville.

so obviously i drive now. from my driveway it's exactly 500 miles to the WDW gates and it usually takes us about 7.5 hours.

FLY! My psycho overprotective parents would never let me drive when I go with friends but they are too busy with other things to take the time to drive when I actually DO get them to go. It takes me around 2 hours depending if I'm flying from school or home.

PS I'm TOTALLY thinking of going down for like, 2 days while you will be there! School is almost over and my family is stressing me out and I just need to get away!! If I decide to come then we must meet up!

Sorry, don't know what LGMH means. :confused3 But yes! I know what you & your family looks like, so I will keep my eyes peeled. I am going to actually start putting things in suitcases tomorrow. Right now it is gathered in bags all over my house. Not very organized at all!

QOTD - We always fly. Since we live in California it is a whole day process between flight & layovers. I hate the time it takes, but it is worth it.

Lime Green Mickey Head - from Home Depot paint samples. Disers use them to identify other Disney-crazies.

tinkgurl - You guys just say a time for the hippo meet. Somewhere between 6 and 7, I'm guessing? It looks like it'll be Jill, me, and the girls, Dawn, Erica, and maybe Stasieki. We'll just say hello, get a picture, and wish you guys well as you continue on your way to Disney World. Jill and I will walk around the mall once before we leave to run through the Disney Store and let Brooklynn ride the carousel. By then, it'll be time to get the girls back home and in bed. Dawn said she is probably going out to eat dinner with her brother, since he'll be seeing Margot that day. Not sure about Erica. Stasieki will be in the process of moving, so she said she may or not be there, depending on what is going on with that.

Flying or driving - we do a little of both, but are becoming a little spoiled to flying. It seems like it's been relatively reasonable for us to fly lately, and it sure is nice to be sitting under a Disney palm tree about three hours after we leave as opposed to eleven hours after we leave!

We fly! I don't know if I'll ever drive down again LOL we did it the first time we ever went to FL when I was 7 and my brother was 4 and I don't remember much except that I slept through half of Virginia, all of NC and half of SC because I get car sick and my parents gave me dramamine :rotfl:

So ever since then we fly and it takes like 2.5 hrs or so. One day I will move to like North or South Carolina and drive and go to WDW like 3 or 4 times a yr :cloud9: :goodvibes

Wow, that had to have been a LONG drive! That's not too bad of a flight!

Haha, I want to move closer too.

Drive because it's only 2 1/2 hours for us. :goodvibes

I just realize we'll be at OKW at the same time. :cutie: We'll be there the 29th & 30th for the first time.

Haha, I saw that we're at OKW the same time too on the Official June Thread! :woohoo:

I'm not a big fan of flying, but that's the only way to go. There is NO WAY I would ever drive to Florida. We drove on my first two trips, but I was 2yo and 5 yo. I don't even remember it. For our upcoming trip, we have a direct flight from Buffalo to Orlando. We take off at 7am and are scheduled to land at 9:36am. You just can't beat that! Back in Jan, we had about a 1 hour layover at JFK (the new JetBlue terminal is AMAZING!). I think we left Buffalo around 7:30am and landed sometime between 10:30 and 11am.

JetBlue is amazing and I highly recommend it if it's in your area. There are tv's at every seat with 30+ DirecTv channels. Plus, there are like 100 XM satelite radio stations! You get unlimited FREE snacks and my DH just loves that they serve Dunkin Donuts coffee. The best part is, you can watch tv while taking off and landing. No waiting until they give the "all clear" for electronic devices. I think that is what helped put me at ease. I really don't like taking off, but I was distracted this time which was very nice.

Wow, that's a pretty good flight! Whoa, JetBlue sounds NICE!

We fly. It's about 2 1/2 hours for us. This might sound crazy but I think it might be fun to drive some day. Of course if I ever did that I would stay a lot longer than 4 days!

Me and you aren't that far away, so we have about the same flight time! It is fun to drive!

Sorry, don't know what LGMH means. :confused3 But yes! I know what you & your family looks like, so I will keep my eyes peeled. I am going to actually start putting things in suitcases tomorrow. Right now it is gathered in bags all over my house. Not very organized at all!

LGMH means lime green Mickey head. :)

Wow, that has to be a long flying day!

Fly!!!! It is about a 2 1/2 hour flight. To drive it would take about 20 hours.

You are almost gonna be there!!!!! I wish I was!

Ew...I say no to driving! Haha.

I know, I can't believe it! When I'm at 1900 PF, I'll be thinking of you and Juliana!

We fly down and it only takes 1 hour and 59 minutes :)

Woo! Nice!

Oh that would be soo nice.. only an hour and 59 minutes!!! i'm jealous!!

Haha, yeah no kidding.

That's not bad of a drive if you leave early in the a.m.!

Okay, I'm trying to guess a time..I just don't really know...maybe between 6 and 7? I know that doesn't help..but if I'm not at the hippo when you guys meet up, look for me when you walk around the mall! I'll be there somewhere!

Question of the Day...

What is your funniest WDW moment? Something that happened to you, someone you were with, or someone you witnessed!

Jill is leaving for Ohio this morning, so she may not check in here, but I'm betting if she gets on she's going to think of the same two things I'm thinking of.

First - when I fell flat on my face at Hollywood Studios as we were leaving the park late at night.
She not only thought that was funny, she reenacted it for me to be sure I knew what I looked like.

Second - when she cracked up all the way through Barnstormer as she watched Brooklynn ride it for the first time. Her sweet little face turned every shade of red and purple imagineable and she was terrified. It was funny and sickening all at the same time. Do you remember seeing those pictures on the report?
Those were two traumatic events that she seemed to find extremely funny.

I didn't laugh either time. :rolleyes1

I don't have one. :confused3

Well what is your all time favorite ride in WDW?

Question of the Day...

What is your funniest WDW moment? Something that happened to you, someone you were with, or someone you witnessed!

This just happened in January. We were at the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor and they were talking to a little girl. She was wearing the headband with the sparkly Mickey heads on it. The monster asked her why she chose those and she said she didn't know. Then, all of a sudden, my face was on the screen. I was wearing my Minnie Mouse headband. The monster then said, "It could be worse. You could have 4 ears!" I was a bit embarrassed, but I was laughing pretty hard too. Needless to say, when we went back there on our 2nd MK day, I took them off before we went in. :rotfl2:

Hmmm.... probably just my family doing the Vacation Dance  You might remember from my last report that my family has a tradition of picking a spot and all dancing for the camera as the vacation dance on every trip. We've randomy danced on the monoral, on the path to the parking lot at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, on the movign walkways at CityWalk in Universal... hilarious!!!

It's awesome lol. So glad it's not that long.

This past trip, the last time Tim and I went on Splash, on the last drop we got soaked!!!! We just looked at each other and started cracking up sooo much. See we did not get wet at all during the whole ride so we thought we were all good. Well we had all adults in our boat, and we were in the front. So there was a lot of weight in our boat.

I don't think i've stopped by your PTR in a while cause i've missed all these question. Gosh you must be getting so excited now only 10 days till you leave I'd be bouncing of the walls :rotfl:

Question of the Day...

Since I leave in 12 days, I have to ask...What are some must-have things you bring with you to the parks?

Without a doubt most importantly Camera, makeup and hairbrush (after getting off some rides, the first thing you need to do is fix your hair ) i also like to have some sweets in my bag, some medication i need and of course tickets, money & what ever else is in my purse (credit cards, driving license etc)

Question of the Day...

Do you fly or drive to WDW? How long does the flight or drive take you?

Well i cant drive, unless my car grows wings :rotfl: and flys and maybe floats across the atlantic, so flying is my way to 'The World' and it takes around 9-10 hours

I can't actually think of one :confused3

Funniest moment?! Probably when this hilbilly lady started talking to my friend and I when we were looking at the Tye-Dye Cheesecake at POP. She said in this crazy accent "WHAT GOES IN MUST GO OUT, GIRLS!!! DON'T LOOK BACK!!!" Gross but HILARIOUS because I'm pretty sure she had a 90's rat tail, too.

Ok i haven't gotten to this part on my TR but I'll say it anyway.

Chris and I had just finished dinner at Mama Melrose and needed to walk around a little to digest so we went into the Muppets souvenir store thats over there. Chris walks in and puts these little kid Mickey ears on his head (which he already has a huge head to begin with) and makes this face and puts his chin down to make him have a HUGE double chin and looks at me to take a picture. I was laughing so hard I was crying. I couldn't keep my hands still to take the picture but I eventually calmed down and took it. OMG thinking of it now its making me laugh :rotfl:

Hmm, I'm sure there have been a lot of funny things to happen at WDW but I am having trouble thinking of one! :confused3 But I do remember on our trip last May we saw Push the talking trash can. He was talking to this one little girl who had obviously just been to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique so her hair was all sparkly. Push said "It looks like Tinkerbell sneezed on your head."

Oh goodness, do I have hilarious stories for you. Both my boyfriend and best friend are quite the comedians.

Back in 2006 for my best friend's birthday in October we decided to go to Animal Kingdom and Epcot. At AK we went on Primeval Whirl, since I had never been on it. If you have never been on this ride, 4 people sit in two sets of seats so my bff and I sat together and then these two teen girls sat in the other two seats. In order to fully appreciate the lols I have to explain that my best friend is a tall guy at 6'4 and I have huuuge hips and a butt that goes on for days, so we were super squished together in this little two-person seat. So the ride started and it was pretty tame...until it started thrashing us around and my best friend's *ahem* "boys" started getting crushed and he was yelping out like a hurt puppy in between all the laughter. I was laughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face. Even the two teen girls with us were roaring with laughter. The way my best friend walked off of the ride was priceless. :rotfl:

Later that same day we were at EPCOT just walking around when we both started noticing the amount of creepy men were staring at my chest had increased exponentially (it happens a lot, the "girls" are big ) It was getting super annoying and I was feeling creeped out so the bff in order to make me laugh about it leaned over to me and started singing "Private Eyes" by Hall & Oates, namely the part that goes "private eyes, are watching you" *clap clap* :rotfl2: Yes, he even did the clap. I was laughing so hard, the creepers probably thought I was going nuts.

This isn't so much a story as it is a picture...

That was taken at MVMCP 2008 on the teacups
My boyfriend was trying to make the teacups as "brutal" as possible like he always does while I was laughing hysterically like I always do. We ended up so dizzy that I literally fell out of the teacups like a drunk.

Ok, I think I wrote enough. I have many, many more stories because like I said, my boyfriend is an absolute riot. :lmao:

Oh my gosh! How'd you fall?!

Haha, I remember!

I don't have one. :confused3

Well what is your all time favorite ride in WDW?

Oh my gosh, my all time favorite ride? I love BTMRR. It just makes me laugh and then that gets my Mom and Sis and B/F laughing too.
