Monday 5th May 2008 A full day at sea and our last day.
We agreed to meet at 9.00am this morning and head up to Windjammers for breakfast. We all settle for something different to eat I have the healthy option (cant seem to break the habit). Once breakfast completed, Rick and I have a go at ice skating. Were not on the ice for very long, in fact it takes longer to sign the waiver and put on our boots, but at least we can say that we have skated on the ocean! We both agree that it was a lot of fun watch out for the video footage. Next on the agenda is the pointy end photo shots top of the world Ma! Still very windy, but as I have trousers on today there is no chance of me flashing!
A quick browse of the shops for Bev, Nicola and I, whilst Rick and Dave go off to shoot some video footage around the ship. We all meet up in the Schooner Bar for a round of Trivia and Dave goes off to do a bit more filming. Following the general knowledge trivia which we lose and as the photo gallery is just through the casino, choices are made on the photos we will purchase. We also have to also collect some photos that were ordered a couple of days ago.
After a quick trip to Windjammers for a small snack at lunchtime the camera crew take off again as Bev and I have an appointment with Bingo for a the chance of a free cruise. Our bingo card was another free gift from RCCL. Again no luck, so we head out to meet the boys in the Schooner Bar for our 2nd round of Trivia.
It is obviously not our day today, as we dont come close to wining the leather travel document wallets!
At 2.30pm, a dance class is about to start so us Girls quickly descend into the darkness of Labyrinth, one of the Discos, to learn some line dancing, one of which was the Electric Slide. Our attempts to line dance are caught on film by Mr Miller, but we enjoy it all the same.
Dave went back to the cabin earlier for an afternoon nap and we all shortly follow his lead and agree to meet at 4.45pm. We have all been invited to the soft opening of the new ice show Freeze Frame. I have to say that this show was as good as the last one and a great addition to the entertainment on board.
The show finished just in time for the start of main dining, so we dont delay and head into our dining room, King Lear. Good meal again tonight Caesar Salad to start, Deep Fried Mahi Mahi with vegetables and then Key Lime Pie for dessert see video footage.
With dinner over, we say goodbye to the servers and have some time to spare before the main show starts at 9.00pm, so we head into the Pyramid Lounge. The show tonight in the main theatre is called Headline? It is really good, but not as good as weve seen earlier on. Once the show is over, our group makes its way back into the Pyramid lounge to wait for the parade to start at 10.45pm. Bev, Nicola and I watch (we have seen the preview yesterday) Excellent but a bit crowded.
Rick and I call it a day at 11.30pm as we still have to pack and, on returning to the cabin, we find that we still have not received a refund on our account, so Rick has to head back to guest services whilst I continue with the packing. This completed, we retire for the night and I have just enough energy to summarize the days activities. Our last free gift from RCCL was a DVD of the weeks activities onboard. Not bad, when we were thinking of purchasing a copy, and it would have cost about $30.
