This was not our first WDW trip, but we had several other "first's"! Our first on site stay at CSR, our first CP and first MVMCP!
On Thursday we eneded up having to leave on the 6:20AM (Groan!) flight from Atlanta. I was flying on my brother's buddy passes from Delta and you have to fly when there is space. This ended up a benefit! More time at the resort. I had called Tiffany Town car the evening before to alert them to the sudden change in schedule. The "no problem mon" agent was more concerned with the return flight than the arrival. It showed in the fact the WERE NOT there and we had to call for them to come pick us up! About 35min later they did show! We stopped at the Kash and Karry for groceries. Just some drinks, snacks and breakfast items (doughnuts and muffins). This turned out better for us than purchasing the resort mugs.
We arrived about 9:30am and our room was READY!! I had phoned the resort 3 days prior to make a request of room of a corner room in buildings 8a, 8b or 9b. We got in building 8B rm 8670. I had an AP discount on a standard view, but the room did face the water. By 10:30am we were pool side! The kids really enjoyed the slide and the pool. Had lunch by poolside from the pool snack bar.
After an afternoon nap we headed over to DD. Our first bus experience was great! The bus was just pulling up as we arrived at the bus stop! We ate at WolfGang Pucks and it was fantastic! My kids had burgers, my DH sushi (7 on a scale of 10), and I had the baby spinach salad with blue cheese and pecans that was to die for! Also a triple mushroom pizza that I couldn't finish. A waiter let a ketchup cup fall on the floor and splatter on my son's clothes. They did right by us and gave us his meal free! (though it was a kids meal!) We then went to Disney Quest. My kids (and DH and I) love this place! All the games you want for the admission (now about $30!), and since I bought PAP's in July it really makes it worth it! We ended up leaving close to 11pm and headed back on the bus to CSR!
Friday we headed over to MGM. Again just a short wait for the bus. We headed straight for the Big Hat to purchace the Magic Moments pins and got the free Internet pin. We purchaced 3, the castle, the 100 and the hat one. The had a camera crew there filming some preshow stuff for the Regis visit next week. After TGMR, we headed over to TOT! Got a FP but the regular line had NO WAIT! Went straight to the preshow. We had an 12n PS for Sci-Fi drivein for lunch. I had a cajun grouper with lime fries that was very tasty. We also had shakes (regular kind!) It was a neat concept but My kids are "tube zombies" and I had to keep reminding them to eat!
Back over to TOT and R&RC. We rode TOT twice w/o a wait. My kids rode R&RC 3 times with hardly a wait. Then we watched the Motor Cars parade. Very neat to see all the characters. We did the IJ show, Star tours, Muppets, Backstage tour (all kids choices!) I missed out on Walt's Dream but we will be back the end of the month and I'll catch it then! I had my kids pic's taken with Buzz and Woody.
We had dinner at 50's Prime time. It was good and our waiter was not too "annoying!" We then went to view the Osborne lights. There was "snow" falling on NY street. It was a little crowded getting to the lights but the area they are on (part of the BST) is a beautiful sight. The 3-D glasses make little "angels" around the lights. "Peace on Earth" is a very appropriate theme. We left MGM and went back to DQ. Even on a Friday night this place was not real crowded. We did the Create a Coster from start to finish in about 20 min. I tried to post from the internet cafe but had a lot of trouble getting it to work! By 11:30 we had had enough and went back to CSR!
I had not seen any fellow Green Ribboned DIS'ers yet, but maybe tomorrow at EPCOT!
