our haunted hotel room

Cool. I would love to experience the paranormal. Especially at WDW.

I am intrigued.

On a different note, I have told my kids that I want to be cremated and then my ashes spread on the lawn in front of the Haunted Mansion.
999 happy haunts, but there is always room for one more.....

Although, as I recall, that 1000th spot was auctioned off for charity. You're going to have to beat the guy who's got it reserved.

I worked in hotels for years. Every hotel has got a room or two that is "haunted."

Working the midnight shift, I was tasked with creating a guidebook. I put on the front cover, "Unexplained noises are best left unexplained."

Getting OT here, but here's one of my haunted stories.

Worked at a small hotel where I checked in this creepy woman. She gave me a credit card and requested that we not clean the room... just leave towels at the door. Not totally uncommon.

After a week, accounting freaked out because her bill was piling up. The hotel was used to people staying for a night or two, so we arranged with her to come once a week and close out the credit card.

A few weeks later, a maid accidentally went into her room to clean it. Where to start. She'd been slaughtering small animals in the bathtub... blood and bodies everywhere. There was satanic writing all over the walls and a pentagram on the table. There was a mysterious "goo" on the tv, phone, and AC unit.

The manager called the police, but by the time they got there, the woman was already back in the room- locked in. They ended up breaking in and dragging her out. The manager didn't want to press charges, he just wanted her gone, so off she went.

The room went into "maintenance" and ultimately they pretty much gutted it and replaced everything.

We later heard from the woman's mother, who had the exact same name. It was actually her credit card that was being used and she'd just received the first bill. The daughter had escaped from a psych facility and had many "things" wrong with her.

So.. the room gets gutted and fixed. But now there are problems.

- The empty room likes to call the front desk switchboard. No one's there, you can just hear an empty room in the background.
- The water in the shower and sink turns on in the middle of the night.
- Over the years, I had guests who checked in and immediately returned to the front desk asking for another room. They just didn't "like" that room.
- Guests who stayed experienced the phone ringing, the tv going on and off, and the AC acting crazy (remember, all of these things had been replaced and were not the previous "goo covered" equipment).
- Once or twice, guests checked out in the middle of the night for no reason.

I've got more from other hotels. I could write a book.

Sounds to me that there was a power surge in the server room of the hotel. The phones are probably on a Citrix system and if there is a power failure there is a re-boot of the entire system. Some phones may ring and other may not. Some times it's at random. Thing is that if there are recurring power failures in a short period of time and one of them is longer than a few minutes, it would reset things like the Microwave and you would get the error reading.

I highly expect the only thing haunted is the Citrix system. I think they are all evil.

Ugh, this would be a vacation nightmare for me. We have a spirit in our home, which bothers me each and every night by the way, and I am looking forward to getting away from "it" on our vacation. The last thing I need is another one bugging me!! :rotfl2:

Interesting, I'd be less surprised to find the older resorts such as the Polynesian or Contemporary were haunted.

Thanks I'm staying at the Contemporary, it is bad enough about the snake there, I don't need anything else freaking me out. :scared1: So glad DH is home or I would have had to go to my sisters for the night. Very active imaganation.:confused3

Although, I don't rule out that ghosts or the afterlife exist. This in no way indicates that your room was haunted. This is extremely common with electrical surges. It happens all the time in houses and hotels.

Now if you saw an appiration or solid objects moving, that might be more convincing.

People always assume a place is haunted way too fast these days. It must be all the reality paranormal shows. With all these shows, I haven't seen one yet that has any real proof.

But it does make for a fun story. Sorry for being a party pooper.

If the ghost is an adult ghost do you have to pay an additional nightly fee for him/her? :rotfl::rotfl:

On a different note, I have told my kids that I want to be cremated and then my ashes spread on the lawn in front of the Haunted Mansion.

Better un-tell them that, because it's illegal to spread ashes on private property unless you own it or have permission from the owner, and Disney doesn't give it. You can't spread it on public lands in Florida either.

DinUnc. You just reminded me.

I did see a few in the Haunted Mansion. It really freaked me out. I know most of them were fake, but on the way out, I swear I saw one in my car. I left feeling very unsettled and I didn't say anything to anyone in my family beause I was afraid they would think I was nuts.

:scared1: DONT TELL ANYBODY....You shouldn't have even posted THAT. They will have you committed.:scared1:
