Our happy place & Dream Bday trip 3/29-4/9/11 UPDATE PG 44 - Final Day !!

Two more days left? Really? Why did it seem like the trip reporting is going so fast. S-t-r-e-t-c-h it out. LOL.

I am hoping to finish the TR before we leave on 7/7 for NY....I think I've stretched it out pretty good it will be three months tomorrow that we left! besides I didn't want to do a "Tim"

just got all caught up and loving it! looks like such an amazing time!! seems like you all got to do so much, yet went at such a relaxed pace

it really was aan amazing trip! there were still things we missed...oh well next trip!....BTW which is coming sooner that we thought....we are going back something in OCT more on that later!

Lisa, first and foremost, congrats to Megan on her graduation. You have every right to be extremely proud of her!

I love all your photos of the AKL. I just showed Mark the picture of the giraffe resting and told him I was NOT leaving my balcony for two days/two nights...I'm just going to sit there and watch.

Love your fireworks with friends and the great cake you ordered for the special events.

It really was hard to leave "my baby giraffe" he was so cute...everyone morning he would nap in the sun! I would get my coffee and enjoy the peacefullness and quiet!
Our firework night was so fun, I really wanted to help make the night a celebration....ordered the cake from Brian at the CR Bakery, was really good!!
Yes we love our DIS friends....our "family in the box"

I loved reliving our safari through your photos. And from the shots taken from your balcony I finally have seen a red river hog. They were kept in their barn when we were there in December because of the cold temperatures.

The "thank you cake" you ordered brought tears to my eyes. You are so thoughtful.

the hogs were out every day....sorry you missed them!

Gosh I am a goose...I thought I responded on here about these incredible pics...must have been my ptr, or a PM or I dreamed it in my heat delirium...

I LOVE all of the photos...first Megan's graduation (which you already know form the PM, the children LOVED seeing all of the amazing photos form that day and Animal Kingdom...I am DROOLING! HOw INCREDIBLE to be able to enjoy all of those animals right fro your room! The kids would be in heaven and if I could afford to THAT is where I would stay our extra four days! (Nah, I would still pick a monorail hotel due to the ease of using Lisa's wheelchair). I got a bit misty looking at the cake in JIm's honor to share with great friends...what a VIEW to see the fireworks! (Anyone else going when we are so I can come visit????) Simply AMAZING!!!!

going to see Cars2 today then a BBQ at friends tonight!!!

Megan dreams big! It would be great to stay at either of those. GF at Christmas time is especially beautiful. With the gingerbread house, Christmas decs, etc.

Let me know how Cars 2 is! Anakin wants to see it. If there is much suspence or anything bad happens to the main characters, please pm me!

Friends of ours who really enjoyed Cars did not like Cars 2. However their grandchildren - ages 3, 5, 7 & 10 all seemed to enjoy it.

The only way we managed the Poly (garden view) in 2009 was that we got the 4/7 deal. Being on the monorail and also walking distance to the TTC for the Epcot monorail made it so convienent since we had our two granddaughters with us. How nice that you get to return to any WDW resort in Oct!

We have breakfast at 1900 Park Fare this morning!

we took the boat over from MK....

our breakfast companions...

Megan got a cupcake from our server, but no "Happy Birthday" song...

breakfast was okay....not like it used to be, but still a fun way to start our morning!

finished up and headed back to MK on the boat...

we were meeting up with Shawna, Ryan and Ansley for a full day at MK!!! with a bit of a break in the afternoon for tea at the Grandview Tea room...

We have never been to 1900 Park Fare. Did you enjoy your breakfast? I think Mark would get a kick out of the Mad Hatter, and I'd be happy with Pooh and Tigger.

This was our last full day in WDW and spent it in MK! we had a fun day with Shawna and her kids!

up first meeting the mouse himself

then we headed out for some rides!

Megan rode Space Mountain for the first time and LOVED IT...her new favorite!!!

I took the kids on the Tea Cups....Shawna gets to dizzy on them...got them spinning pretty good if I saw so!

we road on Buzz and the People Mover went to the Laugh Floor before watching Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It!

The Dream Along with Mickey was starting soon, so we found a place to sit and had a snack before the show started

we said our good-byes for a bit....we have ADR's for tea at GF....took the boat back over to the GF....

OH!!! 1900 Park Fare. I made an ADR for August because JJ wants to do a character meal. I see it was just okay. What was on the menu? What made it different from the past? Goofy will be looking for biscuit and gravy. Was that on the buffet?

Looks like the kids enjoyed each other's company!

Tea Time.....it was a nice break from the heat and park! yummy scones and berries with cream!

took the boat back to MK....we never did ride the Monorail this trip at all

we had time before we were meeting back up with Shawna and her family so we rode the train around the park and did some window shopping

went on IASM and the Carrousel

it was time to meet Shawna over at POTC....we rode on that and then headed over to BTMRR!!!

guess what happend......when we were going up the big hill both Shawna and I heard a funny click noise and a couple minutes later......we STOPPED!!! this was the first time Megan and I were on a ride when it broke down!!!
took the opportunity to take some fun photos

the CM's got us safely off the ride along the catwalk and we all received special FP for any ride! it was a cool way to get to see the ride!!

the Haunted Mansion was next up...we loved the new queue!!

Bruce took the kids over to ride Space Mountain again while Shawna and I found spots on Main Street to watch the Main St Electrical Parade and a chance to talk!

Lights and Wishes

I love the Electric Parade....saw it for the first time in DLR in 1975 so has great childhood memories for me!!!

I didn't take any photos of Wishes this time....was great to watch the whole show without the camera in front of my face!!

We stayed a bit to wait for the crowds to disperse, said our good-byes and headed back to AKL!

Having our friends to share this trip with us was so wonderful and fun!!!

One more day of magic to come......

The food is good, just seems different from our last trip in 08! I'm not a huge fan of buffet's, but love the character interaction....The Mad Hatter is a lot of fun....Pooh actually came back a second time while we where there for extra hugs!!

I was hoping the Mat Hatter would come sing to her...he did one time in DLR...the food is good for a buffet, but as I stated above I'm not a huge buffet fan....I believe there was biscuit's and gravy..other items I can remember:
Ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, french toast, potato au gratin, salad, fruit, strawberry soup, cereal, a couple other dishes I can't remember, think there was some sort of fish dish, pastries, and there is also a kid's section I know it had eggs& mickey waffles.
the kids had so much fun together! was like they had known each other for ever!

I did miss your first post....they are there for breakfast only!!
the tea was wonderful! its something everyone should try to do at least once, not sure if we'd do it again though! yes is was Stilton Blue cheese, I only ate one slice though, was way to much, though very yummy! but the strawberries and devonshire cream where our favorites, could of eaten 3 of those!!!
we really did have a great time with our friends! and the evac was FUN!!! there were some teenagers behind us and wanted to know why Shawna and I were taking photos....hello, when you get the opportunity of something unexpected at Disney, you take photos
hope you get to see the parade....it's not Spectro Magic, but I still love it
