Our Halloween Pop adventure with a 32 year old Disney Newbie -Trip report link pg. 34

Sorry about the mix-up... that must've been disappointing!

Good Luck tomorrow! :shamrock:

Kathy

Thanks! I just read on your trip report - someone gave a different code for upgrading when staying in a value - it's too late to call now though, so I'll call in the am - I'll be up anyway :surfweb:

Thanks! I'm just striking out with Disney today - I thought I could get the free Quick service plan (since we are staying at POP) and pay the difference to upgrade to the regular dining plan. So I called - no go - I would have to switch to a moderate to get the regular - which is way more than what we would save. :sad2: Oh well!

Wait, you're staying at POP and want to use the Visa code? or the general public code? You can definitely pay the difference and upgrade to the regular plan - it's 10$ per adult per night. Where did you find out you couldn't?

Oh, just saw your post - you found out you can? Good. :)

I called and the CM said I couldn't - so I was going to call again, but I went to the Visa site and it didn't say anything. So I was reading Kathy's trip report and someone posted a different code for someone staying in a value that wants to upgrade to the basic dining plan - so I am going to call with that tomorrow. Weird thing, I didn't get an email from Visa about this at all - thank goodness I saw it on the DIS!

You can definitely upgrade1 I've been reading the code threads ppl have done it already with the DIS Visa code! Call back!:thumbsup2

I got up very early this morning and went online to make my reservations :surfweb: Scared the you know what out of my husband, in his sleepy state he forgot why I was getting up  Now that it's my actual 90 day mark :rolleyes1 I was able to make my ADR's.

Here is what I got (in paraethesis what I searched for)

10/26 - Crystal Palace - 8:10am (8:00am)

10/26 - Biergarten - 6:30pm (6:30 pm)

10/27 - No ADR's

10/28 - Chef Mickey's - 7:30 pm (7:30pm)

10/29 - Tusker House - 2:00pm (5:00pm - more on this later)

10/30 - 1900 Park Fare - 5:35pm (5:30pm)

10/31 - CRT - 2:20pm (2:30pm)

So I got everything I wanted. For Tusker House - they close at 5:00 along with AK I think, so I searched 5:00pm and got 3:55pm. The more I thought about it, we aren't going to go back and rest that day because AK closes so early, so I changed my mind to do a late lunch instead as a break :thumbsup2 2:00pm is what I searched for and got. Now I am just waiting 20 min to call and reserve BBB and hopefully apply the free dining code (with upgrade to the basic plan) to my ressie and pray it doesn't mess up my ADR's.

Alright - I called and was able to apply the Disney Visa code (RGV) to my reservation and it saved my an additional $150 over the 40% off pin code I had originally used :cheer2:

I also was able to book Maddie's BBB appointment and got 2:30 on 10/27 at DTD just like I wanted :thumbsup2 The CM thought you could book those online too, but I had checked into it and it doesn't look to me like you can yet. Maddie is very excited  princess:

That's awesome that you got all your ADRs and at great times too! :woohoo:

I'm so glad that you were able to use the new code and save some more money! I can't wait until my DD is old enough to enjoy BBB. I wanted to do it this trip, but she isn't really into the Princesses at all, she still loves Handy Manny and the Einsteins.

Wow! Congratulations! Everything worked out very well. Now you hit the waiting period though... nothing much to do for the next few months.

That's awesome! You really did well!

I'm just waiting for the phonelines to open :thumbsup2 Thanks!
No problem! I read on the boards that some ppl were being told no that they could not upgrade with the disney visa free dining and read that they were told to call back and definitely could upgrade!:thumbsup2 Glad I could help! It's always nice to save some $$$

Yeah, my DD started to get into princess's when we went to Disney just before she turned 3 - so maybe this trip will do it princess:

I've got a few things to think about and there is always shopping ;)

Thanks for your encouragement on calling back :thumbsup2 She will love BBB - she did it in 2007 and it is so her! I told her I booked it today and she gave me a huge hug :grouphug:

That is too cute! ;) I love the reactions of lil ones! I would so do this for my Lil niece but she would never let a stranger do her hair! :sad2:

Triple Yay!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

One for the ADR success, one for the BBB, and one for the code!!!

Aren't you glad that's over with?!

Kathy

Just to confirm things, I was checking my ADR's on the website - it won't pull them up:scared1: I tried last night and this morning :surfweb: So I just called, and thankfully they are all there - phew!!! That site as lots of good ideas, but the site rarely works

Then I had to call Travelocity because for the second time they (or the airlines) confirmed us on a random flight home in addition to the flights that we are supposed to be on. Luckily, it didn't take long to cancel that flight off, but it's the second time it's happened, I hope this is it. At least that is a toll-free call ;)

YAY! So glad you got the upgrade and got the places you want. I so wish we would book early so I have a better chance of getting some other places. We have never booked earlier than 45 days.
