Loved the update sounds like a great day so far. We never made it to pixie hollow hopefully we will next year. Ds6 was crying the whole way through the line and the ride on splash mountain but when it was over he said I wanna do it again and he did over and over. I was scared to death too untill it was over and then I wanted to go again too!

It'll be interesting to see if she'll do Splash your next visit...

Great photo pass pix.

Yes he is :hippie: I'm wondering that too - I'm not sure when the next visit is going to be though - she could be at least 2 years older, if so, I'd guess yes.

Thanks!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Aw, so sorry she didn't like Splash. It became a favorite of mine this trip!

I love it too - I like the drop and my Mom used to sing "Zippidi Do Da" to me all the time when I was little, so that song has a special place in my heart :lovestruc

When I last left off we had gone back to Pop and Maddie slept for 2 desperately needed hours. :cloud9: We headed for Epcot around 5:00pm. I think we got a bus fairly quickly. When we got there we took some photopass pictures:

Then we started to make our way to World Showcase for our dinner at Biergarten:

Doug had been looking forward to tricking his sister into drinking Beverly since we decided to take the trip:

We took our time and took in the sights – we started through Mexico and went that way:

I caught a pretty sunset on the way:

There was a bit of a line to check in and then we got our buzzer and waited. Maddie was still a bit whiney and wasn’t too enthused about eating at this restaurant. :headache: Our buzzer went off and we were seated by a nice young man, he was friendly with us, but gave a nice enthusiastic hello to Tricia – so being the brother he is, Doug gave her a razzing about the host liking her. :lmao: We were seated with a nice family of 4 (2 boys) from North Carolina. They were towards the end of their trip – so the older brother was almost falling asleep at the table. Once the band started to play, Maddie liked the restaurant better – but she was just so-so on the food. They had mac and cheese, but that’s not her favorite food and she really doesn’t like restaurant mac and cheese, unless it’s obviously the box kind. :rolleyes1 Thank Goodness for the band really – or it could have been a long meal. I was busy dealing with Maddie, so I didn’t really enjoy the food as much as Doug and Tricia – they loved it. I did love the macaroni salad, however – I could have eaten many helpings of that. Overall, it’s a fun restaurant – I would recommend it. :thumbsup2

Here’s the interior and the band:

We were done with dinner just before 8:00pm and we came out of Biergarten just as the clock was going off – here’s the picture I got, it was finishing just as I snapped  :

Then Doug and Maddie sat outside while Tricia and I poked around in a couple of the shops:

Then we found a spot along the lagoon to watch “Illuminations” from. I think we found a nice spot:

I decided I was thirsty – so I went off in search of a frozen beverage – I was even more thirsty by the time I was done, because I could not find something that sounded good until I was almost all the way around the world  – I don’t remember which country, but here is the drink:

(notice it is almost gone, because it was such a long walk back to the camera! :rotfl:)

When I got back Tricia was gone too – she had decided she wanted a margarita, so she headed to Mexico – she got back just a minute or two before the show started.

I also took a short video:

After the show we sat on a bench and let the park clear about 15 minutes and then walked back to the bus. While waiting for the bus a short rain shower came through, so it was nice to have the cover of the bus stop, but it ended just as quickly as it started. We got back to Pop about 10:30. We grabbed some fruit for Maddie to have as a snack and went back to the room. Maddie went to sleep, while Doug and I watched a little Monday Night Football before turning in.

It really was a wonderful first park day and Tricia really seemed to be enjoying it! The next day was our MNSSHP day, so we didn’t have to be up at an certain time – so that was a good feeling as we turned in.

Up next: A relaxing morning and it is a small world (but not the kind you're thinking ;) )

What an update! I loved Biergarten so much. That's our definite repeat restaurant. And you took such gorgeous Illuminations photos - I didn't get to see it like I wanted to last time, so being able to see your photos of it made me happy.

Did that gorgeous castle come home with you? :rotfl:

It was fun to play with the fireworks setting and my little tripod! LMAO on the castle - they may have made my luggage too heavy :rotfl:

Great pictures. I'm seeing more and more people find their way to Biergarten and the reviews are generally positive....hmmm......

The one thing keeping me from there is the sitting with other people. I hate doing that. Can you asked to be seated by yourself.

The food is good, I was just contending with a child who wouldn't eat, so I had to eat mine cold :sad2: Tricia and Doug still talk about it though :thumbsup2

I'm trying to remember if there are smaller tables - I don't think so

Great update! The picture of Maddie dancing is really cute. I didn't know they had that clock in Germany...so many little gems in the parks!

Sounds like you had a fun first day! Can't wait for more.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
