Our Halloween Pop adventure trip report 10/25-11/1/09 Animal Kingdom #3 6/28 pg.19

I spent to much time trying to get a pic of the headless horseman none of them came out and I completely missed seeing him when he went by:sad1:. Oh well next year I'm just going to watch him and not worry about a pic. Sorry Maddie got so tired and you had to leave early. We were the LAST car in the MK parking lot the night we went to the party (the tram driver told us and we could not see one other car out there)! We just didn't want to leave:) Can't wait to see what happens at Epcot.

Fun update. I love looking at the Halloween decorations. I really hope I can go during that time of year sometime in my life!

Ah, you were a good DIS-er! ;)
(It does look yummy...)

Maddie's pretty, and so is that "standby = 5 minutes" sign!!!

So we slowly made our way out of the park along Main Street and were able to see the Headless Horseman again and this time I sort of got a picture:

Oh that's great! I felt bad that you missed him earlier... so fantastic you got another shot at him!!

The Alice's Treat Path line was too much for us, too. Oh well, you can't do and see everything!

Looking forward to more...

This was our 3rd party (2005 and 2007) and in 2005 I got a great picture of the HH, apparently just by luck! In 2007 I failed and this year I didn't even try at the first parade since we were so far back.

That was Tricia's idea - she scrapbooks so she wanted a picture of herself eating it :thumbsup2

Thank you! And yes, that sign was a beautiful sight!

Yeah, I knew he would be riding soon, so I purposely was walking slowly out of the park so we could see him again. That is just so cool! At the time we walked through the path, there was no line to go on it - just to get pictures with Alice and the gang. We had already seen Alice once and we planned to see her in Epcot the next day - so it wasn't worth waiting.

Your explanation of MNSSHP is so detailed. Thanks!

It seems like you were able to do alot of attractions. It doesn't seem like the attractions were that busy or did you catch most attractions before the party actually started?

Oh man, I reallyyyyyyy want to do this now! Its the only party I haven't done, and now I need to do it.

Both really - this trip we did more attractions before the actual party started. I didn't expect the rides to be walk ons at that point because everyone was still allowed in the park, but people must have been leaving early due to the party. But during the party they are walk ons too because most people are doing the party things - especially getting pictures with the characters dressed up for Halloween and the special ones - like Snow WHite and the 7 Dwarves - those lines are very long!

Oh man, I reallyyyyyyy want to do this now! Its the only party I haven't done, and now I need to do it.

It is so fun - the parade and fireworks are worth the price of the ticket alone :thumbsup2

Great update! The Halloween party is so much fun.

Glad you liked the Dole Whip. We also have never had one but everyone seems to rave about them so I might have to try one myself!

Sounds like a fun night!

It was fun and we had such great weather :thumbsup2

Once the rain was done we proceeded to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Maddie was a little skeptical, but decided to try it – so Tricia and Maddie and I headed up to the ride. Maddie ended up loving it and wanted to ride again – since it was a walk on we figured why not! So we went right back around and tried the other side this time. Twice was enough for Maddie but she really did love it! She said it was her favorite ride so far!

Are there two different tracks to this ride?

Dole Whip Floats are sooo good! I'm glad you all liked them!

Subbing! I read the ptr yesterday and just caught up on the tr. My daughter is also in 1st grade and love reading tr's with kids who's ages are neat my kids'. I was there on a solo weekend later that week, from Thursday to Monday. I did MNSSHP on Thursday and then again on Sunday because I loved it so much! Between food and wine festival, the light crowds and the Halloween party, I think that was the best time of year to go. I went a few weeks later, over thanksgiving, with the family and I will never go at such a crazy time again! We're booked for October 22-31 of this year so the kids can experience the party too!

Can't wait to hear more!

Yes - you can go to the left or the right. One might be the fast pass line normally, but since it was walk on we could use both? I'm not sure on that.

How did you like going solo - have you done that before? It would be nice just doing what I wanted and not worrying about anyone else, but I wonder if I would get lonely. You length of trip would be nice though and you knew you'd be there a few weeks later with the family :thumbsup2 Your kids will love the party so much! Does you daughter love princesses or is she starting to leave them behind?

It was my second solo trip and I LOVED both of them! The kids are 7 and 5 now and a break from them (no matter HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM!) to my favorite place is always welcome. I checked out MNSSHP and the Kim Possible Missions to see if the kids would like them and had a fabulous time enjoying the Food and Wine Festival. Of course I missed the kids, and some attractions weren't nearly as much fun without them, but I am a very social person and would talk to people near me in lines, etc. I took a lot of pictures of other families for them and took a more leisurely approach to WDW. I wouldn't choose solo OVER going with them, but in ADDITION to it is awesome! I'm sure they're going to love the party and we did try the KP missions in November and it was a highlight of the trip for them. THey already LOVE Epcot and this just made it better for them!

As far as princesses...WELLLLL...Annika isn't much of a princess-kind-of-a-gal (though she does really like Tiana because she is cool and turns into a frog!) Annika's favorite character from about age 3-5 was Cruella De Vil. We would watch the parade at DHS several times/trip just to see her and the first few times we called her over to Annika. After that, Cruella remembered her each time and would come over and make a fuss over her. I guess she didn't have too many little girls fawning over her!:rotfl: We were very sad to see that parade go as we have not seen "our" Cruella since! Now her favorite characters are Stitch and Kim Possible. Annika likes lizards, and spiders and frogs...not a typical little girl! She loves art and science and wants to be an Immagineer when she grows up! When we ride rides, she is constantly looking around to see HOW they work!

My little guy, Charlie, tends to be into whatever big sister likes, though he is a big fan of Star Wars and Pirates and hockey and Tae Kwon Do. I'd love to take him to Star Wars weekends on day, and I'm thinking of doing the pirate makeover thingy for him (or both if she is interested) when we go to MNSSHP in October.

We're also going in May to enjoy the Flower and Garden Festival and I think I'm going to try to start a dual PTR for both trips later today.

Keep writing! I'm really enjoying!!

Thanks! Your daughter sounds like my daughter's good friend. She and Maddie couldn't be more different in their interests, but they play perfectly together because of it :thumbsup2 I will definately keep this report going to the end, if you start your report - let me know I'd love to sub!

Well, I have my pictures from 10/28 uploaded now, so I will work on my next update tomorrow and hopefully get it up :surfweb:
