Our Grand Floridian Grand Suite pictures

 Now that is the way to do WDW for the first time!!!! I'm afraid that anything after that would pale in comparison. If only I had a wealthy relative that wanted to treat me to a trip......

Let me just say that I only realized last week that we are "screwed" when we go back in January.... where could we possibly stay that would be as nice?????? We should have worked our way up! But our TA booked us in the Royal Asante Suite at AKL and I have heard (and seen pictures) and it looks AMAZING! It's a totally different atmosphere I'm sure, but this will only be our second trip to Disney and we should experience as many different resorts as we can right? I figure we can't try only one and make up our minds (fairly)!

(let me just add that I was kidding when I said "we are screwed".... I am thankful to be able to go to Disney in the first place, let alone stay in such lavish digs!)

Hmmmm, so I guess "most" of us are curious as to how to afford such "lavish digs" as you put it. You must be a movie star, CEO, pro athlete...at $2300 per night x 10 nights, not including tax, is a small fortune, a car, a down payment on a house, etc. I would LOVE to be able to have the luxury of staying in a suite, so kudos to you and your success. Obviously you have worked hard or your DH/SO has worked hard to get where you are. I will just live vicariously through you and the amazing pictures you have posted. I hope you'll post pics after your AKL stay in January. Thanks for sharing, too!

I was really only half kidding about "moving up". As I said, I realize that we are very fortunate to be able to stay in these nice suites... so for that, I am truly grateful. I am also glad to be able to give my children such memorable vacations. THAT being said, I also realize that "memorable vacations" are not just created b/c of the room level or resort you stay at.... but it is definitely nice to do. We are not movie stars, CEOs, or pro athletes.... just a regular, happy, young family. My husband has a very nice paying job that he has worked at for a good number of years. As I've mentioned in a few other posts, my sweet, wonderful, hard-working husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor last September so that is just another reason why we live for the moment.

I hope you didn't take offense to my other post!

I didn't take ANY offense! I was being genuinely honest about admiring one's hard work and such. I also agree that Magical Vacations come from the 'experience' not the room at the hotel. ;) I do thank you for sharing your pictures and experiences, though. Someday I hope to "splurge" on a room in the Main Bldg. at the Grand. Again, thanks for sharing.

Also, I hope your husband is on the road to recovery...prayers and hugs.

I remember a woman coming in with a huge cart of flowers (filled on the top and bottom of the cart) and I figured she was delivering flowers to the suites or something. No... ALL of the flowers were for us. We had fresh flowers all week.... on the desk, dining room table, living room table, bedrooms, etc. It was AMAZING!!!!

Nice! :thumbsup2

I bet you will love the suite at AKL. I've never stayed in that one but seen pics and it looks killer. It will be fun to try something totally different.

Thank you so much for sharing your photos. Although tons of people stay in those suites, very few DISers do - so few in fact that I have NEVER seen pics of it except on Cara Goldsbury's site. We are all lucky to have an insider's pics :goodvibes

Take care and happy planning for January :wizard: I completely understand how you feel about being so lucky to stay in such nice accomodations. It's hard for some people to relate and they assume you are spoiled or stuck up. But you sound very humble in your posts and you need not apologize for your good fortune. (no offense meant to scanne at all!)

johnsonet.,

No offense taken! :goodvibes And I agree that the OP does not come across as stuck up AT ALL!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks so much for sharing the photos! The suite looks really really nice!

We love the GF, but went to dinner at AKL and were blown away by the theming and ambiance of AKL -- we're going to stay there next time, too! I dont think you'll be disappointed -- the suites there look very beautiful and exotic!

Have a great trip!:)

I am in love! :lovestruc I think that is the most beautiful suite I've ever seen... and I've actually been inside quite a few of them over the years (just to take tours). Wow! :cloud9: I thank you so much for taking the time to post pics... what a wonderful and magical place to spend your first Disney vacation! :) My first trip was also at the GF (main building honeymoon room) and it does spoil you I admit. :rolleyes1 But over the years we've enjoyed every trip we've taken rather it be value or deluxe. That's the best thing about Disney World! :lovestruc

I have a longtime friend who's husband was one of the founders of Yahoo so I know what it must be like to have money to burn. :goodvibes I just enjoy living vicariously through those of you who are lucky enough to travel in this way. I hope your husband was able to enjoy his trip and he's with you for many, many more!!! And I also saw pics of your boys the other day... they are just adorable!!! Just beautiful eyes and hair. You are truly blessed! :cloud9: Enjoy AKL in January. We actually spent quite a bit of time in that suite during a media event a few years ago... it is beautiful. :)

Lovemy2boys, thanks so much for sharing with us. Those pictures are amazing! You have so gotten me in the mood for our first ever onsite trip next week. Maybe some pixie dust will fall our way and we'll be upgraded to that suite. (well, i can dream can't I? ;) )

Did you do a trip report? That is something I would love to read.

Thanks again and I hope you have just as magical time and the Animal Lodge

Thanks for sharing your pics, and for being so honest.

Hope your first trip was magical for your entire family!

I have turned a bright shade of envious green just looking at these photos.

Thanks for posting them.

Love the view of the CR, and I see that the new DVC (maybe ;) ) is coming right along....

You will really love AKL. We stayed there a few times (never in a super suite, lol) and the resort as a whole is beautiful and relaxing.

I wish you and your family many many more happy trips.

wow, what a beautiful suite.
How cool that must have been. Fresh flowers every day:thumbsup2
can;t wait to read your TR.
Kudos to you :worship: for living life to the fullest.
Pixie dust and prayers for your DH

:goodvibes Thanks again for sharing those lovely photos!!!

How many times do we all peer in the windows from the monorail of those delicious looking suites and wonder what they look like inside! Thanks for the insight into something most of us will never see!

You will have to keep us all posted on your TR. I would love to read it too!

Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful vacation memories with us!:goodvibes

Awesome pictures! Thanks so much for posting them up! I love the views from the balconies (especially of the new DVC at CR). I didn't realize that you could see the Epcot ball from GF too-very cool! :thumbsup2
