Our First Kidani Experience - Live

When we were there just a couple of weeks ago, I had requested a pool view and did not get any where near there. Quite the opposite. It was OK though, I enjoyed our room and it was not a long walk. I thought it looked like most of the pool views were still being worked on. But I could be wrong. I just didn't see any movement or notice any patio furniture on those balconies. Has anyone else received a pool view yet?

Looking forward to our stay at Kidani in October. Glad to hear you are having a nice time!! Looking forward to some pics.!! :)

You are correct. When I checked in on June 6th, I asked for a pool view and was told the wings with a view of the pool were not finished yet.

My concern had been the noise from the buses, including the ME buses, that someone mentioned in an earlier review, but it sounds like you haven't noticed this to be a problem.

That was me . . . and I was only trying to be honest with people. I promise I'm not a complainer. ;) And, in all honesty, I have exceptionally good hearing . . . I probably hear sounds only dogs can hear; drives my DH nuts. I mean for goodness sake, I could hear the bus vibration. Who hears that???? Please don't let it worry you.

Really enjoying your report so far and can't wait for my trip in Sept.!!

No. We didn't have the available points. So just like at BWV, the standard view rooms put you in this beautiful resort for less. It will be savanna view on the next trip though.

BTW, we received a voice mail yesterday that they will be testing the fire alarm system at 10 AM this morning.

Just checked out this morning.. Did they ever test the fire alarms.. They are LOUD!! :rotfl:
I agree with everything I have read so far. We moved to VWL and I so miss AKL. I wish I was back. We did have a Savanah room - saw animals all the time morning, afternoon and night. They do go in to their 'pens' from 8 AM - 10 AM though. Pool nice but they need more shade areas. I agree they also need a counter service place to eat, didin't try Saana as the food didn't appeal to us. The room was spotless, bed very comfortable and staff very nice...

Are there umbrellas near any chairs at the pool. In the pictures from DVC it doesn't appear there are?

Don't remember any... :( We had lounge chairs near the palm trees in the back... kept moving them as the sun changed its angle. We were there for a few hours as our room was not ready. The bathrooms near the pool are very nice for changing in and there is even a shower and lockers.

There are umbrellas at tables right next to the pool. They could use some more by the chairs.

Well, here we are, check out day.:sad2: ME bus at 10:30. Wish we had another week! I will post pics and a wrap up when I get home.

Just returned from a Kidani 1br standard stay June 15-22. I made no requests and was pleasantly surprised by being placed in the north wing, 7721. We were directly across from the short-term parking (nicely screened by tall trees) and to the left of the building housing the fitness room. We could hear the pool AND entrance area music from our balcony :) Just around the corner from the connecting studio (7723) was the ice machine and stairs, followed by the elevator. We used that elevator to get to the poolbar-side entrance to the pool area----------take it down to the parking level (level 1) and walk a very short distance to the left (it's obvious). So nice to not have to traipse through the lobby in a swimsuit!

Love to hear about Kidani! We won't get to stay there until Christmas. Hope to see some pics soon. Enjoy your vacation! :goodvibes

i would love to know where exactly the new Target is :)

Can't wait to see the pics, we are heading there in less then 2 months.

We requested savanah view, but there was none. We requested a 2BR dedicated, but was told there was none. :confused3 So I am looking forward to seeing what the lock-off looks likes. I am worried that with the kitchnette by 2 year old may get into some mischief when I am not looking. :rotfl: At least the kitchen I can always see him!

We will stay in Oct for 5 nights~ I can't wait! We just do the studio I asked for a pool view I hope we get it!

The new SuperTarget is very easy to find. Leave AKL/V property and turn right at the traffic light onto Sherbeth (sp?) Rd. Turn right onto 192, go through several traffic lights past the developed area. You'll see a large sandstone-colored shopping center (still under construction) on the left before an overpass. The SuperTarget is in that center.

Thanks for the great trip report!

We are staying a Kidani in August. One question if anyone can help.

My Dad (who is a young 76) doesn't need to be walking any extra steps (although he will dispute that) and I was wondering what area I should request for our room? We are in a dedicated two bedroom, Savannah view. I would like to either be very near the lobby area or the pool. We will have a car as well.

Here are a few pics from our Kidani stay. More to come:

Studio side. Notice the additional closet to the left of the armoire. Plenty of storage!

The living area. This pic is a little dark because of the sun in the background, but I kind of like it.

Thanks for the pics! The kitchen looks a little strange to me... a bit like it was plopped into a hotel room instead of designed there. I think it's because the sink / stool counter runs in a line from the door to the balcony instead of coming out from the wall. First time I noticed that. :confused3

Peeking off the balcony, the standard view looks fine to me - lots of natural vegetation out there & I'm sure even though the exotic animals aren't to be found there's plenty of wilderness left to be seen. :)
