WAHHHH! our last day!!! I'm up early for my last cup o joe on the balcony thingy outside our room. I've done this everyday for 7 days and I enjoy watching the resort wake up! We have a lot to do today before we leave but plenty of time to do it. I wake up the crew....our last day and they have NEVER heard the wake up call!
DH grabs a taxi to go to the Dolphin for our car. I tried calling 5x yesterday and 2 times this morning for the shuttle...couldn't get through!!! It costs $6 so it's not a killer. He brings home (listen to me! home!) a bright red Olds Allero, also in the intermediate size. We have a lot more stuff now plus the stroller but it all fits!
I hate leaving! I take our towel animals and set them up in the vanity area with the tip envelope with a note of thanks and I close the door for the last time! Room 3138 I will miss you!!!
We head over to CH so I can pay for all the coffee I drank and when I get up there to check out the CM informs me that the coffee is complimentary!!! Sure! now you tell me!!!!
We head over to ASMo to drop off the stroller for the next user. I have added a few things and had did my scrapbook page last night. I give the CM ohanaMAMA's info and that's that! Stroller swapped! What to do?? UMMM how about we check out AKL??
We head over and get a visitor's pass and park. We all walk into the lobby and I'm just struck about how HUGE it is! There are CM's all over the place with bones, pictures and what nots and I walk up to ask about an observatins deck. I'm pointed in the direction of the one by the pool and we head over to there. AKL's pool area is nice, there is even a hidden hot tub off to the right on a path. Well there are no animals here so we are sent to another area, no animals here either. HMMM the CM offers to take us to where they are and he escorts us into the hotel and into an elevator where we then walk down a lonnnnnggg cooridor and I mean LONG! this place is wayyy too big for me....it's also a little dark and the hallways seem small in width. Anyway we finally reach our destination and it's outside on a stairway. Low and behold there they are! Giraffe's and wildebeasts and a few other critters. We watch for a while and decide to leave. The kids even comment that this place is too big for them.
Back in the car we decide to hit DD. We go to Lego and World of Disney and I of course buy more stuff!!! But DH! I need the big bags for our winter coats! Rainforest Cafe is looking good for lunch so we head over there. We are seated right away but wait almost 10 min for our drinks and another 45 min for our food! We get a burger, soup and salad, hot dogs and ff and that's IT! $40 some odd dollars and I'm glad they take the DC card cause I would never have paid full price. The reviews are true! Service here is S L O W! We spent way too much time here and we leave to go get a sundae and hit the road. Great! it's raining AGAIN! Not wanting to be soggy for the trip home we decide to forget the sundae and just go!
We drive to Kissimmee and DH stops at some kind of Main St Fair. I don't remember the name of it but it's just got little shops , ice cream and some rides. Nothing major, we grab ice cream and hit a shop or two and decide to get to the airport.
We are flying out of SFB and have to have the car back by 5 it's 3:30 now so we're good on time! NOT! We get stuck in major traffic! Takes us almost 2 hours to get there and we are a little late returning the car. It's getting really dark now and then it starts just pouring and booming out and all I can think of is we are getting on a PLANE?!
Security is a lot tighter here then when we left PA and they really search though stuff this time. Takes us a while to get through. We grab something to eat, not much to choose from since we are the last flight out. Our flight was for 7:30 but at 7 there isn't a plane in sight! We are moved to another gate and about 7:30 the plane rolls in. It has to unload/load and take off in less then 30 min! Yeah ok let the magic begin! They load us row by row and me and DS5 sit together this time with DH and DS12 in front of us. DS5 sleeps pretty much the whole way home and through landing. He doesn't want to wake up when we land.
We head out to get our luggage and it's COLD here! we are in shorts and tank tops and windbreakers! GEEZE!
Get our van out of valet and load up. We head home and are greeted by our dog (grandma dropped her off earlier) with kisses and slurps. We leave the bags in the car and head off to bed!
