Love your PTR so far, also loved your mini TR to NY- I live about 2 hours away from NYC so it's so funny when others get so excited!!!:rotfl:

Mary Poppins just sounds amazing! I just have to see it. :lovestruc

What a neat website about WL. I have been poking around it, very nice. You are going to just love WL, it's so beautiful and relaxing. I have nothing but happy memories from our stay there. :goodvibes

It really was a great show. :thumbsup2 You'd love it!

Yeah, whoever did the site has a lot of positive comments about it too. I can't wait. Some of the pictures are just amazing! Ahhh I want to be there now!

Hi! :welcome: to my PTR from a fellow Big East alumni. :wave2: I bet you are a big basketball fan if you went to UConn! I am disappointed they lost the other day...I had them winning the whole tournament! :sad2:

Glad you're enjoying my PTR and the NY mini report. I see you have a trip coming up too. I'll have to go check out your PTR!

Thats so cool that you found a site like that! The WL just looks so beautiful to me so more pictures of it can never be a bad thing :thumbsup2

Haha yes, I really do go to DePaul!! It's a really good school but most of the people that go here are stuck up brats, including the guys. Chicago is fun, though!

WL looks sweet! If I can convince my mom to take me for graduation in December I am thinking about staying there. I heard it is really pretty at Christmas!

Yeah, it's a really fun site! Have I mentioned lately that I'm excited to be staying there?!

That's cool you go to Depaul. :thumbsup2 Are you from the Chicago area then or do you just go to school there?

That would be so fun to stay there for a graduation trip! And yes, it is really pretty at Christmas (I have a bunch of pictures from there in my Dec. trip report).

My goodness those cupcakes look so good! NYC is gorgeous! And Mary Poppins...you're so lucky to have seen that! :goodvibes

Okay, so we need to plan some sort of Dismeet in August. We are diving in on the 23rd. I probably wont get there 'til the afternoon sometime. I'm going to book a lunch somewhere and then a late dinner that night. I might just do a water park that day!? We'll see. The kids can not wait to go back and they are so excited about it! (More excited than the parks actually!) We skipped the WP's last year so that's why. I guess we should try and meet on the 24th at some point. I'm waiting for the calendar too. It's hard to make definite plans w/o it!

I'll have a bunch of WL pics coming up soon in the trip report. That's where we stayed the last couple of days. They have a lot of fun stuff to do there. Ft Wilderness does too. It's nothing like the rest of WDW.

:squirrel: The Wilderness Lodge has its very own mascot...a bear! Supposedly it can be seen in the logo and in all kinds of carvings around the resort. And according to some people, if you walk down toward the pool and Bay Lake and look back at the Lodge, the windows and roof structure resemble a giant bear. I know I've read this somewhere else and some people say it's kind of a stretch of the imagination. Needless to say now I've been looking at pictures trying to see the bear.

You can see the bear if you're out on one of the boats coming/going to FW..and it kind of helps to look at night. It's so cool!

:squirrel: The resort, like all of Disney World, has lots of Hidden Mickeys. But at the WL you can get a Hidden Mickey scavenger hunt list at the front desk. That might be kind of fun to do.

It's so much fun to do! We did it on a rainy/relaxing day and it was great way to have fun without even leaving our resort!

I will check it out soon to see those photos! No, I'm from Cleveland, OH originally.

Ohhh, ok. One of my good friends from college was from the Cleveland area (Avon Lake to be specific).

My goodness those cupcakes look so good! NYC is gorgeous! And Mary Poppins...you're so lucky to have seen that! :goodvibes

NYC was a lot of fun. Such a great place to visit. :thumbsup2 And Mary Poppins was awesome. I was listening to a couple of the songs from the show on my iPod before and now they're stuck in my head! haha

Yeah, a DIS meet would be fun! The 24th probably would be the best day seeing as we leave the 25th! :sad2: We haven't gone to one of the water parks in soooo long...my sister and I really want to go to Blizzard Beach this time. But yes, we should think of a way to meet up. I know Dad's been lurking on my PTR and asked if people actually meet up...he said that sounds fun! :)

I can't wait to see all your WL pictures!!

That is what I've read, that it's easier to see at night.

Yeah, I bet it's fun. Since we've been to WDW so many times I always say how I want to do some of that stuff, like looking for Hidden Mickeys or looking for some of the stuff that's in this other book called Disney World Treasure Hunts. But I never do. Maybe this will be the time!

Happy Spring Break to me!!! :woohoo::woohoo: No teaching for a week!

Anyways, I thought I'd get back to my mini NYC trip report since I haven't done that in a few days.

NYC day 3: March 12 (aka my birthday!!)

It was going to be another day of basketball for us since Marquette won their first game . But before heading back over to the Garden we did a little bit of sightseeing. It was nice to finally see the sun shining too even if it was still chilly.

Since I enjoyed the show so much I had to have my picture taken by the Mary Poppins poster right outside the theater.
2581_561753030464_20305212_34708311_6371337_n.jpg

And another one of Times Square...this looks a little familiar with those Disney billboards...haha
2581_561753035454_20305212_34708312_3203998_n.jpg

So we continued on our way to pick up the tickets to the basketball games. Then we got to explore the city for a little bit. We found Herald Square, a cute little park. I had heard of Herald Square and for some reason I didn't think that's what it was. I guess I don't know what I was expecting though. :confused3

And right across the street was Macy's! You can see the remnants from the Thanksgiving Day parade on the street (or maybe it just never goes away...).

We continued walking and saw the Empire State Building. This time we could actually see the top- the day before it was cloudy so you could only see part of it. It looked more like this:

No, the building is not falling down, I was just trying to be artistic when I took the picture.

2581_561753060404_20305212_34708317_4543203_n.jpg

We decided to go in just to look around. There are apparently tours that you can go on to get to the very top but we didn't have time for that (the lines were super long!). We did all agree that it must be so strange to work there and have all these crazy tourists coming in all the time. That must be really annoying. LOL.

Once we got back outside I took this picture. I love it because this just seems so New York to me (don't ask me why).
2581_561753065394_20305212_34708318_1080804_n.jpg

And the street sign showing where we were...
2581_561753070384_20305212_34708319_3306033_n.jpg

Then we decided to make our way over to Madison Square Garden for the games. We walked past a bar that had the tournament bracket posted in the window. We were going to see the Providence-Louisville game and of course the Marquette-Villanova game.

up next: Would Marquette give me a birthday present by winning their game?!

And random but for my fellow American Idol fans, any predictions on tonight? :confused3 :scratchin

Cool NYC photos! I'll be there soon so they made me excited! I live really close to Avon Lake and a lot of my family lives there! How funny.

Your NYC pictures capture the grandness of the city... everything so much larger than life. I have wondered that too, about the people working in the ESB and having to deal with all of the tourists. Guess you just get used to it.

Happy Spring Break! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Hope you have a great week!

I'm loving your mini report! I dont follow college sports but I thought it was funny that St. Johns was playing - my cousin and one of my best friends go there! I know nothing about their teams though  MSG is nice but it's really nothing special in regard to how it looks. It's famous since it was one of the first major arenas and is the only one in Manhattan. I actually hate going to events there just because the place is so damn big! We saw Elton John at the Garden in 2006 and thankfully we had good seats, but if you get tickets to a concert at the back of the arena, you might as well not even bother going :lmao:

I'm glad you liked Mary Poppins too! We were thinking of going for the new $15 deal (you buy one regular price ticket and get one for $15) but we decided to wait for Hair or Billy Elliott discounts. I kind of wish we would have seen Mary Poppins instead of The Little Mermaid. I've LOVED the Little Mermaid since I was 2, but the Broadway show was horrible! I went with my cousin Cari, aunt and grandma in December of 2007 and the whole thing was ridiculous - the costumes were cheap, the effects were cheesy, and the new music sucked. I was so disappointed since I was really excited for it! It was good for kids under 5, but it definitely wasn't a show for adults like the other Disney on Broadway shows.

CRAP! I'm going to see that next weekend LOL! Oh well, I like cheesy stuff so I'll probably like it.

 You might like it! Especially if you're a Little Mermaid fan and know what to expect. It just wasn't up to par of other Broadway shows... it was like a bigger version of the MGM LM show. Cute, but not worth the ridiculous amount of money we paid. Have fun either way!

another PTR for me to get hooked on and do nothing else all day but read along :rolleyes1

Congratulations on your trip plans, The Wilderness lodge looks lovely, cant wait to hear more of your plans. And I love your NY pictures, its one of my favourite places to see pictures of, it just looks like such a great city :)

Thanks! You will have fun when you go. :) That's funny that you have a lot family in Avon Lake...what a small world. haha!

Yeah, NYC is pretty amazing because it is nothing like that here. I mean, skyscrapers at every corner, busy streets...but it was so much fun.

Happy Spring Break! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Hope you have a great week!

Thanks! :yay:

Yeah, the Garden was pretty big and we did find it a little confusing how you have to go in a certain tower and then another gate until you got to your section!

Oooh, you should go see Mary Poppins, it was really good. That would be cool if you could get a discount! Do you ever use tkts? We saw a booth in Times Square where you can get 50% off tickets for the day of the show (or something like that).

No I've never been :sad2:
I've loved the look of the city since I see Home alone 2 years & years ago and then since I was about 15 (10 years ago) i've really wanted to go so badly but unfortunately still not gone, but I think i will deffiently get there at last next year :)

Hopefully you can get to NYC sometime...it's a neat place to visit!

It's funny you mention Home Alone because when we were sightseeing we walked by the Plaza Hotel so of course I thought of the movie. And then there were all the people trying to get us to take carriage rides through Central Park because they point out all the famous spots where movies were filmed.

Happy spring break!

Love all those NYC pics. Your right that picture is so NY! It's funny to see that Macy's doesn't take down that Thanksgiving thing on the sidewalk. Maybe it's painted on and that's why they cant? :confused3

As for AI: I was kind of sad to see Scott go. He did much better when he was singing to stay than the night before. Well besides that high note. I think this week Anoop or Lil will be going. Do you know what this weeks theme is going to be?
