Our End-of-the-Summer Celebration! *TR LINK ADDED!!*

Woo hoo, the boards are finally back up so I can reply to you all! I was kind of having DIS withdrawl yesterday. Now I also have to go get caught up on everyone else's reports.

Yayyy I'm so glad you started and gave us some info! I just KNEW you were going to stay and VWL because you said how much you guys just loved it there when you visited in Dec. What a great choice! :thumbsup2

And yes it will be super hot when you go but just think, the crowds should be really low at that time because the FL kids start school earlier than us Northerners :goodvibes

haha, another good guess!

That's what I heard too so hopefully the crowds won't be too bad.

Wow, you FLEW through your last TR! I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to comment more, but I was keeping up! But, I'm all subscribed and ready for this one! :thumbsup2

That's alright...glad to have you on board for this one too. :thumbsup2

Dangit! I picked Boardwalk because you loved the Yacht Club so much! It'll be fun to hear about your adventures at a new resort. Plus you get to ride the ferry over to MK :woohoo:

Yeah, it was a hard decision between the BW and WL. Both are so nice so hopefully some day we'll be able to get the Boardwalk. For some reason there wasn't as much availability in August there. :confused3 I think we also chose WL because we had just stayed in the Epcot resort area and the Wilderness Lodge is just so different. Can't wait!

In August I am meeting Goofy22 and Disneyquilter for sure! (And you of course) I'm not sure who else is going. We'll be doing a Photopass Share if you'd like to join us. :goodvibes

In December there is a big group of Diser's meeting up. If you go the first week of Dec lmk. I'll give ya the info. :thumbsup2

I KNEW you'd pick the Wilderness Lodge! ;)

Ohh cool. And not to sound like an idiot but how does a photopass share work?!

Hmmm, a big meet in December...maybe I will have to go then too.

Dang it, I'm hooked into another PTR. Goodbye homework... see you later decent grades...:lmao:

Welcome Beka! Aren't the DIS boards addicting? Especially the trip reports. They're nice when I need a quick little Disney fix. :thumbsup2

Hi~ I followed along on your last TR and really enjoyed it so I am suscribing to this one. :thumbsup2 I am interested seeing what you think of an August trip... we almost went last year but then didn't go.

Glad you enjoyed the last TR and are going to join in on this one as well. :)

I am so totally in on your planning adventures! I will be there right after you guys leave (September 4-13). I can't wait to see what all you have planned...14 trips...that's amazing!! Good to know you haven't got tired of it. We just bought into DVC after our honeymoon at WDW. We will be staying at VWL for the first half of our trip there...can't wait to hear how you like it.

Looking forward to more updates :goodvibes

Hi there ariel! Congrats on buying into DVC...you will love it! We've only been members for a couple of years but it has been worth every penny.

I made it!!

So excited about your summer trip. I need to live vicariously through you! :goodvibes

Yay! Thanks for coming over. :goodvibes

Glad you were able to get Wilderness Lodge! :yay:

I'm sure you'll have a great time there!

I know, I am super excited about the Wilderness Lodge. Thank goodness for DVC!

Started my March trippie...stop by and check it out!

Definitely! :thumbsup2

I am in...

:cool1:

Yay, another reader! Glad to have you joining in. :woohoo:

How exciting - a summer trip!! I had so much fun reading your December trip (esp since we were there approx the same time). I've never visited in the summer - we sort of moved from Oregon to Kissimmee in August 1994 & stayed til that December (long sad story but ended up leaving December 22 after my husband died of a heart attack in the hotel room we ended up staying in from August to December). I remember how hot and humid it was but we had the hotel pool to keep the kids cool.

This should be a fun trip again! I would love to stay at the WL - it reminds me of Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood in Oregon so it would bring back great memories. (my cousin worked on the bricks in the fireplace and engraved our family name on the backside of the brick. You can't see it from the front of the fireplace but neat to know our family's name is engraved there!)

Can't wait to read about all the pre-planning that goes into a summer trip!

Wohoooo girl I'm here! Sorry I'm a bit late! I'm so excited you guys are headed back. Can't wait to hear all about your plans and specially about the WL. It looks so beautiful.

Looking forward to more! :goodvibes

Hello! I'm glad you enjoyed reading my December trip report. :thumbsup2 The holidays are a great time to visit, hey? I am so sorry to hear about your husband...that is horrible. :sad1::guilty:

Ohhh yeah, I am so excited about the Wilderness Lodge. I subscribed to the WL photo thread...I can't wait to be there! :cool1:

Thanks again for joining in!

Well it's about time you showed up! :rotfl: haha, just kidding. ;) Glad you found me though!

What will we celebrate?

You may be wondering why I decided to name my PTR "Our End-of-the-Summer Celebration." We all know that the new theme for Disney parks this year is What Will You Celebrate? I wanted to tie it into that and thought it sounded kind of cool. :teeth:

And while we don't have anything obvious to celebrate like birthdays, graduations, or weddings, I thought there must be something to "celebrate." After all, the words in the new theme song go, "everyone has a reason, a reason to celebrate!" So here are some of my celebration-worthy ideas:

1.) celebrating our 15th trip to Disney World...15 is a nice round number, right?

2.) celebrating our first visit at the Wilderness Lodge

3.) celebrating the start of a new school year (ok, maybe not so much...)

What do you think? Hope they're not too lame. ;)

Oh yes, and I still have to do my mini TR on our visit to NY. :thumbsup2

No those arent lame at all!!! I specially like the 15th trip to WDW celebration!

Thanks! I can't believe this will be our 15th trip. Crazy. I don't think I ever imagined I'd be going that many times but I never knew I'd love it so much! :goodvibes

Hey Sarah! Sorry it took me forever to get over here, I've been so busy with school it's driving me crazy. I just got caught up though and am loving it already! The Wilerness Lodge is gorgeous. We haven't gotten to stay there yet but we've visited a few times and I really liked it. The size of the lobby is impressive in and of itself!

I can't wait to read about the rest of your plans, and your NY mini-report ;) I also subscribed to your old report so I'm going to read that one next!

Hey! Glad you made it over to my PTR and are enjoying it so far. :) We've visited the WL a couple of times and it is so nice there. I'm really looking forward to finally getting to stay there! The lobby is pretty cool. :thumbsup2

I am going to start my mini-TR for NYC soon!

OK, somebody please remind me, what month is it? Because last I checked it was March, almost April and it is SNOWING here. UGGGGGHHHHH!!!!! Not fun. :sad2: Anyways, I thought I'd start my New York mini-TR since I haven't had anything else to update on. So let's take a break from Disney for a bit!

NYC Day 1: March 10
We left for New York on Tuesday morning. I'll keep this brief so as not to bore you...our flight was pretty uneventful and we arrived in NYC early afternoon. We then took a shuttle to our hotel, which was located right in the Times Square area, and were able to check in right away. We had 2 rooms so we'd have more space but only one was ready at that time. But we still dropped off our stuff in one room and headed out to find something to eat and explore! I stupidly didn't take my camera with me so I'll have to steal some pictures from my sister. Times Square was very exciting...lots of lights, huge signs, and even bigger stores!

We spotted the ball that they drop on New Year's. I remember hearing them say on the New Year's Rockin Eve show they were going to be keeping it up all year.

We saw the big M&Ms World store which we went back into later on, after some more walking around. :)

Then we walked up a ways to where Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Center are. It was so cool to finally be seeing all these places I've seen on TV in person!

We also saw where they film the Today Show (which my parents went to the next morning...you could actually see them on TV, haha!) before visiting some stores. We went into Toys R Us, M&Ms World, and the Virgin Megastore, all of which were giant! :eek:Let's just say we don't have too many stores of that scale here. Oh yes, we also went into a couple of the New York souvenir stores...you know, with all the I *heart* New York t-shirts, and all the other cheesy tourist stuff. ;) Then we went back to the hotel to to check on our other room and for a quick break.

Very cool! I want to go to NYC! In the third pic down I wonder if someone lives in that apartment behind The Little Mermaid sign? That would be weird huh? The whole window would be a billboard!

You know, I have never been to NYC and I live fairly close too. I need to get on that. Did you buy lots of souvenirs??

heyy so glad you started your NYC mini TR! I live like an hour east of there and it still amazes me seeing all the pictures. I haven't been since December and I miss it!! Can't wait to hear more ;)

I'm so psyched that you started! Love the pics :thumbsup2 Too funny about the New Years Eve ball... I've been in Times Square like 25 times since January and haven't EVER seen it. I didn't even know they were keeping it up! I'm looking forward to reading more!

Great start on the NY trip report!
We keep talking about a short trip there again.

Its fun to see all your photos.
I have never seen the m&m store, It looks neat!

Can't believe you have snow today!!!!
Its in the 40s here, so we just have rain.
I am ready for the warm weather to stay!!!

Loving your mini tr! I'm another one who lives close (well 3 hrs away) to NYC and never been! Your pictures are awesome can't wait to hear more!

Very fun NYC pictures! Did you ice skate? What did you like best about being there? (sorry you have snow today!)
