People post dining plans on the Disney Rest. board all the time, so why not on the Universal board? :teeth: So, here's our dining plans. Opinions & suggestions welcome. :)

Sun. - Mythos @ 7:30pm
Mon. - Tchoup Chop @ 8pm
Tue. - Emeril's @ 8:30pm
Wed. - Cabana Day (no plans)
Thur. - Palm @ 8pm

I'm going to try to arrange a tour of HRC, after lunch one day. Other than that, we won't have any set breakfast or lunch plans.

Looks good altho I don't see any Margaritaville...... :rolleyes1

I agree. Universal without Margaritaville is like.....

LOL!!! :teeth: I know it's blasphemy on here, but we don't like the Margaritaville @ CW. :duck: We love the one in Key West though, if that helps to redeem our credibility. :rotfl:

I'm happy to see you added Tchoup Chop and I really hope you enjoy it this time! Where is Lombards? I remember reading you were going to try and eat there to catch the 360 show, did that change?

It looks good but I would have Mama Della's in there instead of The Palm or Emeril's (thats just me!)

Sounds like a grand plan, hope you enjoy all these wonderful meals!

I called Lombard's for a reservation & they weren't taking them past 6pm. We're not used to eating dinner that early. Plus, we'd have to hang around for at least a couple hours for the show. Since they're not taking reservations, I have a feeling the wait for a table will be ridiculous closer to show time. We're going to try to fit the show in, when it's convenient instead. It would have been perfect, if we could have eaten there at 8pm, then watched the show.

I'd like to try Mama Della's. We've never been. We love Emeril's. It's by far our fav. restaurant at UO, so it's always on the list. We've never tried The Palm, which is why we've added it this trip. If we cancelled one of them for MD, it would probably be TC. If we get tired of lounging in the cabana, we may give it a try on Wed. Is it possible to dine there w/o a reservation or a very long wait?

BTW, you have a great memory. I can't remember anything.

How far in advance will you (or did you) make your reservations?

I made our Emeril's reservation the day we booked our hotel. This was on 4/29 & I couldn't get 8pm with booking that early. The Tchoup Chop & Palm reservations were made close to the 60 day mark. Palm reservations aren't available any earlier. Mythos would only book 2 weeks out, so I made that one at the 2 week mark. Other than Emeril's & TC, I think the others would be okay to wait until closer to your trip. If you want to dine at Emeril's, book ASAP. TC doesn't fill up as quickly, but it's still a good idea to make a reservation when you have a tentative date & time. It's really easy to reserve & cancel Emeril's & TC on Opentable.com. You can book The Palm on savvydiner.com

Ok, you are forgiven :teeth:

They look rockin' good to me!

I just booked our ressie at TC on that link you provided for when we're down. Thanks for posting that link. First time for us eatin' Emeril food :)

Fish & chips from Finnegan's is must for us on our US day(s). Just a thought if you're hungry -- or thirsty for a beer -- and close to the Mummy!

Opentable is a great site. We use it for reservations all over the country. It's so convenient. Don't forget to print out your confirmation & take it with you. You won't really need the confirmation, but you will need the number you use to call by 3pm the day of your reservation to confirm. You can also call the day before. Next, you'll have to give Emeril's @ CW a try. :)

My guys, especially my DH, loves fish & chips. I'm sure they'd love Finnegan's. I don't really care for fried foods, but can always find something I like. We may have to try lunch there one day.

So, how much is Jimmy Buffett paying you anyway? I may need to call up Emeril & work out a similar deal. :rotfl2:

Looks good! I wanted to try Lombard's this visit too, but couldn't get a reservation late enough for our usual dinner time. My family is totally opposed to waiting in line for a table. I'll give you my revised opinion of TC in a couple weeks. :teeth: Mythos is great!!! We've never been to the Luau. We usually go Sun. thru Thur., so we always miss it. :guilty: We're going to a Luau in Daytona Beach in a couple weeks though. We'll have to compare notes. :) I'm already on the naughty list, because of Margaritaville, so :ssst: . :rolleyes1

Zsa Zsa,
My family could definitely travel with yours. :teeth: We don't know many people we could happily travel with. None of our family & close friends think vacation's all about when your next reservation is. :confused3 I don't know what their problem is. ;)

I'm glad to see you're eating at Emeril's. It often seems to get overlooked on here. We've never been for lunch, but their dinner is by far our fav. meal at UO. If you get back from SW on Fri. in time for dinner, you should consider Latin Quarter @ CW. It's our 2nd fav. UO rest., coming in just behind Emeril's. I wish we could work it into our plans, but I'm determined to see what we missed the 1st time we ate at TC. :p Please, let us know what you think about Bice. We thought about eating there, but I couldn't find many reviews. I wish you would be able to write a review, before we get there.

I'm going to throw out a suggestion. If you don't agree, no problem. :) Obviously, you guys don't mind spending money on food, so this may work for you. :teeth: I checked & you could get a reservation @ Emeril's for 8:30pm on Wed. If it were me, I would move The Kitchen or HRC to lunch on Sat., & have dinner at Emeril's. Dinner Tue. night could be The Kitchen, as it is now, or HRC if you prefer to have dinner there rather than lunch. Both of these restaurants are good, but neither are outstanding. We prefer to have our nicer meals at dinner. That gives us a chance to shower & dress for the evening. Plus, we eat more at dinner. I know everyone isn't that way. If your family likes having some of your nicer meals for lunch, your plan sounds perfect! :)

:rotfl2: i wish he were......anyone have his phone number??? Nah, I just ate there for the first time during our last trip (only 2 weeks ago)...liked it so much, we ate there twice in our 5 days there!! I thought the food was really excellent and reasonably priced. Where else can you get appetizer nachos a foot high and loaded to the gills for $6??? Heck, it wasn't an appetizer....it was the meal!!!! :teeth: I just really enjoyed it there and I will express it till the cows come home....wait'll my trip report! :goodvibes btw, in case I forget to mention, be sure to take a Sharpie (or marker) to the restroom!! ;)
