"OUR BIG, FAT DISNEY VACATION!" Ch.26 NEW! 2/11 pg. 121 "And they lived happily ever&

Great post! I agree about being a Mom. I proudly traded my Coach briefcase for a diaper bag and have never looked back! Let's face it, at the end of your life do you want people to remember the great hair you did or the great people you raised? :lovestruc

Must say, I totally cried when I read about the Precious Moments. I have got to find the one of the grandma angel peeking over the cradle. Same situation here with my children.

Being a mom is the one job I just don't mind doing. :goodvibes

You rock utahmamma, i love your trip report so far and i can't wait to be able to do mine. you look so good in your pictures and i love ya to death and am very happy that if i want to hang out with ya i can (please don't be jealous all of utah mamma's loyal fans)can't wait for your next installment.i love how you talk about your kids because i have seen you in action with them .i love being a mom also and are very blessed . all though my two older ones are going to get it (they are not going to bed) You are the best hairstylist ever.. Jayedyn loves too say she has her own hairstylist,(but i will definately let her do the boutique :cloud9: ),love the seven loads of laundry and sitting in the sun, gosh when i do laundry it's usually not anything fun... going to bed now . mayson is asleep so i am too. :cloud9: love ya :lovestruc

:Pinkbounc Always worth the wait! Loved the mid-air pic of Norah. At first I could not tell if she was jumping or being thrown! :lmao:

Somehow we missed the candy store at DTD - it won't happen again!

I work with jr. high and youth - they are trying to teach me the fine art of texting! Very frustrating. I'm always like, "Okay, I can either spend 20 minutes trying to have a "text discussion" or I can call you and be done in 5." I just don't get it. But when you hang around with young people you get used to seeing them talk to you while text messaging with one hand, it is an amazing talent. ;)

Woot! I am a happy girl! Great new installment UM! BTW, you now have me reading DISunc's TR, and I am on my way to Twinkiemama's next. I would appreciate it if you would update again...what is your word? ah yes...soonly! I need the inspiration for my potential TR. :teeth: I also need to know more about your LGMHPC crafty concoctions. We raided the HD this past weekend, and I have never used them to make window decorations before. What did you do?

Psst, I forgot to tell you about the potentially juicy thread over on the restaurant board - you know the whole "That horrible DDP welfare program is ruining WDW rant." I am taking bets on how long before it is locked. I said page 6 and it is on page 5 - it has been pretty civil so far, but we'll see! popcorn::

Hey neighbor! I work with the youth as well and teach 8th grade (I catch them trying to text in class) and it amazes me all the things they can do while texting--play games, have a conversation, ...

Even though this was an unscheduled and unregimented day (other than Captain Jacks) it really was one of the funnest, to be honest. We yelled photographer sayings when we’d pose for pictures with the statue of Cinderella or Minnie and Mickey or Pooh…like this, “Work it!! Work it” That’s right! Show me you mean it! Pout more!” I yelled this to embarrass my kids but it backfired because they’d strut even more or strike some Zoolanderish or Madonna’s Vogue poses! Note, I don’t recommend telling your 6 year old son to shake his “money makers” loudly in public because it stumped him for all of 3 seconds before you could literally see the lightbulb go on over his head and her turned around and shook his cute bum-bum for all the world to see!! That ROCKED! (he's a shy one most of the time!)You see, I never dreamed I’d be driving a Suburban load of kids (or a mini-van or a station wagon- which I totally made fun of back in the day) or be room mother or a church leader or foster mother, or plant salsa gardens or have yard sales but that’s what I do now. AND, I like all that. I love being called "Mother" by 4 beautiful human beings who are pretty good. Though I yearn for a nice fat Disney Vacation Club membership and a stainless steel refrigerator, I really would not trade my life for any one elses. :lovestruc

Next time…lost room/park ticket/dining card fiasco (or was it?) AND I finally rode Peter Pan ;) !!!!

Hey, I though I was the only mama yelling for her kids to "shake what your mama gave you." :rotfl2: I knew there was a reason I liked you! :woohoo:

Always worth the wait UM!

According to my Disney math, by NOT going to that mall, I saved a good one hundred dollars, possibly more! That money goes direct deposit into my magic Disney wallet, to spend at Downtown Disney! Makes sense to me! ;)

While my family swam in a very quiet exclusively-ours pool, I did 7 loads of laundry. Yes, I said SEVEN loads that each took twice to dry! GEEZ. So in between loads I basked in the sun and swam.
There goes the hundred dollars!

We had a grand time in the art gallery. I love Disney art! LOVE IT! I found Horsegirl’s goofy statue. I found a neat sketch of Miss Piggy (lo and behold was mine 4 days later for my birthday! Fancy that!)

You got a new avatar for your birthday!

I second that. (Although I'm only brave enough to go for 2 kids! My DH and I didn't want to be outnumbered!)

YAY!!! A new installment!!!

I'm soooo happy!!!! :dance3:

I've done the laundry thing on vacation and it isn't fun, but has to be done. I would say 7 loads with the 6 of you is about right. :laundy:

I am still gathering info on places to eat in Nov 2007. Cap't Jacks will probably be off the list. Soooo many choices!!!

Looking forward to reading more.

UMama, it always brightens my day to see a new post from you! :sunny:

Kudos on taking a day "off". I'm always the first one advising other WDW travelers to do so, but it's always really hard to force myself to take that advice. Pays off, doesn't it? :thumbsup2

UMA - I just want to let you know I'm finally here.

I PRINTED out the first bits and read it all.

And your new post.

Excellent read!

And pictures!

Thanks!

that's the ballgame folks.............you rock UM!!

Your reports are one of the few that I actually follow. I realized why when you talked about how much you love being a Mom. I also have 4 chillins. 3 boys and my baby girl. pirate: pirate: pirate: princess: (Not so little 22, 20, 18 and 17) Life just doesn't get any better than being their Mom and my DH's wife. I'm afraid I'm a regular pepsi addict...but I raise my glass to you Umama!!

I love your report!!
MY DS10 was a texting fool also. To his best friend Jazmine. She is 15 months older than him but a very close family friend. 1/2 way through our 2 week trip her mom called and wanted to know if we were ever coming home because jazzy was feeling lonely. Yes, i see her as my future daughter-in-law. These two kids are very close. Jordan (my DS is Jordan also :) ) text Jaz about 20 times a day, until school started and then he started texting her mom. I wish he would have never learned how to text!!
I think i did a million loads of laundry during our stay, but we changed and showered 1/2 through the day (I wasn't about to spend all day with a bunch of smelly boys!! :rotfl: :rotfl: ) But luckily our time share had FREE laundry and i stocked up on Tide at target in the $1 aisle, or I would have spent a fortune!!

It only took me 2 weeks to finally catch up. I go to your first page and write down page #'s and post #'s.

Your last installment, page 81, #1231 is actually on page 83.

Your TR can make me laugh and cry on the very same post. Me and my husband are so identical when it comes to arguing. If he is starting to loose, he gives me the "gotta have the last word".

Love the Mac & cheese saga that the 2 boys will only eat. And, I like your reviews your ADR's resturants. I don't get over to the dining page, so I like it when I see some reviews here.

I'm amazed at the 200 replies between posts, I don't read them, I just noticed them, when I was writing down page numbers and post numbers, so now I am part of the replies. Great job on your TR.

Oh the Lego Store my DS starting druling just thinking about it

Normally I allow him one large set from there as his "disney souvie". Drive me nuts as I can get "almost" the sametime for much less at home and not have to pack it to boot. It's the "almost" that does it for DS though. Oh well.

Great job!!!! I bow to your effort of doing laundry while on vacation! :worship: You're my hero!!! I always tell myself I'll do this but don't end up wanting to spend the time doing so. Great job!

Cracking up at Jordan and the texting. I was a HS volleyball coach last year and was AMAZED what those girls could do with those phones. They are convinced their teachers don't know they do that during class all day. Ahhh - teenagers. Sounds like Jordan's a smitten-kitten.

Sorry you had to give up having the yummies at Goofy's - that's the one thing I told myself we would try this past trip and we never did. Like I need it...

As far as I'm concerned you can draw this bad boy trippie out as long as you want. These TRs serve as my small dose of the WDW heroine I need to get me by everday until I make it back there myself! :teacher:
