Was that too much? Or just enough? :confused3

Another great installment pretty lady. Can't wait to read more! :teeth:

Loved it as usual. Can't wait to read about Dh and his fit. Wonder what that is all about?!?

A new episode from UMama is my perfect little pick me up! Are you sure we don't have the same child in two different bodies? I think it is possible!

Can't wait to hear about DH's flippy fit!

P.S. What a sweet and thoughtful gift from TwinkieMama! It was so nice of her to do that and we all thank her because it helped your trip reporting!

Ohhhh.... a cliff hanger. Very good! Very, very good! :thumbsup2
I can't wait to read more!
You know I ate like 20 of the Zebra domes and didn't feel a darn thing! :confused3

Our skipper is a nerdy, pooh sized, thinning haired guy with the giggles.

"We are now approaching the entrance of an ancient temple. It was dedicated to the goddess Shir Lee, which is why we now call it the Shirley Temple. But it’s dark in there, so we now call it the Shirley Temple Black!” I say, “OOOOOH!” and Pooh says, “Lady, would YOU like to take the mic on the next cruise?” If he ONLY knew! He had said it mock-snarky so I said, “No, you did JUST GREAT! I loved your cruise!” I think I made Pooh’s day!

Everyone except my DH and I exited the craft and I went up to Pooh and told him how wonderful he was (he DID entertain me!) and he posed in a picture with ME! With his hand still on the throttle … "ME and Pooh"...

P9040636-1.jpg

We had this same skipper last week, but someone must have said something to him about the "just kidding" and "get it?" because he wasn't doing it last week, although my DS9 did say he was giggling alot.

He also asked DS9 to be the guest skipper as we went through the Shir-Lee Temple, that made DS's day because he thought he really steered us through that temple.

Are you sure Norah was sleeping? Or maybe she was actually passed out - can you send me the recipe for zebra domes, I could serve them at my daughter's next slumber party or serve them to my husband on date night, then when he crashes I could get more DIS time :stir:

And Disneyland Mama, you did not "feel" anything because of your "cocktails to go"! :rotfl2:

What a great present from TM!!!

Wow. Twinkie really did that for you? How thoughtful. Of course, I was also very impressed by the attempted Utah Family Taffy Give Away too. Even if you couldn't find anyone to give it to and had to eat it all by yourselves. It was a nice thought. We hated Boma. Mostly because our taste buds have been beaten down by American food posing as authentic. Like Taco Bell and Pizza Hut. Thus, we simply cannot enjoy authentic ethnic food. Oh well, I will live without eating at Boma's.

I told her I was doing a dining report on BOMA and I have a readership of 107,000 (members of the DISboards if every single member
reads…IT COULD HAPPEN! Stop rolling your eyes at me, they’ll stick!)

:rotfl2: oh wait, my eyes are stuck! help!!!!

I think I figured out what my dream job is! Food critique! But I’m not that picky so I’m a Food Eater and Teller!

not a bad job, either....

For a pittance $18.00 you can wedge as many pieces and parts into an over-sized Chinese take-out container (only ONE side has to close, FYI!) I gathered the parts I wanted and DH expertly puzzeled together a staggering amount of parts into our container! We didn’t need to waste the space in the container for the actual potato because we had bought some at Walmart for less than $5.00. Although we got a TON in that box, there was a lot more to be had…Cruella, Malificent, Mr. Incredible, Ariel, Peter Pan, Pirates, Cinderella,Buzz, Minnie, etc. I had a feeling ;) we’d be back for more!

but when you get home to actually give the Mr. Potato Head parts to the dear children? I am just asking because ours have somehow ended up in TwinkieDaddy's closet :confused3

So then we HOPPED back onto a bus to take us back to the resort…by hopped, I mean, folded the stroller, gathered the camera bag, purchases, cooler with 4 inches of warm water floating in it with warm dietPepsi unhappily not being drunk, diaper bag, purse, tri-pod, etc! AND our now sleeping sweet angel in my arms and shoved the whole kit and kaboodle down the 7 inch wide bus isles to the very back were there’s enough room for 2 people yet 6 occupy that space as we shove back even further for 18 more hot sticky pissy standing room only passengers to board! Ya know why I have the sleeping angel in MY arms? Because EVERY bus has one or two sweet gentlemen who nicely offer their primo seats to a overburdened mama with a sleeping baby…which I decline…but they insist…so I graciously thank them and secretly love the perks of being a mama! :sad2:

Great description of the ever popular sport of "hopping a bus" with multiple small children. My favorite is when three of my four fall asleep standing in line waiting for the bust so we juggle as described above only I have 2 kids more lofted over my shoulders than snuggled into my arms while DH has one kid and the stroller (which he can open and close with one hand.... mad skittles he has)

It contained lots of cool trip reporting things like a notebook to write in (good because mine was hashed!) and a lime colored receipt file…ended up being SOOO handy, and some stickers and DVC coasters (so I can pretend! Hey, I’m STILL using them!) And a cute hair ribbon thingy for Norah with a note saying it will add a couple inches of height to her so she can go one more rides!!!! I was SOOO happy! I felt so loved!!!!! Twinkie, that really did mean the world to me and I’m tearing up just thinking about it! THANK YOU again, infinity!
So much to say here: but mainly you are welcome! I had so much fun putting it together and thought of you through my whole trip! You are such a treasure... both as a writer and a mom and a friend. My life is richer because of you.
Sidenote: I told her NOT to actually use the hairbow to sneak Norah onto rides... just that it would work.... ya know, just for informational purposes.

I re-organized my TR into my new nice notebook…and noticed some funny details like a barf bag for Mission Space (just in case) and instructions to “ride the orange side!” She had also included some funny TR writing advice..including “end each chapter with a cliff hanger” which I haven’t quite gotten the hang of!
You see why my panties were in a wad over the lateness of the package? She had mentioned how she wanted a notebook for her pretend food critic/theme park critic activities. So in typical geek fashion I put together a "trip reporter kit".... even maps for everywhere so I was hoping she would get it when she checked in. Note to self: priority mail isn't much of a priority. But during my long wait I did get to meet some nice people at the Port Orleans Riverside front desk. :wave2: Hi guys! I miss talking to you every shift change!

I filed my receipts as my boys put their PJ’s on and brushed their teeth.
see- she is a geek too! ( ya Utah!)

Stay tuned for my mild-mannered DH’s major FLIPPY FIT :furious: !….(how’s that?)

ahh, very good grasshopper......

Wow! I have a great memory! No, I had an official looking notebook I kept writing in! I’d take a bite of something and then jot something down…take another bite and write some more. Then I strolled up over to the buffet and jotted more down…like I owned the place! I thought about every bite before writing my opinion. I made a chef nervous or maybe just curious because she came out to me and asked me what in the "sam hill" I was doing. ..

Great installment, UM! I was afraid the fam would be completely freaked out by the weird food at Boma but sounds like I was wrong. We'll book it next trip and tell them a well-read food critic highly recommends it! BTW,wish I'd had that tip about photographing the screaming baby about.......17 years ago! ;)

I love waking up to the smell of a fresh TR! Love the pic of Norah - her lips look just fine here.

Go TM! That was really sweet of you. :thumbsup2

Now that you've got us all hanging off the cliff -- get back to writing!! popcorn::

::yes:: That's me nodding along with your description of the traveling caravan that is a stroller + acroutrements, multiple bags, and assorted other necessities when touring with kiddos. I've only got one, and I swear I have the same amount of stuff to lug around!

Loved your review of Boma! :thumbsup2 So cool that this was your next installment - after reading Gmax and others' descriptions, I just rearranged our Dec. schedule again to book Boma - and I actually got the ADR at the time I wanted! :cool1: I'm all over the posing-as-a-food-critic gig; got any tips for me?!

DH is about to have a flippy-fit??? Staying tuned!

UtahMomma!
I've said it once...........
I've said it twice..........
This is the best trip report I have ever read.
Your family is SO adorable.
I can't wait to read more.

U-Mama- great job!!!!!

I'm lovin' it! (The same way I'm lovin' my large McDonald's DIET COKES so I can play the new monopoly game!) :cool1:

Anyhoo - Great trippy!

I can SO relate to the whole bus thing. When our family went last Jan. we had two larger strollers and four adults (my parents went with us!). Luckily, two of us could take the girls and two of us could take the strollers but it sure was a pain and we certainly were noticed with all our gear loading and unloading. We got it down to a science after a couple of days but it sure is part of the memory involved with the trip! :cheer2: We went back this January with just the four of us and the same two strollers and DH and I did it by ourselves and we were PROS! PROS I tell ya!!!!! :woohoo: We even had one family applaud our speedy loading and unloading with two girls asleep on our shoulders and our stroller acrobatics!!

My oldest DD5 was notorious for throwing a hissy when we sat down at any restaurant any time. You could practically watch her go from this :cheer2: to this :furious: . So I completely feel your pain with Norah. We also took pics of our girls throwing their fits and when we look back on pics those are actually their favorites. :confused3

Twinkiemama - What a nice gift!!! You are so thoughtful!!!!

I am so jealous of your fun at Tea with the Tiaras! I have now read each and every account of it and I would love to do something like that with DISers one day. You all sounded like you had sooooo much fun and good for you all for wearing your tiaras!!!!

Keep it coming U-Mama - it's great!!! :thumbsup2

Oh, my gosh, I am SO late to the party here but just wanted to say that I've spent the last couple of DAYS reading through the pre-pre-pre-trip report, the UtahMama Pre-Trip Craft Tips, the pre-trip reports, and the actual, real trip report and I've been loving every minute of it! It's been a slow week and I'm easily amused, what can I say? So, I've read 58 PAGES of posts and we're on what, Day 2? :rotfl2: I have a feeling you're going to keep amusing me for quite awhile, UM! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful family and your trip with us. I'm looking forward to the next installment!

JUST getting all 6 of us and our gear (strolller, diaper bag, cooler, 3 misty fans, mugs, tri-pod, fanny pack, camera bag, purse, gift shop purchases…) ON the bus is a minor undertaking! Perhaps a small-ish miracle of sorts.?)

This would be the main reason I didn't take my first trip with the kids until my twin girls were 9 and my son was 6!

They each had a fanny pack with a water bottle (refilled when empty at water fountains) & snacks. I had the back pack with the rest of the "stuff", (which DH helped carry sometimes) and a camera.

Hands free, no hassle...worked like a charm. :rainbow:

:drinking1 Drinking a Diet Pepsi to you and your perseverance for the week with all the extra "stuff" to lug!

You must have very strong muscles! :woohoo:

Can't wait to read more!!!! :thanks:
