You ARE a bee-u-ti-ful Butterfly!!! I am loving the pictures of everyone else but what about you?? Hmmm?

I like the decor of the Contemporary. It is mod!

Oh, I almost forgot....forgive me if this is tender...I simply cant resist...because I LOVED your opinions about...
DID you check your room for buggies when you entered????? :rotfl2:

AND! I totally want THAT desert....No, not the one with the caramel-corn on top (that would put me in a diabetic coma) the S'mores one you ridiculed for it's size. That's the one I've been covetting since I've been on this dang-gum diet reading the dining reports....Size isnt everything ( in desserts) ya know ;)

I will try to find a pic of me.... I had the camera the whole time.... Hmmm.

I liked the decor, too... No flames please!!!

Yes, UtahMama, I DID check my room (and my DB's room). I don't EVER stay ANYWHERE without checking! :teeth:

Thanks for reading!

I thought the inside of the 50's PT cafe was really cool. Maybe you will, too!

We waddled out of 50’s PT...

We all knew we needed at least an hour before we tried anything intense like Rock’n’ Roller Coaster or Tower of Terror. We strolled along looking for something tame to do.

We walked to the back of the park towards the Lights! Motors! Action! arena and then while walking back perused through the Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream exhibit. This is a great walk thru attraction. We didn’t stay for the movie, but the memorabilia alone was worth the trip. If you have reservations about a walk thru exhibit, check this one out... It is beyond awesome!!!

My favorite Movie.

Next we decided on the Little Mermaid show. We needed the time to sit down and let our food digest. I honestly don’t know if it was the food stupor I was in or the first day of Disney magic, but I actually didn’t hate this show. The little mermaid actually sang and the blacklight fish were great!

After exiting (and calming my nephew down from the half naked lady excitement) we headed over to the thrill rides. Now I am a roller coaster junkie. I love them. All of them (except the spin and puke carnival rides). I always look forward to the big rides whenever we go to a park – any park. These are no exception. DN desperately wanted to ride Rockin’ Roller Coaster and we obliged. It ROCKED!

I saw this on the way in... I think this is hilarious!

Next was the other thrill ride located conveniently to RNRC, affectionately known as Tora! Tora! Tora! We got in line, made our way through the gardens, by the fountain, around the side of the hotel, and finally into the lobby. The line was moving too fast at this point for me to get any good shots (I know… I shouldn’t complain about this!).

We were in the library. We watched the Twilight Zone teaser. We entered the boiler room.

This is the point where my DD totally wussed out.

She has ridden this ride no fewer than 3 or 4 times. On 2 other Disney Trips. I was so upset at her. Okay. I admit. I was pissed. I mean I just sat through the Little Mermaid show…. I didn’t wuss out on that. And that could make anyone nauseous. She did the scared-ey cat exit while the rest of us (EVEN MY SIL) rode the Tower. It rocked. I had never ridden it while it was dark outside before.

After Tora! Tora! Tora!, we headed over to the Fantasmic Theatre.

There was a late show for Fantasmic and we made it to the theatre with only about 10 minutes to spare. It wasn’t even at ¾ capacity. I have been to some shows of Fantasmic where people would give you their first born child for a seat to this show. There were rows and rows of empty seats. We stayed, sat down and watched the show. Fantasmic is a GREAT show. If you have never seen it, GO! Stay for it. You won’t be disappointed.

When the show was over we made our way to the exit and to the bus back to the Contemporary. We were tired. We wanted sleep. But….

Stay tuned to find out why I couldn't sleep at the happiest place on earth…

What I learned Today:

1. The DDP includes more food than one person should consume in one day.
2. If Fantasmic is offered twice, go to the 2nd showing. Way fewer people.
3. My DD is a wuss. (Does this count?... I might’ve already known…)

I love your TR!!!

Dontcha just hate when the other members of your "party" WUSS out!! OMGosh!
I want to not-so-nicely say something to the effect of "I just paid a gazillion dollars for this vacation now GET YOUR BUTTOCKS on this ride!" or "WUSS!!!" (NO, I havent SAID either one, but I've THOUGHT it, and worse...I have been tempted to sell my kids to the Its A Small World folks. I hear there's some openings in "Japan")

I cant wait to go check out 50's PTC! Those photos look just like my grandparents' kitchen. Probably look just like everyone's Grandparents' kitchens!

"DD wussed out"

You could always put her up for adoption. That's what I threaten to do to mine if they don't do what I want. (which never happens more than three or four times a day)

Lovin' it! And your picture of the angel food cake with berries at Prime Time convinced me - I've been trying to figure out my dessert for that meal and now I know.

:surfweb: Lovin' your report, especially the photos :thumbsup2

BTW, we're stayin' at Contemporary next month so any "extra" info you can offer abou the hotel would be appreciated.

Ok I'm hooked. This is a fun TR! :thumbsup2

I LOVED everything at the 50's PT. It was fun too!

Sausage and cheese kolaches are basically pigs in a blanket (with cheese). They are a Czech recipe. They are YUMMY!!

The Contemporary is GREAT! I loved it. It is very understated and QUIET. i never heard kids running up and down the hall. The decor was cool (I liked it). Being that close to the Magic Kingdom was way cool and the monorail stop right there was very convienient. It was VERY clean and well maintained. (They were painting the doors down the hall while we were there.)

The bathroom was weird. Inside the bathroom was another little room with the toilet and a little vanity area. But you had to go thru the bathroom area to get to it. It made it interesting with 3 basically grown people. The toilet was neat though --- The flusher was on the top of the toilet... on the lid. It made me laugh every time!! :teeth: :p

Also - if you stay in North Wing, there is a great little shortcut via the Food & Fun Center to the North Wing. This makes getting to the lobby, monorail, shops, etc. very quick. There is a set of double glass doors out the back of the Food & Fun center's eating area that leads almost directly to the North Wing.

I hope this information helps.

Absolutely love your pictures! I always have wondered what it was like to stay at the Contemporary - think it would be cool to have the monorail come thru the building. How did you like the decor? Were the rooms noisy at all? I had to chuckle when you described the toilets (how different!).

Sounds like you are having a great time (and 18 suitcases isn't too many!)

This is a terrific trip report. I must admit I was not so fond of that Fried Herb Cheese at 50's, but I love the Contemporary!

I know that trip from Houston to Orlando very well. I have driven it many times. I live in Atascocita!

I can not wait to hear the rest of your report!

The new toilets at the Polynesian are like that too! Its like a button on the lid right? Was it major flushing action at the Contemporary like it was at the Poly?! :rotfl:

OMG YES!!! I could have flushed a small child!!

Maybe it is a contingency that started with the DDP?? :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

"OMG YES!!! I could have flushed a small child!!"

Would this be called the Heimlich Manuever? :smokin:

Great report. I like what you wrote.

Love the report. We had the BEST CM at 50's PTC. Ask for Manny. He's great. Check out the link to my TR below. Goes into great detail. I even had to stand in the corner!!! Can't wait to hear more.
