Our Anniversary Week at the Happiest Place on Earth!! TR DONE 8/30 SOUVENIR POST SOON

Oh no! I had the Fiesta Margarita in the restaurant and it was pretty strong, but when my friends got it in March they said it tasted like a melted snowcone. I got the mango flavor and it was yummy, so maybe the combo of flavors is just not a good idea?! Sorry you were disappointed!! and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Have fun in NYC and celebrating w/your fam!

wonderful pictures of WS!!! What hibachi places around here do you like? We've never been to one around here! We went to one on our honeymoon and that was it! DH used to work in Hauppauge and I kept saying we had to go to Gasho (I think thats what its called) but never got there.

I'm so, so sad that you didn't like you fiesta margarita!!!! I had a strawberry one from the stand in 08 and it was soooo yummy!!! You could have gotten a buzz just from the scent of the tequila coming out of the stand!

The guy at Illuminations is too funny!!! I can only imagine the things you guys were saying :confused3 :lmao: BTW, if your sad about no Illuminations pics I just posted links to my Illuminations video from 08 in my PTR ;)

Anyway, :cool1:Happy Birthday!!! Have fun in the city tomorrow!! What are you guys doing?

Happy Birthday one day early!

Your Teppan Edo hibachi lady looks like she was so much fun!

Bummer about that margarita. How disappointing.

I was cracking up about the guy's commentary on the fireworks. Crazy!

Your pictures in Italy are great. I love the angle that you took the picture of the tower from. Ok, I seriously LOL when I read your comments about the couple at Illuminations. I'm sorry, but if someone is going to do something like that in public, they are leaving themselves open to being laughed at. :rotfl:

Happy Birthday! After the yucky margureta, it sounds like Chris had the right idea with Bud Lite!

Oh, I am so hungry after looking at your Teppan Edo pics -- we just adore it there!

The rest of your evening looks lovely -- I would like to stop and watch the Italian WS players sometime -- they sound like a hoot!

TE was gooood, I know you guys love it there! Our night was really nice. So relaxing. I would totallyyyyy recommend watching those Italian players, they were hilarioussss.

OMG!!! We sat on those little cement benches & ate CS food from the Tangierine Grill & watched Illuminations! It was the best night & view ever! :lovestruc

I wish we could have sat there! People were sitting there waiting for the show starting at like 7:15 though. I knew it would happen but I just wasn't about to sit there for almost 2 hrs! LOL I'm sure it was a perfect spot though!

Hmmm teppen edo looks like fun but of coarse im not sure if I would like n e thing to eat there....

Ummm and I really shouldn't have looks at all r pics at ur house today cuz it did kinda ruin the suprise reading ur TR

Yeah, I know you don't really like Chinese food so you probably wouldn't like Japanese food either LOL It is fun there though.

Booooooo to no surprises now :( good thing I'm almost done!

funny.....morocco is my favorite WS pavilion followed by italy. you have good taste! ;)

glad you liked teppan edo. and you're right - the servers/staff there are SO nice! remember my TR when they kept bowing and saying, 'SSSSAAAAANK YOU!" :lmao: and i agree about the food quality/quantity lacking. that could definitely be improved but i think you're paying for the atmosphere and the service there. i didn't think it was bad at all, but i've had better hibachi at a place in athens about 20 minutes from my house! having said that, i'll probably still go back to teppan edo!

Great minds think alike Dawn!

TE was good and I remember reading your TR about the "SSSSSAAAAAANK YOU!" thing and it was your TR that made us decide to eat there instead of Coral Reef! Thank you for that! I agree though, you're definitely paying for the atmosphere because there are better hibachi places. I can think of like 3 within 20 mins from my house too. but you're totally right, I still would go back to TE for dinner.

Pshaww, 38K for the castle. I like the free picture instead. Romeo and Edna looks pretty funny, you've piqued my curiousity.

My dad speaks Japanese and does a lot of travel there, hence we had Japanese exchange students growing up. It is definately their culture to be extremely polite, they are so sweet. I'm not surprised at all by their kind treatment of you.

$38k is pocket change for me....HAHA j/k R&E was hilarious, seriously if you see them performing, watch!!

Thats cool that your dad speaks Japanese. I had no idea they were so polite. That's what I love so much about the WS, it's all completely authentic!

Glad you enjoyed Teppan Edo! Looks like you had a fun time in WS. That is crazy about that castle being $38K!

TE and the WS were great. $38k? I think I'll just dream about owning that castle

I just wanted to say Morrocco looks authentic because it really is. The guy in charge over there (I don't know if he's an emperor or king or whatever) sent over his workers and designers and they actually built it.

Wow, I didn't know that! That explains a lot. That pavillion is gorgeous!

The Mickey gnomes are the only lawn gnomes I like!

Can't wait for more!! Teppen Edo looks good!! I had an ADR for there but my mom didn't want to go :sad2:

I loved those gnomes too. Too bad I'm cheap HAHA You should definitely try out TE, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Aw, looks like you guys had a great meal. I really would like to try there! That shrimp looks YUMMY! Dang it, no dessert looked good. I always look forward to that part of the meal.

You guys should definitely try it there! I think you would like it a lot. The desserts just weren't anything we really liked so we didn't want to pay. We saved it up for food later LOL

LOL, that Bud Light is looking pretty good! But geeze Chris...couldn't you have gotten something a little unusual?! You were in World Showcase! Oh well..you can try something new with B/F over break.

He was so scared to spend $ on a beer he was going to take one sip of and not like. I told him that a lot of times you can ask the CM working selling the beer what kind would be good for you. He said next time he will definitely try some more adventurous drinks!

Hahaha, that scene where the guy and girl are laying on the ground looks hilarious!

They were!!! We WILL watch them over break LOL

Oh gosh, the train set...B/F could look at that for hours. We might have to leave him. :rotfl2:

Oh sure...I just have $38,000 just laying around to buy that! :thumbsup2

$38k is half my bank acct....Juuuuust Kiddinggggg! LOL

I would want to know what the English accent sounds like to them too! hehe That would be funny.. :goodvibes

Me too I wish I could have heard them LOL

I love all your pics so far of World Showcase.. so wonderful.. I love this park so very much.
We also skipped Mary Poppins because the line was soooo long and then we never seen her again.. next time no skipping! I was really disappointed because she's my favorite.

Thank you! I say the same thing, next time we're there I'm taking it slower and I want pictures with characters!

Holy crap.. that drink looks soo yummy.

I loved the Mickey Ghome! I would of bought one- but we are in the process of moving.. to idk where.. hehe and I'm not sure if I'll have a yard or not. Where not sure if we will be renting a house or a townhouse or a apt... we are looking but its still up in the air- so I didn't want to get it and then it be a waste. Maybe next time. :goodvibes

The drink was yummmmy you would like it I think! The Mickey gnomes were so cute but I'm cheap haha You're moving but you don't know where? I'm confused! LOL

well im pretty sure that keith hasnt ever been to hibachi but i used to go to Gasho japan all the time and its so good...i read your review of TE and i totally get what you mean..ill prob try it out on my next vacation even tho those portions do look small!

Yesss I've been to Gasho in Hauppauge a bunch of times. We've tried a few others around here too and the best place is Tai Show North in East Setauket, right down the road from Stony Brook. Take Nicolls all the way down to 25, make a right and it's right on that road a little ways down. If you guys want to try a really good place, go there! The portions are huge that you have food to take home with you, not like the small TE ones LOL

I love your update! You're starting to hear more and more about Teppan Edo on the boards lately and someone I work with just got back and said they enjoyed eating there, too. Have you ever eaten at Tokyo Dining? I wonder how different it is?

LOVED all your Germany pics - it's my favorite stop in WS! (Well, until I saw Eddie the hot bartender in the Rose & Crown hahaha) I love the shows but I haven't seen the Italy one, so I promise if I see it next time I will stop to watch!

That castle is crazy. I could get a REALLY nice NEW car for less than that, LOL. It is REALLY pretty though!

Thank you! I htink you should try TE, it was good and great service. I haven't eaten at Tokyo Dining though, I'm curious about it too.

Germany is always second to Eddie HAHA If you see the Italy performers there though, watch it for sure.

The castle price is almost enough for a down payment on a house! LOL Not really on my "must purchase" list LOL

:bday: Enjoy your day! & you should do a mini TR of your nyc trip cuz i love nyc =] have a great time!

Thank you Brittney! I'll try and post some pics of our trip :)

Have a wonderful birthday tomorrow!!!

I love, love, love the picture of the sun setting and the Chinese gate -- just beautiful!

What a shame about both the chocolate pretzel and the Fiesta Margarita :(. They both looked like they should be delicious.

Thanks CP! And thank you for the compliment on the picture!

I wish they would have tasted as good as they look thats for sure. Oh well, now I know for next time!

Have fun in NYC and celebrating w/your fam!

idk, maybe I just don't like whatever kind of tequila they use. I prefer Jose Cuervo and thats definitely not what was in there LOL and thank you for the birthday wishes :)

wonderful pictures of WS!!! What hibachi places around here do you like? We've never been to one around here! We went to one on our honeymoon and that was it! DH used to work in Hauppauge and I kept saying we had to go to Gasho (I think thats what its called) but never got there.

Yes you're right! Gasho is in Hauppauge and it's good! But, if you want the best place, try Tai Show North in East Setauket (even though thats kind of a drive for you.) It's the best we've tried so far, soooo good. And they shoot Saki in your mouth mid-meal LOL For a good place closer to you have you ever tried Asian Fusion in East Quogue? They were delicious too.

I'm so, so sad that you didn't like you fiesta margarita!!!! I had a strawberry one from the stand in 08 and it was soooo yummy!!! You could have gotten a buzz just from the scent of the tequila coming out of the stand!

idk I tried each flavor and none of them were good to me. maybe i just don't like the tequila they use?!

The guy at Illuminations is too funny!!! I can only imagine the things you guys were saying :confused3 :lmao: BTW, if your sad about no Illuminations pics I just posted links to my Illuminations video from 08 in my PTR ;)

Yes, it was quite interesting listening to this guy. LOL I'm going to have to watch you Illuminations videos!

Anyway, :cool1:Happy Birthday!!! Have fun in the city tomorrow!! What are you guys doing?

Thanks girl! I've never been to Central Park so I want to go there and then we're going to go check out the Plaza Hotel and get some dinner although I'm not sure where yet.

Happy Birthday one day early!

Your Teppan Edo hibachi lady looks like she was so much fun!

Bummer about that margarita. How disappointing.

I was cracking up about the guy's commentary on the fireworks. Crazy!

Thank you Julie! The TE chef was really fun!! The margarita was just gross and nasty though. And that fireworks guy was just a freakin weirdo LOL

Your pictures in Italy are great. I love the angle that you took the picture of the tower from. Ok, I seriously LOL when I read your comments about the couple at Illuminations. I'm sorry, but if someone is going to do something like that in public, they are leaving themselves open to being laughed at. :rotfl:

Thank you! And I totally agree, those people were just begging to be made fun of...who says those kinds of things about FIREWORKS?! LOL

Happy Birthday! After the yucky margureta, it sounds like Chris had the right idea with Bud Lite!

Thank you! I think you're right, I probably should have stuck to the Bud light haha

*Happy Birthday Girl!!! Hope you had a GREAT day!!! Post pics!! :bday:party:

Thank you so much Katie!! :goodvibes

Happy Birthday Kristen!!! I wrote to you on FB too so double happy birthday! Have fun!

We're just hanging out around the condo now so I got all caught up. So sorry about the Fiesta Margarita, what a let-down. I've found that Disney waters down most of their drinks and Florida water tastes like sewage. Just turning on the tap you can SMELL the water... ugh! I don't know how people down here do it, but that couldn't have helped the drink. I'm glad you had a good night regardless, and enjoyed my favorite fireworks show of all time, Illuminations!

Can't wait for more!!

I was just in Norway Sunday trying to decide between a whopping big pretzel or a school bread. Since I was by myself at that time and didn't have anyone to help me eat it, I didn't want to pay four bucks for the pretzel, so I went for the $1.99 schoolbread. It was good, although I didn't finish it.

Happy Birthday! Hope you have/had a great day!

Happy Birthday!!

I just started reading your report yesterday and I am now all caught up. Your trip sounds like it was a great time. I love your observations about the people around you. I was cracking up at some of the stuff you wrote. :lmao: You guys sound just like my husband and I.

I have never seen Illuminations because we are always too tried to stick around:sad2:. Hopefully we will be able to stay awake long enough to see it the next time.

Cannot wait for another update :thumbsup2

Happy Birthday!!!:cake:

You got some great pictures at world showcase. Morrocco does look like the most beautiful.

I can't wait to lay my hands on one of those Grey Goose slushies! I will be sure to stay away from the margaritas.

Oh man that margarita looks soooooooo good....... however thanks to you I won't throw away $9 buying one :)

:cake: Happy Birthday even tho I already told you that this morn.... Hope your having fun in the city!!!

Happy Birthday!!!!
You're probably out having a grand ol time partying it up somewhere! Wish I was. :rolleyes1 Nah, I really need to be getting this place straight since I'm leaving soon! But what am I doing? Sitting on my rear doing nothing! Well, I am trying to catch up with my Dis reads but still. :surfweb:

Love the updates! Always do. You guys are so much fun and I can not wait to meet ya in a few weeks! I have to let ya'll know something though, I did not have the tri colored Margarita. I had the plain ol' green one with the salt rim, frozen out of the machine. Seriously it was okay. Not the best one ever but okay. The tri colored one looks a little over the top....not very Margarita like so I am thinking maybe all the crap they add to make it cute is making it taste like doody!? :confused3 Ya never know. I do know I will NEVER EVER try one of those after all the stuff I've read on here. In December I'm bringing the Margarita maker...I'll make you the best one EVER! K? It'll be a late birthday present!

*I hope we get a lady cook at Teppan Edo this time! I've never even seen one until your post. She sounds like F U N !

I am absolutely LOVING this report!!! Thanks & :bday:

Happy birthday!!

thank you girl, I got both messages! LOL I'm so jealous that you're in beautiful Orlando relaxing! I hope you guys are having the best time and I love following your updates on FB. You're probably right about the water adding to the crappy drink, I didn't even think of that! People complain about NY water but it tastes just fine to me LOL Have a great rest of your vacation and I reeeeeally cant wait for your TR!

Hey MeMom, welcome back!! I can't wait to hear all about your trip. I'm definitely planning on trying the schoolbread next time in WDW because I've heard a lot of good things. And thanks for the bday wishes!

Happy Birthday!!

Thank you and welcome to the TR! We did have such a wonderful time on the trip. We are pretty funny sometimes, not to toot our own horns or anything  Some people are just so stupid and we happen to notice LOL You should definitely see Illuminations! Such a beautiful show, you will love it.

Happy Birthday!

thanks girl!

Happy Birthday!!!:cake:

You got some great pictures at world showcase. Morrocco does look like the most beautiful.

I can't wait to lay my hands on one of those Grey Goose slushies! I will be sure to stay away from the margaritas.

Thank you! You will get a chance to see all the WS in person AND get a delicious slushie sooo soon! your trip is less than a month away, lucky!

Oh man that margarita looks soooooooo good....... however thanks to you I won't throw away $9 buying one :)

:cake: Happy Birthday even tho I already told you that this morn.... Hope your having fun in the city!!!

Yeah, I know you won't like that margarita at all, don't waste your hard earned moneyyy! and Thanks! We did have a good time in the city, I'll tell you all about it tomorrow :)

Happy Birthday!!!!

Hey girl, thanks!! I hope you had a good time in the mountains! Your trip is sooo soon and our big trip is approaching really quickly too! We can make ADRs at the end of the month which is really exciting. Maybe it was a different taste in the margarita because you only got the green one. So that could have made a difference. I'm soooo looking forward to a margarita from your machine. I'll bring the liquor, you bring the machine LOL

And the lady chef at TE was great, I hope you get her too!

I am absolutely LOVING this report!!! Thanks & :bday:

Thank you, for both comments! LOL

Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes! Chris and I had a really good time yesterday. A few weeks ago he got me my windows tinted on my new car and then he surprised me and bought me the Wii Fit too which he gave to me yesterday. He came over with bagels then I got ready and we took a train at around 2:10 to get to NYC at 3:30. First we took the subway to Central Park and walked around there for a while. It was beautiful and I'd never been there before but it was so big that we just walked a little and didn't know where we were going at all. We got gelato at the entrance which was sooo yummy, I'd never had that before either. Better than ice cream in my opinion. Then we just walked out along the edge of the park until we hit the street again and we happened to be right across from the Plaza Hotel. We went and checked out the Plaza and just felt out of place there LOL Too stuffy for us but it was gorgeous and so grand looking. Then we wanted to get back towards 34th and 5th ave to do some shopping but we ended up walking in a HUGE circle looking for the subway station we needed to be at. It was hot and sticky here yesterday which didn't make the walk fun but we were both in a good mood and in no rush so we just laughed about it. My hair was stickng to my back though which was just gross and Chris was sweating so much his shirt was like sticking to his back. Nasty but really, we took it in stride.

We finally got to the subway station and took it back and found the shops. We went into Journey's to look for shoes but didn't find anything. Then I saw Victoria's Secret so we walked over to there because I got a $10 off coupon from them for my birthday. Well I hit the motherload there. All hoodies and sweats were $25 and all tshirts were $10! I got 2 hoodies, a pair of sweats and a tshirt for $75! :woohoo: And the best thing, there's no sales tax in NYC! I can't believe I hadn't realized that ever before yesterday but its so great because here that would have cost me at least $5 more for tax. Then we left VS and went to Foot Locker where Chris got nice Nike's that were marked down to $50! And again, no tax! The last stop was Express, my new favorite store. I had a $30 off coupon from them! All their jeans were buy one get one 50% off, and plenty of other stuff was on sale too. I ended up getting 2 pairs of jeans, 2 shirts for work and 2 tank tops for $115! The 2 pairs of jeans alone would have normally cost more than that! Needless to say I was soooo happy with all my purchases. And, Chris did not complain ONCE the whole time I was shopping. I'm difficult to shop with because I can never make up my mind but he just sat there, holding my bags. I was very appreciative of him for that :lovestruc

Then we were starving so we walked back into Times Square. I wasn't planning on eating at one of the normal Times Square tourist places but it was after 7:00, we were hungry and sweating and sticky again so I said forget it and we ended up at Planet Hollywood. Chris and I had eaten there 2 years ago for my 20th birthday and I remember liking it so it was good enough. Air conditioned and good food. We ate at the bar so we didn't have to wait. I ordered a strawberry margarita and shrimp fajitas and Chris got a "Gorillas in the Mist" (basically a mudslide with banana liqeuor in it) and a bacon cheeseburger. He's named the Gorillas in the Mist his new fave drink and wants to learn how to make it LOL We also got boneless buffalo wings for our appetizer. Everything was really good except for my shrimp tasted really weird. Wasn't a big deal though because the bartenders were SO nice and SO attentive. I just made the fajitas without the shrimp and just used all the toppings they gave me LOL

After dinner I said we needed to make one more stop at World of Disney because they were going out of business. We walked from I believe 45th & 7th (I think thats the address of Planet Hollywood) to 55th and 5th and the damn store was closed!! We were again sticky and my hip was killing me for some reason, along with my feet. I told Chris there was no way I was walking back to the train station at like 34th st and was getting us a taxi. We walked up a little ways and one of the bicycle taxis was right behind us. I asked the guy how much to take us to Penn Station and he said $15. We only had $13 in cash left but he took us anyway! It was such a cool ride! I'd never ridden on one of those things before. I give this guy ALOT of credit too, he was pumping those peddles and we were going pretty fast, in and out of traffic. The most impressive thing, he was a tiny guy! I felt so bad because it was us 2 (and we're heavy!) plus our shopping bags and this guy was really giving it his all. But we were still flying along. Great experience and we felt so bad we didn't have more cash to give the guy! We made it to Penn Station at the Long Island Railroad side 15 mins before a train was coming, perfect timing. We grabbed drinks and like 2 mins later, our track was announced. We got on the train at 9:15 and I was home showering by 11. It was a great day, we both agreed and a wonderful way to spend my birthday! :goodvibes

**Sorry there are no pictures! I had my camera with me but decided I just wanted to relax and not be taking out my camera every 2 mins to take a picture. I apologize to everyone for that!**
