Our Anniversary Week at the Happiest Place on Earth!! TR DONE 8/30 SOUVENIR POST SOON

What a crappy fridge ordeal!!! I would have felt so bad if I did that to someone. There is no way that I would do that knowing that someone was waiting for it after me!

IOA looks really fun!! Maybe we will have to plan a day there !!

Great update.
Yes, I'm the one who doesn't get the whole ON line thing. LOL! I'm sure it's just from where you are at in the country. LOL!

I so want to go to Universal and IOA. Last time I was at Universal IOA was just being built, so it's been a long time. If we go next year, I think I am going to make a day for at least Universal (which I liked much better than Hollywood Stuidos at the time) and maybe try IOA too for something different.

 you're actually right about the IN line ON line thing though!

Universal and IoA are for sure fun. I will definitely be scheduling days for them in the future. I think you could get done with all of IoA and most of Universal in one day actually, as long as they're both as empty as IoA was when we were there! I would say to definitely do it :thumbsup2

First, on your photobucket issues I HATE PHOTOBUCKET!! Uggghhhh! So stupid!

I use webshots now and its MUCH easier, it doesn't rearrange your pictures and uploading them is easier!

I'm so sorry about all the trouble with the fridge! UGH! How terrible! It's so nice that that lady screwed up the whole swap for everyone else cause she was lazy!!!!

IOA looks neat!! I'm not big on rollercoasters so I'll skip the Hulk if we every make it to IOA. Plus when I was a kids I was petrified of the Hulk!!! Literally petrified! I used to have a reoccuring nightmare that he came crashing through my bedroom wall :scared1: Weird, I know!

Can't wait to read more!!

I totally hate photobucket. Is webshots the same type of site? I would so try it if it is.

I was really mad I was wasting my time on this whole fridge issue!! What an inconsiderate woman before me! :headache:

IoA is cool but its definitely filled with more thrill type rides there, much more thrilling than Disney. Thats so funny about the Hulk dream! :rotfl: I'm sure it wasn't too funny then though!

I would think that most people have the decency to look out for others and be considerate and not lazy but apparently with this whole fridge thing, they dont!

IoA was fun! Both Universal parks should definitely be given a chance by Disney lovers :thumbsup2

When I last left off we were heading to the other side of IoA to ride Dueling Dragons. I don't know if anyone's ever ridden Dueling Dragons before but it's such a cool ride! Here's two pictures I found of it just by doing a Google search so they're not mine.

DD.jpg

dueling20dragons.jpg

There's two sides of the ride, fire and ice (red and blue) and they load and then shoot off at the same time. You come reeeeally close to one another at times and when you're actually riding the coaster, it looks like you're going to collide with one another. Definitely really awesome if your a rollercoaster junkie like Chris and I.

So we walked over to the ride and had to put our stuff in a locker again, then walked the mile and a half to the actual loading station. Holy moley, I was like out of breath when we finally got to there, the queue is ridiculously long!! This is where they were doing a lot of the Harry Potter section work so maybe it had something to do with that because we were walking through a lot of areas that had big walls up blocking us from seeing all the progress. Once you get to the inside part of the line though, its pretty cool though. It's really dark and looks like a cave and then once you get almost to the end you pick your side, fire or ice. We again walked RIGHT on. It took much longer to actually walk the queue than it did to get on and ride the coaster.

So we rode and of course the ride was sooooo fun! As we were walking out we saw a little door that had a sign above it that said "This way to ride again" or something like that. I didn't know if it was real but Chris and I and some other people walked through it and it was legit! I was relieved to not have to walk through the ridiculously long queue again! It was only day 3 and my feet were really bothering me already, even though I was wearing my Nike Shox this day. So we walk through again and again we pretty much walked right on the coaster. We chose the red side the first time so we chose the blue side the second time and waited to get the front the second time too. OMG, the front was wayyyy cooler! Unlike Everest, getting the front enhances the ride alot. Riding in the front really makes it look like you're going to collide with the other half of the coaster even more scary!! Rollercoaster lovers, RIDE DUELING DRAGONS!

When we got off we went to grab the stuff from the locker again and it wouldnt let us open it without inserting $3! We must have went over the 25 free minutes by like ONE MINUTE I swear to you it couldn't have been longer than that! So we grabbed an employee and told him that our money was inside the locker so we couldnt pay without getting inside first. He was really nice and opened the locker for us and didn't make us pay. It was so dumb though, they make you lock everything up so how could we pay to get it back?

Anyway, took a bathroom break and then headed over to this Jurassic Park ride (not sure of the name of it anymore and didn't write it down!)

026.jpg

I thought it was going to be similar to Dinosaur at AK but it was actually a water/flume ride. Again we had to lock our stuff up in a locker and walked through the queue where again we waited about 1 minute to get on a boat and get on the ride. I was going to put my poncho on but I saw people coming off without being TOO wet so I chanced it. So we got on the boat and went through the ride which was pretty cool. You go through a forest on the boat and when you come around the corners and stuff dinosaurs pop out of the water and the forest at you. Then you go up a ramp and then down the flume part which luckily we didn't get very wet at all. The people in the front of the boat however weren't so lucky!!

This is coming out of the Jurassic park area and the FATTEST picture I have ever taken in my life. I can't believe I'm actually putting it on here :guilty:

024.jpg

We had been in the park for less than two hours at this point and had ridden both major rollercoasters twice and the Jurassic Park ride once! There was NO ONE in this place. We walked over to the next area which was called Toon Lagoon.

025.jpg

It was starting to get pretty hot now so we thought it was ok to ride a water ride now. We got in the line for Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls.

027.jpg

Now I saw people getting off of this ride who were SOAKED! So before we put our stuff in the locker I whipped out my red poncho. Chris was too cool to put his on and just made fun of me for wearing mine the whole time LOL We waited on line for about 5 minutes maybe and got in the boat. It was your basic flume ride with all Dudley Do-Right theming. Since I'm not too familiar with Dudley Do-Right it wasn't extra appealing to me. Then we go down the big flume and got wet! Very wet! Good thing I had my poncho on ;) Chris didn't and his shorts and socks were soaked! Should have worn the poncho

Then we walked over to the other water ride in Toon Lagoon called Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges. This ride is similar to Kali River Rapids in AK. After waiting about five minutes we got. We all took off our socks and shoes and put them in the round middle section which had a plastic cover over it. I was wearing the poncho again, Chris was not. Dummy. This ride was really fun but there was NO way to escape getting soaked! We were all drenched (well, my poncho was) by the time it was over. When it was over we grabbed our shoes and socks and walked over to a little area in the sun to dry off a bit.

By now we were getting hungry and it was a little after 11 so we decided to get lunch. We walked a little further into Marvel Superhero Island and walked into Comic Strip Cafe for lunch. I decided to get fish and chicken with fries and Chris wanted a cheeseburger and fries. We wanted to sit outside in the sun to dry some more so I went outside and grabbed a table (there was only one other family out there so not like it was a fight LOL) while Chris waited for the food. I think here is where we waited on the longest line of the day. There were only like 4 people in front of us on line and it took like 15 minutes. Anyway, he finally comes out with the food. I got some food porn but I took a few bites of mine first...woops!

028.jpg

029.jpg

Ew. Ewwww. Ew. This food was bad. Like I was nauseous after eating. It takes a lot for me to not eat something and this was the limit. I ate some of the fish and it just had a weird, nasty taste to it. The chicken was edible but was terribly dry. The fries were worse than the frozen store brand ones my mom buys sometimes. Chris of course ate his burger but he'll eat nearly anything. He said it wasn't that good though. I was disappointed because I was definitely hungry. I think thats why I ate any of it in the first place. Now we needed to decide where we were going to head next. This is Chris mapping out our game plan LOL

030.jpg

Up next: some shopping, another ride and "I'm not feeling so well..."

Great update. So it sounds like Universal/IOA doesn't allow you to take any bags on the rides. That kind of sucks. I wouldn't want to be paying 3 bucks every tim to retrive my camera and purse/bag.

So either my TR has seriously gone down hill in the quality department or people really just don't care about IoA. Soooo I'm going to try my best to finish up our IoA adventures right now so I can move back on to Disney things because the rest of the trip is strictly Disney!

I last left off after our gross lunch. It was sitting in my stomach like a rock so Chris and I looked at the map and decided to keep heading around in a circle to the Superhero section. I thought Chris's face was going to get stuck in the smile position because he was in his glory here. It was alllllll superhero themed with superhero shops and all. When we walked over to this area the X-Men characters were out signing autographs. There weren't too many people really lining up though. I asked Chris if he wanted his picture with them but he said no.

031.jpg

This is Dr. Doom's Fearfall or something. We had plans to go on this a little later.
032.jpg

We decided to go onto a Spiderman themed ride at this point so we got on line for it. The posted wait time was 20 mins so it wasn't too bad. This is a picture from the queue. It was themed like a newspaper office.

033.jpg

And some crappy ones of Chris and I

034.jpg

035.jpg

Then you got into another room that had a big screen on it showing Spiderman clips.
036.jpg

This is totally irrelevant but Chris got this tattoo back in like March for his mom. She passed away in 2004 when Chris was only 19 and his brother was 16. If you can't read it, it says "Till we meet again" and then in the middle of the cross it says "Mother"
037.jpg

So we finally got to the front of the line and grabbed the 3D glasses and we were off. Well ordinarily this ride probably would have been a lot of fun. But when you have a brick of nasty food sitting in your stomach, its not fun at all. I felt so gross when we got off. I told Chris I needed to sit down in the sun because I was freezing. So we picked a bench and just sat down for a while. He went and grabbed me a coke with lots of ice because I wanted something cold and sweet. The sun felt good and again, the X-Men characters came out. It was only like 12:30, maybe 1 at this point and our bus back to the resort was not until 3. We were going to go on the Dr. Doom ride like I mentioned earlier but I didn't think my stomach could tolerate it. We decided to just head around and walk through some shops.

Chris ended up buying a Punisher t-shirt and a Wolverine figurine thingy. I got a toy for my dog and a cup for my brother. I don't have pictures, I'll take them and post them at the end. Here are a few shopping pictures though.

The Simpson's blue Christmas tree
039.jpg

I loveeee love love the Grinch!!
040.jpg

041.jpg

Love me some Shrek too!
042.jpg

We wasted as much time as possible in the stores and it was still only like 1:45 so we decided to walk over to the Dr. Suess area again and ride the Cat in the Hat ride. Not one person was on line in front of us so we hopped right on. It was a really cute and colorful ride but it whips you around a lot, kind of like Toy Story Mania but much more often. Again, wasn't good for my stomach. It was like 2 now so we just sat down again and decided to sit and wait. Chris ran over and grabbed a churro and a frozen coke which he had been craving. These were gooooood.
044.jpg

While we were sitting tinkgurl texted me again and we were talking for a while. I was telling her how Chris and I had no plans for the rest of the night and how I was thinking maybe we could try and see if anyplace had a dinner ressie open. I mentioned Whispering Canyon Cafe to her and she said it was really good there and we would love it!

Then we walked over to the CityWalk area because we still had time to kill. We walked into a few shops over there including a really cool shop called Hart and Huntington. It's actually a tattoo shop and a clothing shop owned by pro BMXer and Pink's husband Carey Hart and some other BMXer whose last name is Huntington LOL So much cool stuff in there but it was expensive.

We walked out and I decided to call Disney dining and see if WCC had any avaibility. I whipped out the cell phone and in a few minutes got through to a CM who told me they only had one opening and it was for 9. We didn't really wanna eat that late but I took it anyway and just figured we'd head over there early and see if we could get seated.

Finally it was like 2:45 so we headed over to the bus stop to catch the bus back to ASMo. The "bus" pulls up after a few minutes and it was just a van but there were only 6 of us on it so it wasn't a big deal. The van driver didn't shut up the whole ride and it had the air conditioner cranking so high, I was shivering! Anyway we were soon back to ASMo and both climbed into bed and took a nap! We were shot and realized we both had gotten sunburn too.

Up next: Whispering Canyon Cafe dinner with Jailbird Jessie!

Why'd you leave IOA so early? I would have stayed late...of course your tummy felt bad so I get it. Can't wait for the WCC update!

Hello

I just found your TR and I'm absolutley LOVING it! I'm only on page 9, so I have some catching up to do, but I wanted to add a few comments before I moved on.

First of all I LOVE all your pictures, you and your BF make a cute couple. I'm glad you were able to make your photos a little larger, it really makes a difference......

The very 1st Disney Resort I stayed at was the ASMO back in 1999, so I'm really enjoying all the pictures you took there. Brings back a LOT of wonderful memories.

I just got done reading your post about your dinner at Earl of Sandwich, and the pictures are KILLING me. I love myself a good sandwich, but I'm currently 3 1/2 months pregnant and I'm not allowed to eat any kind of Cold Cut sandwich throughout my entire pregnancy, so of course I'm craving it like crazy. Your pictures are making me salivate.... Right after I deliver the baby I'm making my husband rush to Qizznos or Subway.

Well, I'm going to continue on with your report. I'm excited to read the rest. Thanks so much for sharing, your getting me super excited for our next trip. :thumbsup2

Congratulations Sorry no Cold Cut Sandwichs Are you having high blood presure?

Hi Kristen!
I started reading your TR today and have really enjoyed it. You looked like you were having a great time! It's really great to go with your Sig-O (significant other). I went with mine last August and am going again this August (10 weeks baby!). I'm a teacher also and wish you belated congratulations on your finishing of the semester and on your grades!
I look forward to hearing more about your trip!

P.S.- I love the tattoo Chris got. My mother suffered a severe heart attack this past fall, and she was lucky enough to survive, but for a few hours there, I thought I might be in a much more devastating position. What a wonderful way to keep his mother's memory alive! It's very sweet.

I'm still here! I think my PTR is losing readers too. :rotfl::confused3 Anyways...the Dueling Dragons look cool! That was another one I was too chicken to do when we went to IOA. I might have to try that one next time we go there.

I'm sorry if you think we are leaving :confused3. We are still around just waiting to see and hear more:goodvibes

Congratulations Sorry no Cold Cut Sandwichs Are you having high blood presure?

Thank you :) Nope, no high blood presure. Just have to avoid foods that are high risk for listeria. Which includes deli meats. :(

Although, sometimes I feel like my blood pressure sky rockets a million times a day. My first pregnancy I was happy allll the time, this pregnancy I'm a walking time bomb, anything and everything seems to set me off. :furious: My poor DD and DH. :confused3 I was told NO two pregnancies are the same and OHHHH Boy, am I believing it. :lmao:

I'm not sure if I've posted yet, but I've been reading along the whole time. I'm enjoying your report!

Oh I understand Both my pregnancies I had everything you could get . And I am happy to say I have two very healthy boys. One is 9 and the other is 3:goodvibes Relax and just do what you need for your little joy on the way.:flower3:

I'm still here! I just have not had as much time online lately because I leave in 2 DAYS for our trip. I have been so busy, but I have been trying to check in at night. My PTR is slowing down too. Maybe everyone is out enjoying the summer. :confused3

Dueling Dragons is the bomb. The first time we rode it, we got the front seat. I seriously thought we were going to crash during the loop part. I have to say that my favorite ride in that park is Spiderman. I wish you would have felt better when you went on it. I could ride that over & over again.

We enjoyed tinkgurl's updates while you were down there.

Those Disney naps are some goooood naps!

I was going to ask if you ended up going to Whispering Canyon, but by the title of your next post, I got the answer. We're going to be eating there on August 1st. It is Trent's favorite place to eat, and he eats his money's worth!

We're still reading, but between summer school and VBS, this has been a busy week with not much Dis time.

my TRs are kinda quiet too. probably just people out enjoying their summer. they'll be back in the air conditioning in about a week!

i can't wait to try IOA someday. it will probably be awhile though since our next trip might be with a little one. i wouldn't want to ride all that stuff by myself.

so sorry you got sick! i hate that. but i'm the same way. i have a sensitive stomach and riding roller coasters doesn't help but i love them!

the locker thing would've gotten on my nerves. what a pain!

i don't know why but this picture cracks me up! :lmao:

As I have been reading peoples trip reports it seems like everyone has gotten a stomach ache one time or another on their trip! I have a sensitive stomach so I am worried about getting sick on my trip! Oh well you can't plan for that can you?

How did I miss a whole page of your report. I had to go back and reread. Anyway. Great pics of IoA. Chris' Tat - awesome ink. Hpw sweet is that?
Can't wait to hear about WCC dinner. I wonder if it's too late for us to get a ressie there - we leave in 30 days. I guess it's worth a try.:confused3

Woo, another mention of me! :woohoo: Hahaha.

Whoa, that Fearfall thing looks crazy!

Yummy! Churros! :)

That's too bad lunch was gross. :guilty:
