Our Anniversary Week at the Happiest Place on Earth!! TR DONE 8/30 SOUVENIR POST SOON

I like the pic you took of Chris by the sign. He seems like a fun generous (wii) boyfriend. :goodvibes If ya'll get married at Disney I'll do your pictures for free! :lovestruc

Okay...FOTLK is one we have passed on the past few years and we really love it too. This year it's a must see. That and the Tiki Room birds. That sucks that your camera died. I would freak out! I wonder what the technical difficulties were. Maybe the spiders fell out and wouldn't go back in. :rotfl2:

Great update!!! :thumbsup2

:tinker:Good luck Chris on getting the car! :wizard:

Thanks! It was a no-go...AGAIN though :guilty:

It definitely is gorgeous! I love it! I don't know if I'm going to be able to keep this secret!

Try your best! Your kids and DH will be thrilledddd!

I hope your parents have a fabulous time down in Orlando and enjoy their meal at the Yachtsman.

Thanks CP! They're definitely having a good time but they said its HOTT!

Chris is certainly a fun generous (wii) boyfriend! Theres a lot of guys who would go to Disney and be bums the whole time but he'll get into anything and really just eats it up. I know Sidney is like that too from what you say! A Disney wedding would be soooo amazing...we'll see what happens in some years LOL Your pictures would be worth it to get married down there alone! :goodvibes

You guys definitely have to hit up FotLK this time. We didn't do the Tiki birds this time but we'll have to hit them in November. I'm thinkin I should be okay since they're fake birds  My camera died because 1) it sucks 2) it eats batteries 3) i'm a moron and didn't have the extra pair fully charged :headache:

Thanks!!

I hope that wasn't aimed at us English, I'd like to think we're clean compared to the rest of Europe!!

oh, no, of course not. most stinky people i've encountered didn't speak english. now of course some americans DO stink as well, as i'm sure some english people are guilty too!

OMG you couldn't be more right. And the foreign women don't shave. I saw this one Spanish girl waiting on line in Epcot and seriously I've never seen legs like this. Spanish people are hairy! Her legs were disgusting! But so true about the lack of deodorant. I'm all for the courtesty video on the flight!

i will never understand the whole not shaving thing. even some really liberal american women do that (an ex-roommate of mine did). i've always looked at shaving as a PRIVILEGE. who wants hairy legs and armpits???? :scared: you know it has to be itchy.

Thats ashame about the car! Don't let him give up keep trying it will happen! :thumbsup2

I agree!! Imagine not shaving your armpits? I would be scratching under my arms like a monkey all day! :rotfl:

Thanks! He'll try again in a few months I'm sure :thumbsup2

So before I update, I have a little news everyone! After reading the joint PTR going on with OneTreeHillAddict, hlrababy, Goofy22 and many more for their Nov/Dec trip I really was wishing we could go to meet everyone. I've never had a Dis meet before and the planning between all of them sounded like soooo much fun. Plus, I knew that more of the Christmas decorations would be up if we waited. I knew that going before Thanksgiving we would definitely miss out on the Osborne lights in DHS and lots more. I was a little worried that pushing back our dates would interfere with my finals for school but in thinking about it, finals aren't usually until the 3rd week of December, the 2nd full week at the earliest.

After a little persuasion from the PTR I went over and saw how much it would be for us to stay Nov 29- Dec 5...66 points at AKV Kidani Village! Actually 4 points less than we were already paying for but adding an extra night! So I emailedTara (eventer98) who I was renting the points from and asked her if she could call DVC and check the availibility for the different dates. After she got my email she called DVC and then called me and told me that 4 of the 6 nights were available and she could waitlist the other 2 nights which she was confident would come through by November. So I thanked her a million times and had her go ahead and change the dates! We're now going for 6 nights from November 29-December 5!! The only thing that I am a little upset about is we won't be there for Chris's actual birthday like we were going to be. However, he could really care less! It doesn't matter to him at all and since we're saving a little bit of money, he REALLY doesnt mind! :rotfl: I'm so happy! We're going to have our first Dis meet!!! Ok so on with the TR...
------------------------------------------------------------------------
*My camera was dead for the rest of the night so this post won't have any pictures :sad2: I'm going to try and finish up day 2 so we can start up day 3 on my next update...WITH PICTURES! :)

When I last left off we had just fought the parade masses to get to the exit of AK and left. We left AK and quickly hopped on a bus and got back to ASMo. This was one good thing about the All-Stars...close to AK! I just hated being the last bus stop of the 3 resorts. Anyway we got back to the resort at around 4pm. We got back to the room and again I was pondering over this bounceback offer! (this isn't so exciting anymore since you all know what happens with this LOL) So we talked about it a little more and Chris was saying yeah, we should call and see how much it would cost. Not tonight though. We decided tonight we would head over to the Boardwalk for some nighttime fun!

After we freshened up we went down to the bus stop at about 4:45 and hopped on a bus to the Magic Kingdom! Let me tell you, what a tease to be SO CLOSE to the MK and not be able to go in and know inside that I wouldn't be there for another 5 days! :headache: So we got to the MK after the longgg ride (this is a BAD part of staying at an AS resort) and walked right over to the bus stop for the Boardwalk resort. We waited there for 10 mins or so before a bus came and took us to the BW. 2 minutes before we got off the bus it started to rain again. Not hard at all but just enough to annoy me. Luckily, it ended after about 5 mintues! :thumbsup2We had no dinner reservations for the night and I figured we'd just grab something either on the BW or over at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club. We were both hungry as we hadn't eaten anything since breakfast besides the frozen lemonades! I knew we wouldn't really be able to get into any of the TS restaurants but Chris wanted to go into ESPN Club. I like ESPN Zone in NYC so that was no problem to me.

We got over to ESPN Club and there was a fairly long line waiting outside. Then I noticed that there was another door a couple of people had walked in through to the side and realized that that was the door to go sit in the bar. Perfect for us! So we went in the other door and seated ourselves in the bar area. After waiting for like 10 minutes for a waiter to come take our drink orders we got a little frustrated and moved to some empty seats right at the bar. I ordered a margarita and Chris ordered a Bud Light. I loveeeee me a margarita but this one was not good. I mean it tasted alright but it was really watery, too watery. The bartender definitely didn't make it right. So we sat there for another 5 minutes or so before we could get the bartenders attention to take our food order. We were getting a little annoyed now because we were sitting there with menus and after 2 mins of looking we put them down and we obviously ready to order. It wasn't like the bartender was crazy busy or anything. He was just rude. Honestly, I'm easy to please and this guy just wasn't doing it. So Chris gets his attention and we order our food. I ordered clam chowder as my appetizer and boneless buffalo wings as my meal. Chris ordered just a bacon cheeseburger with cucumber salad as his side. It said on the menu you could substitute the cucumber salad instead of fries. The guy was barely paying attention as he took our order. Literally he made us repeat everything we said a second time because he wasn't paying attention the first time!

While we waited for the food Chris was mesmerized by the sports on all the TVs and I just sat there and patiently waited. So the food came and it was okay. Just okay, not bad or anything but nothing special. Of course as I expected, Chris had fries with his meal, not cucumber salad as he ordered. It really wasn't even worth it to say anything so we just finished eating and got out of there. A meal that was over $40 that certainly wasn't worth it put me a little bit of a mood but it was alright, I was still at WDW for another 5 whole days :goodvibes We walked down the BW a little bit at this point. I expected more on the BW! I thought we'd have things to do to occupy us for the night but there wasn't! We sat down for a few minutes to digest on a bench looking over the water. I was happy now. I was in WDW with the love of my life  just relaxing and soaking it all in. It was great. I got the idea to jump on the boat and take it across to the YC & BC to check them out.

We got on the next boat over and walked towards the YC. We walked inside and it was BEAUTIFUL! OMG we felt out of place in our sneakers and flip flops! We just walked through quickly and ended up in the front of the YC. Once I realized this wasn't going to take up our whole night I got the idea to head over and check out the monorail resorts and then watch Wishes from the beach on the Poly! Chris was all for it and I was super excited to be able to get to do this! Since we still wanted to check out the BC we started walking figuring it would be a quick walk to it. It ended up being a longer walk than we expected! Around every corner I thought the BC would be there and it wasn't :rotfl: Just more YC.

continued in next post....

sorry you didn't have a good experience at ESPN..we are there twice on our trip but we ate in the resturant part. DH did go a couple of times later at night while i was in the room (we stayed at BW) to see the game scores of the night and I think the Baseball world series was going on too....can't remember

Finally we got to the parking lot that separates the two resorts, walked across and entered the BC. I thought the BC was less formal looking that the YC. It was more my speed. Gorgeous in there! We walked through the BC and just had some time to kill. We sat down on the rocking chairs out there and just rocked and relaxed. Our feet were already starting to hurt from walking so much. We saw so many families walking out of the BC just looking so happy and carefree, just like they should in WDW :wizard: Brilliant me then came up with a way to get to the Contemporary from the BC. Just hop on the boat to Epcot and then jump on the monorail to the CR. So many people reading this probably just realized whats wrong with that idea. I wasn't so smart to realize it at first. :headache:

We began walking again and headed past Stormalong Bay to the boat and waited there for a little while watching these two little girls play tag with their dad. Too cute. Anyway, after a bit a boat came. Good thing it was a nice night out because our boat ride ended up being like over a half hour ordeal. It took us back the the BW then started to head towards Epcot. About 3 minutes before we docked at the International Gateway entrance I realized that the only way to the monorail from the back is to go THROUGH Epcot!! :headache: times 10000!! I double checked with the CM there and he confirmed it. So we just stayed on the boat and figured we'd just stay on until it got to DHS when we could then hop on a bus to the CR. The boat then took us to the BW, YC&BC, the Swan and finally DHS! We were laughing at ourselves because of how much harder we made that trip than it should have been  Also I need to say how gorgeous the outside of the Swan and Dolphin resorts are. It was the first time I had ever seen them in real life and they're just beautiful. The architecture is so pretty and I really love the whole layout of the place. I also found out they have discounts for teachers so I'll probably stay there one day :cloud9:

After our long boat ride we finally made it to DHS! We quickly got off and headed to the CR/GF bus stop! Thankfully that wait was short and there was only us and one other family on the bus! The first stop was the CR so we got off and walked in. The CR is so cool! I was in my 3rd new resort of the day and loving every minute of it. We both needed to stop for a potty break at this time so I even got to use the CR bathrooms  They're wayyyy nicer than the AllStar bathrooms and actually smelled really good in there! We checked out the entrance to The Wave over there too. It's a really cool entrance way :thumbsup2

Then we hopped on the escalator and took it up to the 5th floor where the monorail station is. First we were thirsty so we went into the little place up there and I grabbed an apple juice and Chris got a Coke. Then we went into the arcade just to check it out. I looked for the famous ski-ball area Melissa talks about but I didn't see anything spectacular. Maybe I missed it or maybe its not there anymore? idk! :confused3 So we just checked that out quick then walked out to the monorail station. First though I looked down and checked out part of Chef Mickey's. It looked really fun in there! So we got on line for the monorail. I was in awe of the CR at this point, especially how the monorail goes right through it. Too amazing! After a short wait a monorail came and we were on our way. My first monorail ride! Just as cool as I imagined :thumbsup2

Our next stop was the GF (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong on that). We got off here and walked in and just looked down at the lobby. WOW! Its sooo grand and regal down there! Here I felt REALLY out of place. I mean it was so gorgeous and there I was looking a mess after being on the go all day! We walked around a little and then headed into the gift shop thats up there. Sooo much cute stuff in here! I ended up buying an antenna topper for my car which is a pink and silver princess crown and a keychain that had a skull and crossbones with a pink crown on top of it (like the tattoo I have ;)). princess: Chris got a bag of sugar free Goofy gummys.

It was getting closer to 9 by now so we started walking out now to get on the monorail to head to the Poly! I was estatic to be able to check it out here. After another short monorail ride we were at the most gorgeous resort ever! I was NOT disappointed at all. The Poly is spectacular and so beautiful, I was in heaven here. Chris was lovin it too. He kept pointing different things out to me that he thought were nice. We walked through and I saw Kona where our beloved Tonga Toast was to be waiting for us Saturday morning. We BOTH couldn't wait for that! Then we walked down the stairs and into Capt. Cooks to grab a snack. I got my first Mickey bar and Chris got an ice cream sandwich. Hmmmm that Mickey bar was good and hit the spot!!

We kept walking to the outside so we could head for the beach. We got a little lost along the way (don't ask me how! LOL) but made it back to the beach. OMG I seriously was in heaven. I loveeeeeee the Poly!! We grabbed 2 beach chairs and laid down to wait for Wishes to begin. Chris actually fell asleep waiting...I was too cold to sleep! OMG, I had on capris and a sweatshirt and I was shivering cold. The wind was just going through me! It certainly wasn't a cold day but that night probably dropped down a bit and it was colddd...like in the 60s probably  Soon Wishes started! Ahhh I was about to cry! I loved it! It was sooo magical to see it from the Poly beach. Chris kept saying, "we're going there Friday right?" Then I'd be like "No babe Saturday." "Oh so we're going to DHS on Friday?" "No babe, DHS is Thursday, Epcot is Friday." "Oh, okay, I keep getting confused." :rotfl: Men!!

Once Wishes ended we were SOOO tired. We decided to hop on the monorail back to the MK and then grab an ASMo bus. I knew this was risky because Wishes had just ended but I figured it was the quickest way. I asked the CM at the monorail station and he agreed. The monorail to the MK was quick enough but then we got the the MK. Holy moley. We waited FOREVERRRRRR for a bus. We were seriously getting angry waiting. After the longest bus wait in history we finally got on one and were able to even sit. We didn't get back to our room until 11:30. What a long day! But it was amazing!! We spent an amazing day at AK, walked on the BW, checked out 5 resorts we'd never been to and watched Wishes from the Poly beach! Ahhh perfection :cloud9: We fell asleep super quick. We had to be up early the next day!

Up next: quickness and sickness at Islands of Adventure!

I'm glad you got to visit so many resorts. We enjoy resort hopping. We like to experience the different atmospheres at each one.

Wishes from the beach at Poly sounds like a lovely evening. So lovely, in fact, that we have plans to do that for New Year's Eve with some other Dis friends. :)

I think that big Dis meet that you guys all have going sounds like a lot of fun! Also, with your date change, you'll get to see the Osborne Lights, so that'll really get you in the Christmas mood for the rest of December.

Kristen, What a great update! That's great that you rode the monorail to all the different resorts! I love the poly too! The GF is definitely amazing! We eating there on our August trip at the Grand Floridian Cafe! I'm still undecided for the Nov/Dec trip about the DP! I think we're just gonna go with food in the Villa!BTW I can't believe you are going the same week as us! Yay! Now make sure you send Tammy a pic of you 2! and then put some info on the thread! :thumbsup2 It's gonna be a BLAST!

Whew! You had a busy night!

I do agree, we feel out of place at the YC too!

Ugh, sorry about the confusion trying to get to the Contemporary.

Haha, that bathroom you went in..good memories for me in there! Last trip, we were on the boat coming from WL and it just started POURING. We were soaked running inside the Contemporary. CM's brought us towels and Mom, Sis, and I went into the bathroom to dry off. Oh, we were laughing so hard!

Wow, you rode the monorail all the way around to the GF and then back around to the Poly! Crazy girl. But, I bet the view of Wishes was amazing. :cloud9::cloud9:

The resort hopping was great. I always love your pictures from your resort adventures! You guys are going to love Wishes from the beach, especially on NYE with Disers!! I can't wait for the big Dis meet in Nov/Dec. I'm so excited to see the Osborne lights too. :goodvibes

Thanks Colleen! Riding the monorail around was really cool! And the Poly...ahhhh :cloud9: The GF Cafe sounds really cool! We're definitely adding the DP in Nov/Dec. We spent wayyy too much $ on food this trip so the DP will help. Aren't you doing the GG's then?

I'm sooo excited that I'm part of the Dis meet now! And we'll be at AKV at the same time :thumbsup2 I'm going to send Tammy the info and do our intros soon!

Wow...You sure did a lot in a short amount of time hehe

Yes we sure did, power walking girl

We definitely were busy! The YC was veryyy formal IMO, too formal for us! I couldn't believe i made that stupid mistake with the boats getting to the CR :headache: I realized it like 2 mins from the dock! That bathroom at the CR was really cool and smelled nice. So funny that you guys dried off in there

I was wondering if I had the order of the monorail resorts wrong. I did! Yeah we rode it all the way around then. Thanks for reminding me girl ;)

Yea I mean it wasn't terrible by any means, just not good either. I think if the bartender wasn't so rude and inattentive it would have been better. And if he knew how to make a better margarita LOL I think it would be fun to be there at night sitting at the bar or during dinner time in the restaurant section like you guys were.

Nope not yet anyways! :rotfl:The GG's we have planned are in August where I will First meet Tammy and her family and DisneyQuilter and her family and maybe a few others! :thumbsup2

What a long but fun day! It is so fun to visit other resorts  Even tho you had a long boat ride at Yacht/Beach club area, it's fun to experience everything the Epcot resorts have to offer. I agree that it can be very confusing to get from Boardwalk or Yacht/Beach Club via boat if you are new to visiting those resorts. When we stay at BWV we usually just walk to Epcot and take a boat to HS. But our last morning we had character breakfast ressies at Cape May and we couldn't decide if we should head left out of the Boardwalk resort and walk towards Yacht Club or head right and walk towards ESPN and head to Beach Club. We thought about taking the boat but that totally confused us and thought we could walk faster. We ended up walking right towards ESPN to Beach Club and when we left after breakfast, we headed towards the Yacht Club way and that seemed much closer. (sorry for the long story!!)

The Poly is a beautiful resort. I got to see it when we had Aloha Dinner show back in 1997 and agree with you that it is amazing. Love your TR so far - can't wait now to hop onboard your PTR!
