Well, first let me thank everyone for all the advice from this board, it was very helpful. This review took a while but here we go!!

Our First Anniversary Trip-Halloween Weekend 2005

Day 1-AK, MGM, and Epcot. Whoa, I know this sounds like a lot, but we really enjoyed it. We did EMH at AK in the morning and it was definitely worth it. We had enough time to do everything we wanted at AK by 10:30 (Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl, Lion King Show, Bug’s Life) with basically no waits. It was the first time we did Lion King (after I heard it was good on this board) and we really enjoyed it. We couldn’t decide if it topped Tarzan or not, either way they are both great shows.

We made it too MGM by 11:00 we rushed over to Tower of Terror for a fast pass and then Rocking Roller Coaster (about a 30 minute wait, which is the longest wait all weekend). After rocking we made it on TOT and were done with what we wanted from MGM.

Took a pit stop in our hotel, then on to Epcot. The only thing we wanted to do at Epcot was ride Soaring & Mission and then have the rest of the evening to do F & W festival. Well when we got to EPCOT the wait for Soaring was 100 min, Test Track 70 min, and Mission 20 min. The ride board said they still had fast passes for TT and Mission, so we headed that way. Well TT fast passes were gone, so we just went in the Mission line, figured the 20 minute wait wasn’t long and it was worth the wait (my favorite ride at DW!!). Then we went on to the F&W Festival, we loved it. However, we only made it about halfway until our tummy were full and a little uneasy from all the wine and different combinations of food. The only thing that I was disappointed by was the fact that none of the food was hot, at best it was warm. I understand they are outside, but I figured the food would be warmer, but heck it still tasted good. Australia was definitely the best lamb, shrimp and some good wine!!

By now it was 7:00 we knew we wanted a good spot for Illuminations, but still had over an hour before we wanted to stake out a spot. We thought since most people thought Future World closed at 7:00 and we knew some rides (Soaring) stayed open that we would head over there and be willing to wait 45 minutes or less. Well NO LUCK, the wait was 120 minutes!!!! We really wanted to try Soaring; it was the only new ride since last time we were at Disney that we wanted to try. But no ride is worth 2 hours, especially since we would have likely missed Illuminations. Well we chalked it up as a loss, we had already ridden so many of our favorites and had a great day. We found a table in the Mexican cantina (We walked by TT on our way to the cantina, but the wait was still over an hour- definitely not worth it- TT is fun, but we don’t think it is great) for Illuminations. Luckily somebody had gotten up right when we got there and it was a great table. The show was spectacular and was a great end to a perfect day.

Day 2- DTD and MNSSHP. We were surprised how business DTD was. We usually go in the evening and I don’t know if a Sunday afternoon has a lot of locals or what, but we really didn’t even to get to shop, we just walked around and enjoyed the nice day. We had an amazing “anniversary” lunch at Fulton’s Crab House. I would definitely recommend it. The food was excellent, but I was most surprised by the service. The service was great and the restaurant is very much more sophisticate then we expected.

We rested in our hotel to prepare for MNSSHP. We did MNSSHP, mainly because we figured that we could go from 4-12 and supposedly do all the rides, because of the short waits. We’ll we drove up to MK around 4:00 and noticed a big sign that said tonight’s MNSSHP was Sold Out. Luckily we had our tickets but were worried maybe our theory would back fire. We walked over to Tomorrow land and noticed waits of 30 minutes for Space Mt. and 15 for Buzz, we figured that wasn’t too bad. Well it ended up that all the waits were much shorter then the board said. By 6:00 we had ridden almost all the rides in Tomorrow Land (even Indy, just because we could.) Well let me just tell you that for anybody that wonders if MNSSHP is worth it, I say YES!YES! YES!. We did more in 8 hours for $40 then we would have done in 12 hours for a regular admission.

We ended up doing every single ride that was open during MNSSHP, including Space Mountain 6 times!! (Note the wait sign said 30 minutes all night long, however there was NO wait!!) We also had time to find a prime spot for the Hallowishes, We started looking around 8:00 by the Tomorrow Land Terrace, well not one person had staked out a spot yet. Everybody was watching the parade. We also noticed that nobody was in that patio area down in the area to the right of Main Street. We had enough time to sit in both areas and figure out the best table in the theme park to sit at. BTW, we decided on a table in the terrace. DW waited while I grabbed some dinner over at Cosmic Rays. The Hallowishes show was the best fireworks show I have ever seen. The Halloween theme seems the perfect complement to fireworks. After the fireworks we just did more rides. The longest waits were for Peter Pan and Pooh, yet they were no longer then 10 minutes.

We hadn’t really planned on getting much candy and had only stopped in a few spots late into the evening. But on our way to Tommorwland we cut through Mickey’s Toontown. There was a long line in the first candy stop, so we said “oh, we don’t need candy” and skipped the first candy stop. Well we didn’t realize that there were more candy spots on the trail. The next stop, which had no line, they saw our nearly empty bag, took them from our hands and filled them up. I had two other bags in my pocket that were empty and on the third stop they did the same thing. We had four bags filled to the top. We could not even fit all the candy in our backpack, so we ended up giving two bags to some little kids that were delighted for the extra treats!! Overall, MNSSHP was definitely the highlight of our trip.

Well let me know if anyone has any questions. I reviewed our hotel “Coronado Springs” last week (I don’t know how to add the link) so if you have any questions about CSR let me know.
