DAY 9 You won't believe it!
We all DID NOT want this day to come! It was our last full day! The trip so far has been amazing, we just didn't want it to end. I woke up about 6am and could not fall back to sleep. I laid there with a smile on my face just thinking of how great this trip had been and how much fun we have had. Well, I guess the rest of the family felt the same way because by 6:30 everyone was awake. We just decided to get up and get going and soak up as much Disney as we could.
Bryan ran down to the Mara again and we all got dressed and sunblocked and we were at the bus stop headed to the Magic Kingdom by 7:30am. In true AKL fashion we didn't wait more than 5 minutes for the bus. The driver opened the door and asked us if we were going to breakfast. We said no and he said "you know the park doesn't open till 9." I replied "we know, thank you" so we hopped on the bus and we had it all to ourselves!
We arrived at the Magic Kingdom and walked over to the bag check and entrance!
There was a crowd of people lining up to get into the park to eat breakfast. We were soooo wishing we had made a ressie to eat breakfast again, we just LOVED that empty park atmosphere. We decided to go over towards the other turnstiles to stay away from the crowd at the breakfast entrance! Of course we were the only ones there.
There were a few CM's turning on the turnstiles. Bryan started talking to a CM named Rich who was working on the turnstile in fron of where we were standing. He was telling Bryan how he had moved from Miami to Orlando because the homeowners insurance was outrageous where he lived near Miami and that he really enjoys working for Disney and his wife does too. They are retirees and just love spreading the magic. The kids had fun running around and laughing. After about 15 minutes there were other CM'S that were getting busy and getting ready to open the park.
A woman CM came over by us to check the turnstile and asked us if Rich was bothering us? We laughed and said no we enjoyed talking to him. She then left and came back 5 minutes later and handed me a note. I was confused and then I opened it and it said.....................
HOW WOULD YOU AND YOUR BOYS LIKE TO HELP MICKEY OPEN THE PARK!!!!
I immediately said OF COURSE YES YES YES!!! She laughed and then aslked me to write down our last name and where we were from!!! I quickly wrote down the info. She then disappeared and came back about 5 minutes later and told us to go ahead and go through the turnstiles!!! My heart was racing and I was all teary eyed and the boys still had NO CLUE what was going on! We then go under the railroad station and Delores the wonderful CM introduces us to John and tells us that John is going to be taking us on a little journey through the park. The boys were SO EXCITED to go on the firetruck.
Here are John and Delores...

Here are some pics of the boys and us on the firetruck!
John gets on the firetruck and we were off! We made our way down Main St. It was so COOL we felt like celebrities!!
We turned right and headed towards Toontown!
We make it to the back of Toontown and we get off the firetruck and then John tells the boys " you are going to ride on this special train with Mickey Mouse and some of his friends and you are going to help him open the park!" The boys flipped out and were jumping up and down!!!!
John took us near the green train which we were told is only used once a day for park opening and it is named after Walt's wife. Here are some pics.
After this John took us to Mickey's house and we got our own private tour...
The boys anxiously awaiting what would happen next..
Then all of the sudden this is what we see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The characters start coming out of nowhere, it was INCREDIBLE! The Mad Hatter then says should we all get together? Then we got this picture!
ONCE IN A LIFETIME MOMENT!!
We were on cloud nine!!!
Coming up next: OUR TRIP AROUND THE MAGIC KINGDOM AND THE COUNTDOWN!!!
