Dh is self-employed and won't take a week off (much less, two weeks off), as he is concerned about losing customers. So we generally take a 3-day weekend (sometimes a 4-day weekend) once a month and go out of town. This year we've gone to Disney a few times, the beach a few times, Savannah once, and to a family wedding once.
We live in Florida and generally only travel to places that are an easy, close drive (within 6 hours). We rarely fly anywhere except for an occasional family wedding, funeral, or reunion. I would love to go on longer vacations (fantasy vacations: a wine tour in California, Las Vegas, a driving trip across the continent, Nova Scotia, Australia, Japan) but I certainly can't complain--we already live in paradise!
