Other than WDW, where else have you gone using your DVC?

OK, we're strongly considering purchasing. Right now the kids are young and we plan to do WDW once a year. But I'm a little concerned that we may not want to go every year as they get older. Where else have you gone using DVC points?

We have taken 4 DCL cruises (Eastern, Western, West Coast and 11 N. Med cruise) and we are headed for Cancun in 09.

It was in early June and we had no problem getting the dates we wanted. Also tried for the Aviara near Santa Barbara but couldn't get that; I'm told it is one of the most popular and tough to trade to. Hotel Del was fabulous and DVC guests don't pay the daily hotel "surcharge" (supposedly for towels, newspapers, parking, etc.) that the cash-paying guests do!

We have done Disneyland, Hilton Head and Salzburg, Austria. Salzburg is a great place with great access via rail to castles (Mad King Ludwig's and others), salt mines, and "Sound of Music" site.

June of 08 we had a week there in a HUGE 2 bedroom unit,I highly suggest anyone traveling to Phoenix stay there.2 Br bigger than anything at Disney.WE HAD A BALL,We were cowboys in Phoenix, explorers at the Grand Canyon( 2 days) Pictures dont do the GC any justice, its mind blowing at sunset.
We went tubing in Salt River Canyon and ``I was standing on the corner in Winslow Arizona, such a fine sight to see``, rode down Rte 66.Can`t wait to get back.Except our 4th trip to the World is up first

Hey Webmasters!

Can we please have a sticky for non DVC, or non-WDW trips on the DVC site.

I would love a new board, or at least a sticky or something under planning where we could find out more about Devon, UK; Salzburg, Austria; Northern Italy; or even domestic locations like NYC, Williamsburg, Gatlinburg, or Destin, FL.

It would be totally cool even if someone took the trip a few years ago as long as they said when they took the trip. It would be good to hear how convenient the resort was, whether it was a dump, whether they got pressured from TS salespeople, how easy/difficult it was for them to reserve.

I know the board might not move much, but some of the other boards don't move much either.

How was the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego? Was it hard to get your dates? Thinking of putting in for a trade in late 2009.

Not a dvc trade - my sister and her family went there last year. They loved it so much, they went back this year and are there right now. They are due home (Upstate, NY) this weekend.

:rotfl2: Hilton Head and The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC - an absolutely great place to visit!

We've stayed many times at PP, DLH & GC at DL, we're have a 2 bdrm at the Marriott in Kauai in Oct, Vero Beach and I plan to go to the Hotel del Coronado sometime in the future when I have points again (Kauai used up my points). Hopefully the GC will go on sale soon so I have some more points.

We have gone to the Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, the Grove Park Inn in Ashville, a Disney cruise, VB alot, and HHI a few times. We go to WDW about once every 3 years.

:beach:

We have done several trips to Disneyland staying at the Grand Californian, also Vero Beach, and several Disney Cruises on points, including the Mediterranean 10 day cruise last summer to Europe! Fantastic! :)

We live in Colorado and have been to Keystone twice in the past two years during ski season. We were able to get a 2 bedroom condo over Spring Break for 5 nights for less than 180 points. For a family of 6, that's a huge steal! Especially since it's Spring Break and everyone heads to the slopes. I think that Keystone is one of the concierge choices that is so worth the points. ;)
