Says it all, we've used SW the last 2 years but we'd consider others if they had more desirable flight times, we're really attracted to the SW free bags thing. We book well in advance and we'd commit to the number of checked bags early or do whatever necessary not to get hosed by baggage fees.

It's really hard to find an airline that doesn't charge for checked bags. I almost wish they would just give a free bag and raise the fare by about $15! Everyone would have to pay at that point. I just figure it's a cost of doing business lately.

Well, if you used ONE airline solidly then you might very well hit a status level with that airline where you would get free bags again, depending on how often you travel, of course. Or get an airline CC that offers it.

Jetblues middle level fare includes a bag and it's only around $15 more than the base fare. They also have a sliding scale change fee system based on how much the ticket cost and when you made the change
