any other exits and hotel a litttle further south anyone could recommend. We are leaving in two weeks, driving from NJ which we always do but usually leave at 2 am and drive to GA or straight thru. Trying a new plan, leaving at 5:30 and driving into NC, just hoping we can make a little further south than Rocky Mount, if we dont no biggie. But need some recommendations for other exits would be good to know.

Dunn or Fayetteville might be a stretch...I just plugged it into Streets and Trips and from Lakehurst, you'd be arriving around 1:45 a.m. - 2 a.m. in those areas...Rocky Mount would be around 12:45 a.m.

All this assumes no major traffic tie-ups, and stopping for 15 min. every 3 hours. You could reach Emporia, VA by about 11:30 p.m. Also the Hampton Inn there at I-95 starts breakfast at 5:30 a.m....FWIW.

We are staying at the Hampton Inn Emporia on our drive back in December. How is it?

I liked it esp. because of the 5:30 a.m. breakfast start. :cool1: (We were heading south!) And they were ready to go with everything out and ready.

I believe they are also pet-friendly, so if you have allergies, I'd make sure to note it on your reservation.

I've stayed in Wilson the past couple of years - Exit 121 has a ton of different hotels to choose from.

The I95 app for iPhones might be a big help to you. Lists all gas, dining, hotels at each exit all along the i95 corridor.
