Other Segway Tours?

I heard a rumor about an off-road type Segway tour that was being developed. Does anyone have any information about this?

DS, DS's friend and I did the Around the World at Epocot Segway tour in March. It was an AWESOME tour!! DS has been dying to do this tour since it was first introduced. He was 16 on our last trip, so his dream finally came true . Anyway, one of our instructors did mention that they were working on an off-road Segway tour that would take place at Fort Wilderness, somewhere in their trails area. He didn't know what the projected delivery date would be. He said so many people LOVED the Segway tour, but wanted another tour that "kicked it up a notch". I know that we will definitely do the off-road Segway tour. DS has been trying to convince me that he "needs" a Segway to use as a vehicle when he goes to college in 2 years . Our guide gave him tips about buying one from e-bay .

That is so exciting. My DH has been begging me to take another tour or to find out about the new one. Hopefully they will get in place soon. What are the tips for buying one on Ebay?

They are incredibly popular, so I would book it as soon as you can. Yes, they take a credit card number with the reservation. Be sure to get whatever discount you are eligible for. AAA, AP, Disney Visa, DVC.

I made our reservation for the Segway tour ~ 10 weeks before our trip. I had an alternate date in case my first choice wasn't available. It was available, so no problem there. I wanted to do the first tour of the day (meeting at Epcot guest services at ~ 8:30 I think) so we would have World Showcase all to ourselves, which we did . I did have to pay in full for the tour when I reserved it. I believe there was a 48 hour cancellation policy. I got a 15% discount for using my Disney VISA. The look on my son's face was well worth the price of the tour . His friend on the other hand (who I found is VERY difficult to please ~ note to self.....he's NOT coming back to WDW with us ) was less than thrilled with the tour or ANYTHING we did . DS thanked me over and over, which was so nice . We're planning a Spring Break 2007 trip and are already looking over other tours that we want to do. I hope the off-road Segway tour is up and running by then.

I also have heard rumors of this and I can't wait for it. I hope it is up and running by our honeymoon next year. We had soooo much fun on the Around the world on a segway tour.
