Other family members using Fast Pass / Magic Bands

We are a family of four. I booked the same fast passes for all of us----BUT my daughter is sometimes scared on roller coasters----does this mean if we are all in the park, my husband and son can't just use our bands to ride that one ride twice????

Ok so stupid question...

for us I just booked all our fastpasses together (party of 7) but my mother has stated she is not riding RNR coaster and TOT! Not doing it lol... I have literally just been diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia so I am debating if I will ride (dr. says I should be "ok" but ermmm). I have no interest in changing our 2 FP+ to something else, its a pain and I don't want to do it since we would just want to sit and wait anyway. Soooo here is the stupid ?

If I can't let my daughter or son use said fast passes on the MB do we have to "tap in" just to get the fastness used so we could as a group make a 4th FP later? I mean basically stand in line and get out before getting on ride?

AFAIK, you have to have entered the park to use to FP. Once the times for the 3 FP have expired, you can make a 4th, whether the 3 before were used or not.

They can absolutely use your MBs for the already booked fast passes. They just can't bring your MBs with them if you decide to stay out of the park for some reason, meaning just 2 enter the park, and use your already booked fast passes without those MBs being tapped for park entrance. We used to make our own kid swap by booking all 4 of us for a ride only 3 of us were tall enough to ride, but allow my son to enter twice, once on his ticket, once on my daughter's but each time with mom or dad.

Do people forget that you need a fingerprint with the Magic band to get in the park? At least we did last week. Or am I missing something? Therefore, how can someone tap in my band?

When did that change? I thought you had to use all 3 first in order to get the 4th at the kiosk...

Ding, ding, ding.

I think the "tap them in" comment relates to using the MB at the attraction to get in the FP line.

But, yes, it won't work if the magic band hasn't been activated by using it to enter the park.

Which makes me wonder---if I have two magic bands, both active, can I use both to enter the same park on the same day? Does the system recognize that fingerprint has already been used to enter?

Yes.

This is why I mentioned a split stay. This is normally how we vacation in the world, so we get 2 sets of bands. The bands are linked to your MDE. They are interchangeable throughout your time there because it all links back to your profile on the MDE.

But, even without a split stay....

I mean, I have 2 magic bands already active in MDE. Can I use both of those to pull FPs? And then I have to enter the park twice (once with each band)? Can I enter two different parks on the same day?

Well, split stay is something I'm familiar with. But the bands are all active, which is the same for both of us. You can use whatever band for whatever, as long as its active and linked to your current trip.

As mousehockey explained, the bands are INTERCHANGEABLE. You can use either to enter the park. You can use either to access your FP. You are only allowed one set of FP, regardless of which band you use to access them. You can use one band to enter the park, the other to access your FP (not sure why you would want to?) They both access the same MDE acct.

I have multiple MB which I coordinate with my outfit for the day, they all work the same.

xposted with mousehockey!

If the MBs are linked to the same MDE Profile, they provide the direct link to tickets in that specific Profile. You can only have your designated number of FPs for each valid ticket entitlement no matter how many MBs are linked to that Profile.

I'm not planning on doing either. I was just curious as to whether the magic bands could be used independently, like using one for FP for one park and the other for FP for a different park on the same day.

FPs are based on valid Ticket Entitlements. As soon as you pre-book a total of 3 FPs per ticket entitlement, you've reached your max.

OK, I got it. I was just asking for information - I'm not trying to figure out how to scam the system.

When I go to the park with my parents, they sometimes don't feel like riding rides such as Splash or Space Mountain and will give me their fastpasses so I could ride multiple times. There's NOTHING wrong with this as you booked those passes and Disney is aware of the amount of fastpasses. It isn't creating a bigger line or anything as those fastpasses would of been used anyways.

Maybe I'm wrong. I sometimes miss my FP, and I have gotten more, but maybe my memory is faulty and they were different days.
As long as an unused FP's return window is fully "expired," it counts as being "used."

Alternatively, you can Modify or Cancel an expired FP which is helpful if you are not in a Tiered Park.

When in a Tiered Park, allowing a FP to expire aids in attempting to book a 2nd Tier 1 FP. *See the FP FAQ Addendum linked in the FP FAQ thread.
