We are trying to do at least 3 or 4 things that we havn't done before. one of these was Silver Springs. Has anybody been there and what was it like? We imagine it would be a bit like Busch but without the rides? is it worth the trek? Also any other ideas would be greatly appreciated

we went to silver springs last august, we thought it was worth going to, there are glass bottomed boats that go across the chrystal clear waters and there are bears and other animals!
you want to see the size of the alligators there :scared1:

We went a couple of years ago because we too wanted to do something different. In my honest opinion i would not go again. The whole place just reminded me of a poor man's AK.

We're hoping to go to Coco Beach when we go in July. Dh remembers it took about 2 hours when he was a kid, but it now is about 45 mins.

Debbie,
If you have a car why not have a day trip out:

a) Kennedy Space Centre
b) St. Augustine/ real American history (from 1500's)
c) Clearwater area/ beaches
d) Crystal River area/ diving with manatees/glass bottom boats
e) Either coast/ kayaking amongst dolphins/manatees etc..

There are so many things to do ....outside the Disney area!!
If you want any more info on any of the above PM me! I'll be glad to help!

How about visiting Celebration?

Claire ;)

What is Celebration?

Celebration was a town intially build by Disney, think of the Truman Show, as that is how it looks. It is a very pretty town and has since been sold off by Disney or so I believe.

Thanks for all your replies, we already have Kennedy and Celebration on the list although we have been to those in the past. Crystal River and Cypress Gardens look nice so will try to decide between those two and Silve Springs as we only have 1 day left to account for.
