OT-why do i want another child?

I've got one to send as well. Mine has a drivers license and can babysit for you too.

HAHAHAHA! Well!! I have a 14 yr old sister, and albeit I dont have to put up with the attitude day to day (I would never anyway..she never gives it to me!) I get enough of the teenage lifestyle...and oh boy, I can wait!

You could always come do my job for a week or so. I wipe snotty noses, change dirty diapers and feed 5 kids that aren't mine Mon to Fri 8am to 5pm - although the great hugs, smiley faces and giggles make my job so worth it!! But still - a week doing my job would cure the urges - you get your babies during the day when they are happy then can send them home for the sleepless nights!! Best of both worlds!! AND you get paid for it!!

I wanted a 3rd right up until my youngest hit 4.5 yrs old - then we started travelling and travelling really is designed for a family of 4!

My boys are at great ages now at 9yo and almost 15yo. It's nice to go see a movie that isn't a cartoon, go golfing, or just for dh and I to be able to go out whenever we want on our own.

We fixed my urges by getting a puppy too - I keep telling the boys that he's my best kid

I couldn't imagine life with a 3rd now - our life just feels complete!

That is, and always has been sort of a fear perhaps...fear might be a bad word. When the kids are both in school, I highly doubt IM going to want to start all over again. I don't see it happening. lol. My Mom had my sister when I was 13... Im 27, and my huge guess is that by the age of 30 Im not going to do anything more to have another. Just because my kids will be both in school. It's sort of soon or not at all in my mind.

You have to do what is right for you and your family... needs to be a decision that both you and your dh make together though - a marriage won't last if one partner feels like they've been 'tricked'.

There are 13 yrs between my younger brother and I and 18 yrs between my older brother and younger brother - I will never do that to my kids!! No more babies for me unless they are the 4 legged kind or the borrowed ones I get every day!!

Gosh, I didn't start having kids until I was 30. We have 3 boys and it can be quite a handful. I totally agree with everyone that traveling with 3 can be a handful and not particularly convenient but it is doable.

Having had three I can't imagine life any differently. It definitely puts a different twist on things. I am always juggling spending time with one child or another. They have reached the age now where they are actually useful and help each other out with homework and the like.

I do agree with those who suggest volunteering. It's a great way to get involved and fill those hours you might otherwise think about things you shouldn't.

Good luck with your battle. My solution when things get tough and I don't see a way out. Shop!(or redecorate) You'd be amazed at how much better you may feel.

To the OP I can totally relate to your dilemma I have two daughters 15 months apart (one turns 11 in August and the other 10 in Dec) and still would like another baby. My DH says no way unless we win the lottery lo . I am a kindergarten teacher so I am around little ones all the time and I even volunteered at our church's nursery with infants hoping to shake the baby feeling but it never goes away. I turn 39 this year so I know the time to have another is limited but I think it's unlikely Dh will change his mind. I love to travel too and I know it is more challenging with three but I figure when the other two would be out of the house and I could still be taking the little one on trips to WDW lol. I guess I just have to count my blessings.
