OT: Where Else Would You Like To Visit In The US?

Hello there

Sorry that is my list of places I would like to visit, but havent yet been there:thumbsup2 Sorry for the confusion:goodvibes

My bad! I reread your post, & you were quite clear. I was the one who was in a fog. :p

So, what do you want to see in Oklahoma? :teeth:

I was going to suggest San Antonio, but obviously you have been! We went a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it, can't wait to go back.

We loved it there too. We only spent 3 nights as part of a long road trip, which wasn't nearly enough. We'll definitely return soon.

I'd like to visit all the usual tourist places plus anywhere that's considered Cowboy Country. :worship:

We've been to a dude ranch in Texas. Incidentally, there's a lot of horses in Florida as well. You could combine a ranch with a WDW vacation. You can't get much better than that! :woohoo: Anyway, I was disappointed in the ranch we chose. We had a great time, but it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. For example, we immediately went in search of cleaning supplies, & I had to clean the small cabin, esp. the shower, before I would allow my family to stay there. :sad2: They also weren't very organized. Several states have really nice ranches. I suggest you do a lot of research, before choosing.

I would visit New Mexico or Idaho. Coeur D'Alene is beautiful, I loved it growing up as a kid, they have a nice resort there:

It's not that far from Spokane, Washington and there's lots to see in Washington too.

Let us know what you pick!

Wow, that is a nice resort!!! It looks right up our alley. I noticed they advertised a Winter Blues Festival, which we would also enjoy. I'm definitely adding that to our "must do" list. ::yes::

We haven't been to Washington State. We had planned a trip to Seattle as part of a cruise vacation, but decided to sail from San Francisco instead to take a 10 night Alaskan cruise rather than 7 nights. I'm sure we'd love Seattle though.

Wow! I can understand how difficult the choice is - you live in a spectacular and very accesible country, I have visited many times and still have a thousand places I want to go to.
My suggestions would be:

a 3 centre city break, say 4 nights in each of NYC, Washington, Boston or Las Vegas, SF & Los Angeles,
or a national parks circuit like Claire suggested.
or a new england tour,
or tour more locally and take in the deep south.

We've actually considered both of these trips at one time. We'll have to revisit the idea. Either would be great. We're really more of big city tourists. We like being entertained.

I've only visited Florida so far but would love to visit New York next. Hopefully next year we'll be going there and also Boston, Virginia and New Jersey if finances allow (needs to be cheaper than this year's trip to WDW will be!)
In 2009 I want to visit the west coast taking in California (Anaheim for DL, San Francisco, Los Angeles), Vegas and maybe Arizona.

You've chosen some good places to visit. We haven't been to DL yet, but have discussed a DL to Vegas trip in the past. I'll definitely add that to the possibilities this year.

Are you considering visiting New York, Boston, Virginia, & New Jersey in one trip? If so, that would be a whole lot of driving. There's lots of things in VA & the surrounding areas to combine for a great vacation. Williamsburg, VA is a must see. You could visit the Amish Country in Pennsylvania from there. That's a very unique experience, & definitely worth a visit. You may enjoy Gettysburg as well. Washington, DC is also a reasonable distance from there. There's way too much to mention here, but if you ever decide to visit that area, I'd be happy to offer some suggestions. The same goes for the NYC area also :)

Our only experience in New Jersey is the area across from NYC, & Atlantic City. Let's just say, I'd rather visit NYC & Vegas. ;) Where were you thinking of visiting in Jersey? It may be somewhere we've never thought of. We're always open to suggestions.
