This one is for the ladies,

I've been trying to find some nice jeans for awhile. On the weekends If I take in a movie or dinner I like a nice pair of jeans that I can dress up or down. The problem is every thing in the mall is the "low rise" or ultra low rise. Now I'm a 40 some thing mom with real curves (size 10-12). I like to my jeans to cover my back side and at my age, low is not an adjective I want associated with my deirrer (sp?)

Help? :confused3

I'm a size 12 and I'm 49. I know what you mean.

I like Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. They fit me well and they're usually under $20 in SEars or Kohls. They also come in colors-- I have quite a variety from the years I spent as a SAHM.

I am 26 and a size 12. I have been about this size since HS. I used to buy Old Navy and Gap but their sizes are so strange now that a 16 doesn't fit. So I buy at Walmart. I like the Levis. My husband calls them my old woman jeans...at least my roll isn't hanging over the top and I refuse to tuck anything in!:scared1:

I like L.L. Bean. I can get the ones with the elastic in the waist so they fit better (they have a little give).

I'm a plus size gal and accidently bought a low rise pair. It just isn't pretty and I hate hiking the things up every time I stand up.

I like just the plain old Lee Riders from Walmart. Under $20, and they don't leave my undies hanging out for all to see.

I like Talbots. They're a little more expensive, but they fit in all the right places.

I like Talbots also. For a cheaper alternative, I like Liz Claiborne. They fit me very similarly to Talbots.

I love my Talbot jeans!
But, I'm a little thicker than the OP so I buy my jeans from Lane Bryant. It's like I'm a little too big for the regular mall but I'm too little for Lane Bryant's clothes. But, with that said, I can wear their jeans in petite. :cutie:

I love the A.N.A. brand from JcPenny. I also have more "mom" jeans from Land's End.

I love the A.N.A.' also. I wear jeans everyday. As a plus size girl low rise is not a good thing. I have 4 pairs or the A.N.A jeans.

I actually like their midrise ones. Everything stays covered but I still feel a little "hip" (pun intended, haha) They have mid rise dressier pants that I like too (at Kohl's).

I also like LLBean's jeans. (Having an outlet helps, they're as cheap as Walmart then!)

Try Jag Jeans. I found them at Nordstrom. The foster version sits very well at just below the waist and not too low rise and I love the dark demin (can be dressed up). They have a bit of stretch to them, so recommendations I have read said that always by a size smaller if you are between sizes. So if you are a 10-12, then definately get a 10.

I wear size 14 and shop at Lane Bryant for Jeans, they have a really great fit in my opinion, they are tight in all the RIGHT places and lose enough in the others to slim me down and make my butt look great. Which is a hard thing to find in a jean for me these days. :lmao:

I also buy mine at Talbots. They aren't cheap, but the fit and look decent!

I had this problem back in January. I literally tried on 50-60 pairs of jeans at Kohls, Macys, Gap, Eddie Bauer, American Eagle, True Jeans and Bluefly. NONE of them fit. I finally went to The Buckle and a salesperson there helped me find some jeans. They are Lucky Brand and I love them. They will hem for free. They are expensive.

i'm shortwaisted need a lower rise, have to watch to not get the ultra lows for "mom's crack";) not to be confused with plumbers:rotfl:

anything with a bit of lycra is a lifesaver.

for everyday ones, i've had good luck with the target/mossimos; otherwise JCPennys has a couple different styles/brands (all in house ones) i buy

Bandolinoblu from Macy's!!! I swear to you, I put these jeans on and everyone thought I'd lost 10 pounds. They have a rise that's just high enough to cover the trouble spot without looking like Granny pants. First jeans I've ever bought that have fit me perfectly! These are somewhere between $25 and $30.

btw--inspired by my skinny jeans, I have actually lost 10 lbs and need a smaller size!!!

that's really funny ~ i just bought a pair of these from bob's!! i've worn lee's one true fit for about 2-3 years (which fit soooo well: just below waist, slighly stretchy (no muffin tops:rolleyes1 ), fit hip & thigh perfectly, boot leg opening), so of course, they stopped making them :sad1:
the banolinoblu jeans fit pretty much the same way: no "gap", a bit of stretch, etc ~ i was thrilled to fit another brand for women without
"stick" figures (where the hips & waist are the same size :confused3 ), that still don't look like "Mom Jeans":sad2:
& budget related: between coupons & bob's reward certificates, i paid $1.03 total for the jeans and an NYMets t-shirt

I like the Mossimo ones from Target right now. I wear a 16 and these fit nicely and have just enough stretch to them!

I love levis 550's extra room in the butt and legs. :) Mens orange tag 550's are lower rise.....
