This has nothing to do with Disney, but more with online shopping and I'm really at a loss as to what to do here. I ordered an area rug for about $90 from Target.com. They sent it UPS, UPS tracking says it was delivered to my address, but left on the porch. I didn't get it so I contacted UPS who told me to contact Target. Target guest services was very helpful and offered to either ship me another rug or a refund so I chose to have the rug shipped again. Well, UPS said it was delivered on April 27 at 3:32pm. I was home on April 27th all day, I saw the UPS truck on my cul-de-sac delivering a package to a neighbor (too small to be my rug), and then they left again. They said it was delivered to a woman?? I double checked the address I had it delivered to and it is correct. I contacted UPS again and they said a tracer would have to be put on it by Target so I contacted Target again. They offered me another rug or a refund again.

I do want this rug, but I'm scared to have it shipped UPS again. Also, I'm afraid that if I keep going through this Target is going to think I'm a fraud! What should I do? Has anyone had problems with UPS like this before? I have been shopping online for at least 4 years now with no problems like this! I am getting so angry with them. :badpc:

you would think the 2nd time, they would have someone sign for it. get it shipped again and tell them no drop offs, have them ask to sign or don't leave it. I'd be pissed, not worried wether some store would think I was a fraud. If they refuse you another rug or money back, go thru your CC and get your money back. It's UPS's fault you don't have it.

I'm curious, after the second time they delivered you said it was delivered to a "woman" then this woman should have signed for it, correct??

They didn't say if she did, but I assume so, I usually have to sign, although I did have a driver set something by my front door when we were obviously home, my door was open and my dd saw him out the door and said "Mommy, there's a grown-up at the door. He was walking away when I came to the door so I didn't sign anything. :confused3

If you have the tracking number for the second shipment, go online and look it up. If it was indeed "signed for" it would have the name of the person who signed for it online. At least that is what it shows for items I've tracked (eBay shipments).

I second the idea of having them make sure you sign for items, I no longer allow UPS to leave items at my front door for me to find (whenever) I go out there. I run a business on my property but in the back of the property so I rarely check my front door/porch for anything, Good luck!

The same thing happened to me. The Ups driver actually argued with me. He said he left it and that he knows where he left it because he pulled up my trash can. I said no that I would remember that. anyway we finally got another one shipped. Lesson learned I will not ship UPS in the future.

How far away is the UPS sorting center is from your house? Wonder if you could pick up the next rug there instead of having them put it on the truck for delivery?

Could Target deliver it to their local store and have you pick it up there?

I just moved here so I don't know my way around well enough to look for a sorting center, but I like the idea of asking them to deliver to a local Target store. If not I think I will just get my money back. I had bought it online in the first place because I had a code and they were having free shipping at the time so it came out cheaper than it would have been in the store, but I'm starting to think it wasn't worth it.

When I checked the tracking it said "MC Woman" where it said it was delivered :confused3 I guess that means no signature or maybe it wasn't legible? I guess MC might be initials (not mine, however!). How do I specifically request that I sign for it? Do I just contact UPS or what?

By the time I get my rug the Army will have moved us into a house with carpeting LOL!
Thanks for all of your suggestions, I thought maybe I was overreacting. You've given me some options I hadn't thought about.

I just had this same thing happen to me with an Avon order. It said on line tracking ..delivered. Left on deck. Well I looked all over, in bushes etc. Finally called an 800 number ,who knows where that was ,and had to agrue with a surlly person insisting that it was delivered. "If the driver said he delivered it to 25 Frost Pond Rd it is there!!!" No its not...got no wherethis that person, half an hour later my neighbor called at 5 Frost Pond Rd. and said she found a package on the deck. So I got my package but good luck trying to get them to admit they were wrong. Hope you find your rug. But it is not your problem you should have Target go after them. Maybe if companies stop using them they will wake up. UPS used to be so good. :earsgirl:

The normal policy of United Parcel is if they are delivering to a residence and there is nobody home they will abandon the item and reported it as delivered. Some at least will make an attempt to sort of hide the item. The only exception to this is if the shipper states that Signature is Required.

I just moved here so I don't know my way around well enough to look for a sorting center
Just click on Find Location and just be sure to unclick the boxes for authorized shipping outlets and drop boxes and that would help you find the nearest location to you.
How do I specifically request that I sign for it? Do I just contact UPS or what?

Just call 1-800-PICK-UPS (or 1-800-742-5877), I assume you are in the US so that would be the number. You'll have to get to a live person and explain that you want to make sure that your address is set up in their system to have a "signature requirement" added to your address. I've done that and not had them throw an item on my porch since! :)
