Country Western Newbie here. Fell in love with TA during Celebrity Apprentice and loved the song he sung at the last show.

I remember hearing a wonderful country/western song several years ago....it was about a father/husband walking to his home and saying how the best view he ever saw was being on the outside looking in. It was very sweet...boy with a sippy cup, toddler with shoes on the wrong feet....very touching.

Was this also Trace Adkins?

Also caught a commercial promoting marriage and hanging in there. Also very touching...was this also him?

Sorry for being so ignorant....I'm a classical violinist if that helps excuse my ignorance. :lmao:

This is by Lonestar My Front Porch Looking

oh yeah
Yeah oh yeah

The only ground I ever owned was sticking to my shoes
Now I look at my front porch and this panoramic view
I can sit and watch the fields fill up
With rays of glowing sun
Or watch the moon lay on the fences
Like that's where it was hung
My blessings are in front of me
It's not about the land
I'll never beat the view
From my front porch looking in

There's a carrot top who can barely walk
With a sippy cup of milk
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong
'Cause she likes to dress herself
And the most beautiful girl holding both of them
And the view I love the most
Is my front porch looking in, yeah

I've traveled here and everywhere
Following my job
I've seen the paintings from the air
Brushed by the hand of God
The mountains and the canyons reach from sea to shining sea
But I can't wait to get back home
To the one he made for me
It's anywhere I'll ever go and everywhere I've been
Nothing takes my breath away
Like my front porch looking in

There's a carrot top who can barely walk
With a sippy cup of milk
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong
'Cause she likes to dress herself
And the most beautiful girl holding both of them
Yeah the view I love the most
Is my front porch looking in

I see what beautiful is about
When I'm looking in
Not when I'm looking out

There's a carrot top who can barely walk
With a sippy cup of milk
A little blue eyed blonde with shoes on wrong
'Cause she likes to dress herself
And the most beautiful girl holding both of them
Yeah the view I love the most

Oh, the view I love the most

No, Kenny Rogers Through the years

I can't remember when you weren't there
When I didn't care for anyone but you
I swear we've been through everything there is
Can't imagine anything we've missed
Can't imagine anything the two of us can't do

Through the years, you've never let me down
You turned my life around, the sweetest days I've found
I've found with you ... Through the years
I've never been afraid, I've loved the life we've made
And I'm so glad I've stayed, right here with you
Through the years

I can't remember what I used to do
Who I trusted, who I listened to before
I swear you taught me everything I know
Can't imagine needing someone so
But through the years it seems to me
I need you more and more

Through the years, through all the good and bad
I KNOW how much we had, I've always been so glad
To be with you ... Through the years
It's better every day, you've kissed my tears away
As long as it's okay, I'll stay with you
Through the years

Through the years, when everything went wrong
Together we were strong, I know that I belong
Right here with you ... Through the years
I never had a doubt, we'd always work things out
I've learned what life's about, by loving you
Through the years

Through the years, you've never let me down
You've turned my life around, the sweetest days I've found
I've found with you ... Through the years
It's better every day, you've kissed my tears away
As long as it's okay, I'll stay with you
Through the years...

I'm a country music fan, have liked many of Trace's songs over the years. It was nice to see him on Celebrity Apprentice, I thought he came across as a true gentleman! He was funny too!

He was great!! He just cracked me up talking about the "BSBs"...:rotfl: :rotfl:

That was priceless! I always liked his music, now I really like him as a person, he showed what a down-to-earth man he really is. Nice that there are a few left in show business.;)

Thank you dabute for posting the words.

The first one was so absolutely sweet (Front Porch) that it brough tears to my eyes.

I'm definately going to add CW to my music collection (which is mostly classical and some jazz).

Let me know if the Kenny Rogers song isn't the one you are looking for. I'm not familiar with the commercial but there are a number of songs with that theme I could name.

I don't recognize the Kenny Roger words. I'll make it a point to recognize the commercial next time I see it.

I know it had something to do with eating burnt food and asking for seconds just to see the smile on his new wifes face. OK,...I know that is very general but maybe it helps.

That's "The Good Stuff" by Kenny Chesney.

And it's the way that she looks with the rice in her
hair
Eatin' burnt supper the whole first year
And askin' for seconds to keep her from tearin' up
Yeah man, that's the good stuff

I loved Trace on there too! Hate to see the show come to the a end. Can't wait for the next one!

Thank you mrsklamc

that is exactly the song! Now I need to figure out I-tunes as it is apparent I'm liking lot's of songs from different artists. I need to learn how to download individual songs.

has anyone read his book? is it any good?
i just went to you tube, wow, he looks really good in his videos.

If you like family themed songs in that vein, you will also want to look for

"I'm Already There", also by Lonestar. I'm a tough guy and the first time I heard, I had to pll my truck over because my eyes were brimming...

Also check out "Little Moments" by Brad Paisley - the song is in the same vein as the Kenny Chesney one mentioned above - adorable song.

Another great Country song is "The Greatest" by Kenny Rogers. Very simple but cute.

For a good laugh, watch the Brad Paisley video of "Celebrity" featuring Jason Alexander, William Shatner and Little Jimmy Dickens.

I always gripe when Trace comes out with a new CD! I can't maintain mascara or eyeliner in it's appropriate place on my face for the run of the first release!! Dang tear-jerkers!! Have to wait for some "Honkytonk Badonkadonk" type song to come around before I can turn the radio back on!

BTW, somebody else has a real sweetheart of a song called "stealing Cindarella" that I actually had to pull off the side of the road cause I was crying so hard. My girls are 8 and 9 and I just relate so much to this stuff! Well, ok, I do kinda have a crying problem, maybe.

It was!! My DD & I were talking about that again tonight!! I wish I had DVR just so I could watch that part again!!

If you go to www.hulu.com you can watch the Celebrity Apprentice shows for free. They may even have that segment as a seperate clip. A lot of the shows on hulu are both in their entirety as well as short clips.
