How much do you pay.
I am trying to find a good place and I do not want to overpay.
How much do you pay for your pest control and who is it through?

We use a local company -- Southeast Termite & Pest. Our cost has stayed the same for the past 5 years. It is $50 every three months, plus $100 annually for termite contract. He also will come back at no charge in between sprayings if you have a problem. We've never had a problem.

I'll add this -- before we went with Southeast, we used HomeDefense by Ortho in the big green jug... it worked just as well.

We use Orkin for pest control and pay $80 every other month. I should add that we live in the country with almost 3 acres and lots of trees, so the price may be different on a different lot. I have to say that we have been very pleased with the service and the payment includes extra visits for bees, ants or anything that turns up even in the off month. The same person comes consistently so we have gotten to know him and I feel comfortable when he comes and I am home alone.

I'm so glad you posted this! We've always had some spiders here and there, but this weekend when raking out the yard beds I pulled out a black widow from right in front of DH's study window :scared:

If I may add some questions in addition to the price - do most places also do garage and attic spraying? Does it include the perimeter and the inside of the house?

I am in Georgia and we use Orkin Pest Control. We pay $65 every other month and can call anytime we see any pests for an additional visit at no charge. We have not had to ever do that though. This does include the perimeter and inside of the house as well as ants.

Terminix - $75 per quarter. Includes outside, garage, and inside (if we want, but I usually don't do inside). We can call anytime we see a problem and they will come out at no additional charge.

Ours is a little over 300.00 year for termite contract and baiting stations around our house. We live in SC.

I'll add-- mine includes interior of house, outside perimeter, garage, tornado shelter and storage barn.

BEWARE of Black Widows-- DH got bit last fall when moving some lumber. He spent the night in the hospital and was in excruciating pain.

I use a small local outfit on the recommendation of a friend. I've found that the "mom and pop" shops are generally cheaper then the big chains. I'm paying $80 once a quarter with free retreatments if necessary. My termite bond (which includes repairs if we have any termite damage) is $250/year.

I have terminex for termites and HAD them for pests. I dropped the pest because they were awful. I'd call for a re-treat and they'd take a message saying our guy would get back to us and he never would. In the beginning we had a great guy but he left and then they just stunk afterwards. My termite is fine since that's handled through a different office. DH treats it himself now and it's has actually worked out better and cheaper.
