Ot==snow day tomorrow!!!

Looks like Northeast Ohio is going to totally miss this one... that's quite a change!

We are 4 hours into the snow warning, and it has been raining. I live north of Milwaukee and we were in the path of 12-18 inches of snow. I hope it stays this way, I hate snow.

Looks like you're in Blizzard Warning now down by you.

Okay, I've gotta go against the grain here. Snow?!?! YUCK! You guys are nuts! I can't stand the stuff. I live in Indiana, and still don't like it. Can't convince DW to move to Florida, preferably close to Orlando area. :rotfl2:

But IF it is going to snow...at least make it big enough I get a day (or 2?!!) off! (plus it is SO pretty now...)
Blizzard warnings now...I'd say we have at least 6 inches on top of 3 inches from Sunday...plus it isn't going to stop snowing until tomorrow morning...and the 40-50mph winds start this evening.
So far we picked up the house (DD--"I thought snow days were for relaxing!"), I have brownies & cinnamon rolls in the oven, and chicken tortilla soup in the crock pot. Have been choosing recipes for dinnes/treats for the next month...AND surfing the web, of course!:surfweb:Had a haircut/color this afternoon...hairdresser calls this AM--would you like to come in earlier before it gets bad....UM, NO!
Boys--TV & video games
DD--reading, surfing, now sledding w/ neighbors
DH--scooping & surfing
AH...brownies done!

Another Nebraskan here and enjoying the snow day! I love snow when I can stay home and watch it from the window! It seems so much more Christmasy now. Kids are out sledding now. I wouldn't be surprised if we had another tomorrow.

I used to teach before I became a SAHM and I don't think anyone prays for a snow day like a teacher does! LOL! I feel really bad for one of the districts in our area because they called off school but are making teachers report! Evil District 66!

Here in West Texas (Lubbock) we're on a 2 hour delay - the roads are a sheet of ice. Current weather conditions - freezing fog! As a recent transplant from Key West, I can't believe this weather.

Nancy

I can soooo remember trudging to an early class in one of these storms in college. Seems like it was ice a lot and not so much snow, at least the 6 years I lived in Lubbock.
I would love to tell you it gets better- but to really doesn't. If you just moved there- experienced a W.Texas sandstorm? Now THAT is brutal!!!!

Looks like they are already canceling some activities for tomorrow..looks like DD will have at least a full snow day and possible late start on Thur..even my step father is considering calling into work, since we live about a hours drive from his job...I really am in the wrong state..I HATE the cold..

We are on our second snow day here in Nevada. First snow days in my 10 years of teaching :cool1:

OOooo I lived in Reno for the majority of my life, only just moved to MS in 2007. My daughter still lives there and was telling me how much snow town had. I don't miss that at all!

Enjoy your snow days.

It's snowing here in Wausau. It has been for the whole day. My DS12's basketball game for tonight was cancelled. I'm with you, I hate snow!

I'm just thanking my lucky stars that we had to change our Disney trip. We were supposed to fly out of MKE on Wednesday morning! We are leaving Saturday which the weather so far looks good!

For us in MI I think the lake effect Wednesday night will be worse than the "Storm" tonight. They put the stupid storm watch icons and radars on the tv Monday before school already. I hate all the cry wolf hype every time it snows here, which is 3x+ a week.

Right now in Iowa we are in the middle of it! It's been snowing all day, kids had an early out, now they are hoping for a snow day tomorrow. Since our winter storm advisory turns into a blizzard watch tonight, I'm thinking we'll be at home tomorrow. Looks like Christmas in the heartland! If only elves would shovel my driveway....

My fingers are crossed for Thursday! (I'm in NY so I still have a day!)

I know! It happens all the time, and then nothing ever materializes.

Yum! I wanna come to your house! I don't think I have all the stuff to make soup but that sounds sooo good right now!

The kids already have tomorrow off & the winds are picking up. I'm very thankful we have a home and plenty of food.

I think my project tomorrow besides writing a paper will be to find the insulation & plug up some of these window drafts!

I saw that too, there were a couple places that required the teachers to show!

So which district do you recommend teaching in? I'll be looking for a job in a year or two and wondering about personal experiences & the good/bad.

I live right on the lake in Bay View. They keep changing their mind on how much we are going to get. Now they are saying inland is going to get the blizzard. UGG!:happytv:

Man I would love a snow day on Thursday--Parent/Teacher conference night! lol

Of course this would be the one time NE Ohio misses out. :p

well they have officially closed the schools in our area for tomorrow....about 10 schools or so I'd say have closed and the snow hasn't even hit the hardest yet..and we're under a Blizzard Warning..oh the joys of living in Wisconsin lol

blizzard warning here in GC, Wisconsin. It was cold walking home but the snow wasnt that bad (about a half hour ago). So far im off tommrow but if the schools get a snow day I may be needed ICK!

I love these days off. I know a lot of teachers go shopping but I can usually find enough to do in my nice warm house. Today I did a lot of wrapping for Christmas. Then my DNiece who lives down the street came over since there was no school. We got our prezels and oreos dipped in chocolate. I think she wore more than she got on the cookies and pretzels but she had a blast. She is in pre-kdg and doesn't "get" why there wasn't school today!
