Looks like you're in Blizzard Warning now down by you.We are 4 hours into the snow warning, and it has been raining. I live north of Milwaukee and we were in the path of 12-18 inches of snow. I hope it stays this way, I hate snow.

Okay, I've gotta go against the grain here. Snow?!?! YUCK! You guys are nuts! I can't stand the stuff. I live in Indiana, and still don't like it. Can't convince DW to move to Florida, preferably close to Orlando area.![]()
Had a haircut/color this afternoon...hairdresser calls this AM--would you like to come in earlier before it gets bad....UM, NO!
I feel really bad for one of the districts in our area because they called off school but are making teachers report! Evil District 66!Here in West Texas (Lubbock) we're on a 2 hour delay - the roads are a sheet of ice. Current weather conditions - freezing fog! As a recent transplant from Key West, I can't believe this weather.

We are on our second snow day here in Nevada. First snow days in my 10 years of teaching![]()

I know! It happens all the time, and then nothing ever materializes. For us in MI I think the lake effect Wednesday night will be worse than the "Storm" tonight. They put the stupid storm watch icons and radars on the tv Monday before school already. I hate all the cry wolf hype every time it snows here, which is 3x+ a week.
But IF it is going to snow...at least make it big enough I get a day (or 2?!!) off! (plus it is SO pretty now...)
Blizzard warnings now...I'd say we have at least 6 inches on top of 3 inches from Sunday...plus it isn't going to stop snowing until tomorrow morning...and the 40-50mph winds start this evening.
So far we picked up the house (DD--"I thought snow days were for relaxing!"), I have brownies & cinnamon rolls in the oven, and chicken tortilla soup in the crock pot. Have been choosing recipes for dinnes/treats for the next month...AND surfing the web, of course!Had a haircut/color this afternoon...hairdresser calls this AM--would you like to come in earlier before it gets bad....UM, NO!
Boys--TV & video games
DD--reading, surfing, now sledding w/ neighbors
DH--scooping & surfing
AH...brownies done!
Another Nebraskan here and enjoying the snow day! I love snow when I can stay home and watch it from the window! It seems so much more Christmasy now. Kids are out sledding now. I wouldn't be surprised if we had another tomorrow.
I used to teach before I became a SAHM and I don't think anyone prays for a snow day like a teacher does! LOL!I feel really bad for one of the districts in our area because they called off school but are making teachers report! Evil District 66!

but not enough for a snow day
I know a lot of teachers go shopping but I can usually find enough to do in my nice warm house. Today I did a lot of wrapping for Christmas. Then my DNiece who lives down the street came over since there was no school. We got our prezels and oreos dipped in chocolate. I think she wore more than she got on the cookies and pretzels but she had a blast. She is in pre-kdg and doesn't "get" why there wasn't school today!
