OT-- Recipe help!

If no one here can help you than I would try the cooking board. I'm going to copy this post over there.

Have you made mac 'n cheese from scratch before? Substituting whole wheat pasta is easy, but it will change the flavor; my kids would not eat it as they just don't like the taste of ww pasta.

I make it but I dont measure a thing. Sorry about that. I do not make a saucey type of mac N cheese. Mine is more of a firm type.

Elbow noodles - boil until el dente

Spray your baking dish with Pam. I use a 13 x 9 x 2 glass dish.
Drain hot noodles and add to pan with some slices of real butter, stir to coat the noodles.
I add milk to just slightly more than half up the side of the pan. I use can evap. milk so use about 1 3/4 cans.
Stir in cheddar cheese, about 3 cups. I have also added moz. cheese at times.
Whisk one egg in a seperate bowl and pour down the middle of the dish. Stir in.
Take another cup of cheese (or more if you like) and completely spread on top.
Bake at 350 for about 30-40 minutes. It may look like some of the milk did not absorb all the way but when you take it out and let it rest for a few minutes, it will firm up.
