My dd is a having a b-day party at club libby lu next month. She will be turning 5. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a party here. There will be about 4 or 5 girls. I was thinking about going to the mall food court afer the makeovers and buy pizza for everyone. I always get nervous around dd's b-day parties b/c I want everyone to have a great time. Anyone have something positive to share about this place?:yay:

We have not done a birthday party at Libby Lu, but my dd and dn had a session there and loved it. I have seen parties going on while there and I think any little girl would have a great time! The girls get all done up - sing songs, take pictures, etc.
And pizza afterwards would be yummy for them!
Have fun - and don't worry...it'll be great! :thumbsup2

My DD just had her 7th birthday party there. She loved it!! We invited 7, and I was glad two couldn't come because I was constantly counting heads! At 5 you might get more moms staying though. We also walked down to the food court when they were done. It worked out really well. My DH met us in the food court for the pizza and cake.

Besides her own, my DD has been to two other parties there. I think one girl didn't like it, but she is very much a tomboy. When they aren't getting made up they are pretty free to roam the store. That made me just a bit nervous, and why I was always counting heads. Different stores might do it differently.

I had never done a party away from my house before. I thought I was organized, but I forgot a lighter for the candles on the cake. My DH ran and bought an expensive Colts lighter! So he got a new toy also!:lmao:

One other funny story - When we were walking to the food court, an older lady asked to take their picture. I am sure she just thought they were cute, but I said no. Luckily, I could use the excuse that only one was mine, and I didn't know how the other moms would feel about it. She was probably between 70 and 80 years old!

My 6 year old went to a party at Libby Lu and had a lot of fun. Her hair was so cute - but I think they used about 25 bobby pins to hold it all in one place.

My DGD had a birthday party there and loved it! I joined my DD to help with the girls and it was so much fun to watch. The girls pick a theme and then get made over. After the makeover they have a little parade. It was cute.

DD took the girls and their parent for pizza after the party. She did keep it small, 4 or 5 girls including DGD, IIRC.

We had my daughter's birthday party there when she turned six. She brought two friends (just two because we actually have to drive about an hour away to get to the mall that has Libby Lu here). The girls loved getting the makeup and hair done and afterwards they got to do a little dance in the middle of the store. It was a lot of fun. We went to a restaurant near the mall for lunch and dessert. On the way back, all three of the little "pop stars" fell asleep in the back seat, so it was definitely a full day of excitement for them.

DD9 just had her birthday there in August. We LOVED it!! We had DD plus 5 other girls so I begged my BFF/SIL to join me in counting heads and that was a lifesaver!! We checked in, each girl went up and picked out their style and one accessory that goes with their style, I paid, the girls sat down and got styled, then when they were done they went to the back of the room and picked out 5 items for their very awesome Hannah Montana bags (was sooo cool, *** they were out of the Libby Lu bags they normally give out and these HM ones were $5 each if we had bought them!) and then the birthday girl picked a song to dance to (ChaCha Slide *** we play it at home a lot) and everyone danced. Afterwards, I took them to Carl's Jr. in the mall and then we went to the JC Penney's portrait studio for a "Fashion Photo Shoot" where each girl got individual photos taken and then a few group shots. In the end, I made little albums for each girl with pictures from the sleepover and them all playing wiffle ball the night before and then of them being made up and then finally each girl got a 5x7 of them from Penneys and a 5x7 of the group. Lucked out, Target dollar spot had the albums before the party!!!

Your DD and her friends will have a blast!! I had my DD's 5th b-day party there this past February. It was her and her 3 closest friends. We did the Hannah Montana party and all the girls were done up with wigs and makeup and got to dress up and dance to "best of both worlds". Plus they also got to pick 5 gifts to put in their bag. Afterwards, we went to the mall for pizza and cake. Everyone had so much fun!!! Enjoy and take plenty of pictures. It's a great time!

Thanks to all for getting me excited about this party! I sounds like my dd and friends are going to have a ball. I just love doing girly things ike this!

I had DD's 4th birthday party there last January and we loved it! It actually wound up being one of my more economical parties if you can believe it! I paid $35 per child and they got to pick one of those little dogs, and bag and shirt, then get their makeover. All the little girls had so much fun and looked so cute! My dd got the princess "do" and then we took some photos and headed to the food court. I had the party from 1-3 and then we went to the food court where I had set up some tables with tablecloths and had cupcakes and some Starbucks coffee to go.

Because of the little dogs, and make-up I didn't feel the need to do goody bags and so I just paid for each child and then brought the cupcakes and paper products.

It was so much fun! I have three sons so I love doing these "girly" things with dd! This January I think we are heading to build a bear to make a doll!
