OT - Part 4 who said we are posting for the record

When we used the tunnel last year with friends our swab test came back positive for explosives . Turned out that my friend had been sorting out her rose bush they day before and the manure in the compost she was using had left a slight trace on the car handle when she had touched the handle after doing her gardening!

They seem to have stopped doing the testing One thing that needs to improve is the UK Immigration (sorry Board control people) they are so slow both at the ferry & tunnel, and I think many can have lessons in customer services as many we have come across as being very rude. I work in customer serive & if I spoke to && treated people like they do I would be pulled up very quickly.

Although my mum was not impressed as when we were pulled over once we were asked to step out of the car and the bloke asked my mum if she was OK to get out or needed to stay in the car! My mum got out. All my dad was twittering about was if he could take his bacon buttie with him!

Similarly we have been very lucky. Troops were quite thrilled that we were stopped coming home for a spot check. Only the adults had to get out of the car and after waiting for the confirmation that we were not carrying drugs nor explosives we were bid farewell

We must have been lucky as most of them we have met seemed OK. I'm talking about the people at the passport control, the spot checks on cars will be carried out by Customs or the Police, we have never had a problem with them.

I have come across some friendly immigration people, but they seem to be few & far between. All we ask for is politeness as we always are but you get several who don't even acknowledge you or say please/thank you ( that is one of my biggest pets hates) I work with enough people who are like that but at least i'm getting paid.
