Go to Disney World! I can't concentrate on work for some reason with her here today (probably because she is BORED and annoying me!)

I think DD and I will be off to MK in a few minutes! Hopefully lots of folks stayed away and it will be a nice quiet afternoon!!!

I am sure we are in for some rain and wind this afternoon, but nothing a couple ponchos can't handle!!!!

Always up for an adventure!

Go for it, if I lived that close I wouldn't even think twice about it. :thumbsup2

It was soo warm though. It was like a shower and better than sweating. Just can't use my Rebel XT in those conditions. And it is realy freezing when you go inside.

She should do schoolwork and try to get ahead. Whether in her bedroom or outdoors under a tree is up to her. This way if there is a makeup day suddenly scheduled on your real already-booked Disney vacation, she can miss school that day and not fall behind.

School make up day is the day before Thanksgiving... and no we don't have a Disney vacation planned.... we will be there for T-giving dinner the next day, and the next day with visiting family.... so no chance she will miss the day!

My camera must be a FL camera as it NEVER fogs up...... not even today.

No rain on the way to the park,
Called on the way at 1:45 and got ADRs at Liberty Tree for 4pm (good thing - we had not had lunch!)v

no rain entering the park...
It was a great day at the park - so VERY empty. If you are familiar with the parking lots - only Minnie and a few rows of Goofy had cars. We one of three families on the tram to the TTC. Walked up on the ramp to a waiting monorail. No body in line for Security, and those 1 finger scanners - are sweet! Played in VMK for a bit....

No rain to cancel the parade.....
We walked out to Main Street at 3pm and got front row seats for the parade....
Walked back to Fantasyland... hardly anyone in front on castle... DD rode carousel (walk on)

Walked past Peter Pan 20 min wait at 3:30 in the afternoon! No mass parking lot of strollers. Fantasyland looked "deserted"

Liberty Tree dinner was fabulous.... at 5pm the rains came. We donned our ponchos and headed back to Haunted Mansion.... then we proceeded to walk to BTMRR (I fell on my already very hurt knee - owie!!!! But I walked on)

BTMRR - 5 min wait... DD rode, and rode, and rode and rode EIGHT more times. In all eleven rides she only had to get off TWICE. She was happy - Martha was WET - but I took pics!

Walked to POTC - 5 min (not even) wait - walked right on and got in a boat.

Walked onto Jungle Cruise, DD walked onto Magic Carpets... and then the Lightning came.. and we decided it was time to call an end to our fun spur ot he moment adventure! We were wet, my knee hurts so bad I want to cry.... we walked onto the ferry to ride back to TTC (no way was I able to walk up the ramp to the monorail). Walked onto the waiting tram, and back to our car.

Now we are home... we were wet, but we had sucn a wonderful spur of the moment MAGICAL day.... better than sitting at home doing school work any day!

Thanks ERNESTO for the opportunity!

Oh - and when I got home - my new wide angle and telephoto converters for my S2 were waiting at the door..... Can't wait until Saturday - at CM for lunch and whatever other trouble we can find!

Pics to follow of a very empty park!

We did Chef Mickeys for lunch 2 weeks ago, Selection was not as big as their Bfast or dinner(no carving station). But overall the family loved it.
Best Ribs in Disney World, we had just done WCC a few days prior.

OH AND THE CHEESECAKE LOLIPOPS :cloud9:

Here is Main Street right before the 3pm Parade (excuse me... what time is the 3 O'clock parade?)

(I had a smudge on my lens I guess... I have a bit of a "blur" on some of my photos from the day!)

Glad you had a great day. My 11 yo DD was sooooo envious that you could just pick up and go. Please keep some pictures coming. We want to see more empty MK pics.

mak do not ever post a picture of yourself! Look alikes will bump you off and take your place, so they can live so close, like you. And then do a spur of the moment trip....

Glad you had fun and sorry to hear about the bad knee. Spend the forty and get an electric chair. I am sure they had extras that day.

I look forward to the pics!

Have you not noticed that I am NEVER in pics... it is rare that I am the subject of a picture..... Now I have a really good excuse, other than I hate the way I look in photos!!!!

You know, the ECV crossed my mind, but if you ever go over to some of the other boards there is great judgement against folks using that who aren't disabled! I didn't want to be the subject of someones "rant" or "pet peeves" in the Parks post!!! I sure did wish there was a way to get to the parking lot without having to walk to the monorail or ferry and then to the tram though...

Here's the link to photobucket for all the pics I took yesterday. They will eventually be organized by area of the park... but for now you can all look at them this way rather than trying to decide which ones to post..

There may be some that need to be weeked out.. I just did a bulk upload to PHOTOBUCKET last night.

The first pic is my dog Princess.. .it was on the memory card, and I just think she looks so cute sleeping!

Crowd levels I can only *dream* of!!

It sounds like an excellent day!! I am glad you were able to take advantage of your Ernesto Day off. I doubt many grade school aged kids would have stuff at home to be able to work ahead, so I think you might the right choice. :goodvibes Can't wait to see what you can do with your new accessories!

You're killing me, Mikeeee! LOVE those crowd levels - sorry about all of your rain.

Nice pic, btw. :thumbsup2

Great day Martha! I'm envious. Excellent pics, I especially love the 1st pic on the 2nd page with Pinnochio and Jiminie Cricket (ps: I hate spelling). Excellent composition on that one.

As for no crowds. I highyl recommend an early breakfast ADR at Crystal Palace. We had one for 8:05am. Park didn't open till 9am. They let us in starting at 7:45am. We were one of the first 100 or so people in the park. If we do go again next year after Thanksgiving I want to get another breakfast at this time. That time of year with the sun rising later should give some very good light to take some interesting pictures. Thats something to think about Martha.

Here is my "Low Crowds" picture: Taken about 7:55am back at the beginning of June.

Thank Kyle - that is a beautiful photo.

Twice in the spring, I made ADRs for MK and AK early to get some photos early with no crowds, only both times did not work out so well!

AK morning, I thought I left our passes at home - called from car to change ADR to a bit later, turned around came home, opened car door on Tara's side and there they were in the car all the time..... we got there in what was quite a opening mob scene as it was one of the first EE weekends!

Fast forward to April. Reservations for Cinderellas Royal Table 8:20am - before opening OR SO I THOUGHT... it was EARTH DAY and the park opened at 8:00. I had made them far in advance and I think the calendar changed!

We have ADRs for Christmas morning at 9am. The park opens at 8am that morning, but I was afraid to make it too early, and have trouble getting Tara away from presents, as it is we will need to leave around 7:00am to ensure that we don't have to rush too much once we get to the TTC. My mother will be with us, and she does not move to quickly. She's 82.

(Oy - Christmas shopping....)

Here are a few more photos from Wedneday. There is a "live" trip report happening on the Theme park board, and by the looks of his photos - the parks remained uncrowded yesterday.

After the rain started..

Walk right onto Jungle Cruise... - that's Capt Jack that Tara is holding in her hands.... I just can't EVER seem to get out of the parks without buying that child SOMETHING.
IMG_0812.jpg

No problem getting a good spot for Spectromagic this night! I'm guessing the probably didn't have it though! The quality is not great - It was raining too hard to spend too much time setting the camera. I just wanted it show the "emptiness".

The ominous clouds hanging over the Contemporary.. again - not great quality....

This is the PLUTO parking lot at 8pm. If you are familiar with the parking - as you go left from the overpass where the trams go to the TTC -
Minnie Mouse is the first one on your left - most times you can just walk from this lot, but the tram does stop on the far side - Minnie was semi-full when we arrived - if they would have filled in the empty spaces, I doubt that they would have had to use Goofy at all! Across from that is Chip&Dale - which I believe is all CM parking - then next to Minnie is Goofy - start with row 44 - that's were DD and I parked - when we let I would guess maybe there were cars in 2 or three more rows - across from that to the right is Pluto - this one - EMPTY. None of the other lots (with the exception of Disabled parking) had any cars!!!

Nothing like spring break was last march.

I love the "fam in plastic" pic!
