Evening all

Glad to hear Isabelle's day went well - hope it goes Ok for your parents tomorrow - sure it will. My DD1's did too - still can't believe she has started school - just afternoons this week. She went off merrily with no probs which is good. At her school though they have a policy of no parents going into the classroom with them so you have to say goodbye at the picket fence (area that surrounds the classroom - like a mini yard I guess). All the kids had all their bags (they had to take 3 today!) all kitted up with the stuff they need - poor things!

Diane - I can imagine your frustration - I think some people are so lax at these things. I've got DD1's name down for Rainbows - officially they can start at 5 years but they rarely have places when they turn 5 due to ratios and lack of helpers. I called to ask if she'd moved down the list and the lady said it's amazing how many parents, when called to say their DD has a place, say 'oh she's got in somewhere else or does dancing etc that night"! It's just so inconsiderate.

I still haven't got around to doing some meal reviews - the thing is I didn't take photos this time (only of DD1's pudding at Auberge as I couldn't believe how small the slippers are getting - you could barely see it! Plus her wand has broken - I was v disappointed with it - pure tat this year - honestly £1 shop job with a sticker of Cinderella on the top that you can barely see and sticks out over the edges of the star - not impressed at all) and I can't remember how much things cost so I won't be much use :lmao: I did want to do it as this time I felt the meal reviews were the most useful for our trip but with DD2 playing up so much it wasn't quite relaxed or slow meals so it wasn't that easy to remember to do things! :rolleyes1

Evening Diane

I know the feeling - part of my job is sorting out childcare places for young parents who want to go to College and set up the funding for it. As you can imagine this time of year is when Im busiest.
Every year I get people who change their mind at the last minute after everything has been arranged and Ive spent time running round getting the funding set up. Every year I also get them who are coming to see me at this late stage amazed that there are no nursery places available as they didnt think about it in advance.

Oh I've had that as well, you'd be amazed (actually you wouldn't!) at the amount of phone calls I had last day (during our leaving parties) from parents that realised we were closing for the summer and they hadn't sorted out pre-school places for September.
As I was heading for Disney the day after we finished I had to tell them all that I would be back in touch when we started back, then you would think it was all MY fault!
I've had a couple of enquiries this week, one parent today wants me to be very flexible, if her son has two weeks off holiday (he will be funded) she wants to be able to make up the 10 sessions when he gets back, just bring him in when she wants. Told her I couldn't do that but there were times we could do it for exceptional circumstances, 'I wouldn't tell anyone' she says, I said that if I had 36 parents wanting to do that it would be impossible - she told me my answer would determine whether or not she would send her child to us - I don't think I passed!
I'm sure that a small amount of parents think the more they are given free the more they should have, my eldest is almost 26 and we got no free child care, were offered 3 sessions a week, you took what you were offered, no changes (and you wouldn't dream of saying 'oh they are dancing/swimming that day and I don't want that session I want this' and you paid for every session.
Okay, vent over! I'm calm!!! :thumbsup2

We agreed Isabelle's days before the end of the summer term!

All my parents agreed their sessions before we finished for summer but there are always changes! One parent signed her funding form yesterday and today came and said she wanted to drop a session! So the funding form has to be changed, just a good job I haven't sent the final figures to the council yet!

Glad to hear Isabelle had a good start!

You probably had a lucky escape :rotfl:

You probably had a lucky escape :rotfl:

Sounds awful but I'm hoping so. If she wants to claim her funding with us I have to have his registration details by Thursday otherwise Cheshire East are very funny about us claiming funding if a child isn't registered with us by head count day.
I will be glad when the week is over!

Good evening everyone :wave2:

Anyone got any nice plans for the weekend?

Good evening everyone :wave2:

Anyone got any nice plans for the weekend?

Oh yes, mine involves working the whole weekend (note the sarcasm) before going onto nights on Monday meaning I will have worked 6 days straight come Thursday morning & a minimum of 70 hours:mad:

The good news is that I may have my transfer according to the station secretary but she isn't sure when it will happen but if its true then I have an idea of when it will be & she will have a look into why I keep getting nights and/or weekends:woohoo:

Sarcasm duly noted - and merited I'd say!! Rubbish!! Hope the transfer goes through soon! :thumbsup2
