Good morning everybody - I had a really good night watching green day at the O2 last night.

I'm still quite tired this morning though - I didn't get back home until 2:30 - after the time change :headache:

Morning everyone.

Glad to hear you had a good time at the concert Rob.

I need to check my rota for work to see when i'm off & then my dad can book a days leave at his work. Soon though:thumbsup2

Im not too bad thanks - Im just having a lazy afternoon. Hows work going? Any news on your transfer?

Work is ok, i'm going onto a proper line so I now know my shifts for the next year:goodvibes that is until I get my transfer which they are still trying to chase up:rolleyes:

Just need them to sort out paying me my unsocial hours pay, something they haven't been doing. By the time I get my backpay it will be 6 months worth:yay: although I will lose out as more NI, Tax & pension will be taken:headache:

evening all

i took ash to see up today for the second time. last time she told me 30 minutes in she had an ear ache and i ended up in hospital with her as she got a fever that wouldnt come down. so i was a bit nervous to be honest lol.

she loved it although i think the storyline might be a bit hard for a two year old to follow but she made up what she thought was happening herself lol.

We took DD1 to see UP yesterday Sonya. Tbh she didn't like it - she cried at parts in partic the dogs and Munst who even for an adult were ferocious/scary. It's a shame as it's the first time we've taken her to the cinema so we were hoping she'd love it - she's also a real softy and at one point said 'I want to go home this film is too sad' :sad1: I thought the storyline was lovely but v sad and also too much for a child as you say (I know it's not nec a childs film end of, but even the likes of Toy Story has an adult slant to it but a child can follow it fairly easily). I also thought it v scary in parts - wish I'd known as I think I would have put off taking her. Also, think the 3D spooked her a little as she just couldn't get her head around it - so all in all, not a great trip!! :confused3

Nikki - see you've done day trips before. Can I ask how you got there and how you found it? DH is possibly transfering to London next year which means we'd have a base in London, we will go and visit him and then could get the Eurostar  We'd prob just do day trips though if we did that. At the moment, Eurostar just doesn't work at all for us without stop overs in London which a) add to the cost and b) with a 4 yo and baby just doesn't = happy trip!

I have been by Eurostar once, which suited me as I was on my own & knew what I wanted to do in the short time I was there. The other trips my dad drove there & back in a day, going on Eurotunnel. We were there for opening at 10am & left about 6.30/7pm a the latest. Its not really suitable for someone with a young child to be honest as its a long day but its suits us.

I think this time we will have to be there before opening as my dad wants to go to Salon Mickey as he has never been in there before.

yeah ash just simplified the whole thing in her head. she was telling my mam what happened and i was like huh :lmao: the dogs did scare her too, luckily she laughed her *** off when the ferocious dog had that squeaky voice. i even dont laugh at me shed a teeny tiny tear at one point near the end. when he opened ellies adventure book again :rotfl2: we really enjoyed it but i think the story line was quite confusing. there was a bit too much going on there for small kids. still a lovely film. im glad we saw it. i think ash will much prefer the princess and the frog though.

i think i will take her to see toy story 2 in 3d when it comes out. she loves that and since the early morning tickets are only 4 euros it would be rude not to lol

Nikki - by next year DD2 will be 2 yo and tbh if we are staying in London anyway I think we could manage a Eurostar day trip. DD1 would be no issue - she's as easy going as an old pair of shoes! It's DD2 who tends to be the madam - I think, eventhough it would be a long day for them, they'd manage OK. I guess we'll see. At least going on Eurostar the journey is v straightforward as opposed to flights and then transfers etc which is what we are used to now.

Sonya - I cried too - when Ellie died I was sooo sad :sad2: My 3D glasses almost steamed up :lmao: I loved the storyline - so sweet. Just didn't really think it was a film for very young children which surprised me as I thought it would be being Pixar/Disney.

I too fancy Toy Story 2 in 3D and I know DD1 would love that as she has the DVD. And don't get me started on Princess & the Frog - it has a Princess in so is a MUST for DD1 :rotfl2:

Right, am off to bed, night all!

It driving that makes it a long day. If going direct by Eurostar you only get about 5/6 hours in the park if your lucky. Going indirect will give you longer.

Sadly, I'm also unemployed as of Friday... My contract is up.... :sad1:

Fab news Bob (the house not the job!) - sorry if you've mentioned this before but did you decided to buy or rent? I remember getting the keys to this house, very exciting - enjoy every minute!
Good luck with the job hunt as well.
