OT: NonDis question for SOG users

We interupt our regularly scheduled Disney chat for few a quick questions:

Has anyone here been to the Hale Koa in Hawaii? Do you know if they offer overflow rates to local hotels if they're booked up like SOG does? What about on the other islands?

Our Disney annual pass ends on our next trip to the World, so we're thinking about a beach vacation for the next trip. Hawaii is definitely on our wishlist. (And American Airlines kindly gave us some vouchers for being bumped, so we can put them towards our next trip!)

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Hey Hunzi, funny you should ask that, we've been investigating Hawaii options for next year.

Check out the Hale Koa website at www.halekoa.com .

The do offer other hotel options in the same area ONLY if they are not available but I get the impression from the online form that you do NOT get to choose, you can just opt to have your reservation made at a discount at a nearby hotel if the Hale Koa is full and you pretty much take what you get.
