Can anyone recommend a good "net nanny"- type program?

We will need to install it on two computers. And cheap is good. ;)

I don't care about monitoring amount of time spent, that sort of thing. I just need to have something to block out the "nasties" and to prevent downloads that we haven't approved of. And yes, we do monitor the kids activity ourselves, but you know occasionally I like to go to the bathroom or wash some dishes. :lmao:

Suggestions welcome.

We use McAfee Security Center on our computer. My husband set it up and both kids have their own log-in. The program blocks websites with questionable content - it even blocks the Disboards! If you find that it blocks a site that you think is OK, you can always add it to the "always allow" list. The adults also have a log in to unblock everything. You just have to remember to put one of the kid's accounts back up before leaving the computer. Otherwise an adult account is still active and they can see anything they want. You can also put "usage times" on the accounts. For example, during the summer we let our 12 year old stay on the computer up to 10:30 p.m. When school starts this week, we'll drop it back to 8:30 p.m. Then he'll have 30 minutes until bedtime to wind down.

I know there are lot of programs out there. McAfee is just one of the many!
