OT: MIL hate your kids?

I just have to add here, the silver lining for us is that while the in laws don't especially love the girls, they are completely competent about caring for them. I never worry that they'll get into trouble or get hurt.

Yes, they'll be starved for affection, they'll be served food they hate and ordered to clean their plates, grandma will "lose" the phone so they can't call us to say goodnight, but they're safe and protected, at least.

I actually think I'd have a lot more trouble with a MIL who (and I've read a bunch of stories here) who just doesn't seem to have any clue about how to keep a kid safe....

I have to say that there would be no way that I would go on a Disney vacation and not take both my kids. It would totally ruin my trip because I would spend the whole time feeling guilty. My motto is, if we all cant go then we'll all stay home.

As for the other I know exactly how you feel. My mom is like that with my son too and she adores my daughter. We dont visit very often and they are NOT allowed to stay overnight.
