Good evening everybody
As I've been a bit busy tonight (and therefore not found time to work on my project), I thought I'd report back a little more on my Slovenia trip while I've got some time for anybody who cares to read - those who don't can just ignore this post
I had a wonderful trip - the weather was really nice, though it did rain a couple of days. There was plenty of snow and it was nice and soft as well. We were also lucky enough to have a reasonably large fall of fresh snow on thursday night, so I had the pleasure of snowboarding through fresh powder on friday morning.
I did quite a few things this year that I've never done before - I snowboarded down a (steep) black slope for the first time, which is an achievement and only really leaves one slope in the village for me to attempt which is the world cup run (much steeper again so I'm not ready for it just yet

). I also had an hours session learning to do cross country skiing which was great fun, but very tiring - especially when I tried going up hill. I also had an hours private lession of downhill skiing which was an experience - I enjoyed it but I don't think I'll be hanging up my snowboard any time soon.
We visited the near by town of bled which was very pretty, despite the rain - I also sat down to one of the best cream cakes I've had in a while (and also one of the biggest

).
I also enjoyed a night tasting Slovenian schnapps - I love the occasionaly schnapps, so it was nice to try lots of different flavoured ones. Over the course of the evening I got to try plain, orange, sage, cassia, strawberry, pine, cherry and blueberry flavoured schnapps (plus a second glass of orange). Needless to say I was feeling a little "merry" after, but because the schnapps was all natural, it meant there was no headache in the morning - even after the 9 glasses I had
Everybody else had a great trip as well - mum and DB both took their first ride on the ski lifts, so we all went up to the top of the small slope for the first time which was fun (even if DB insisted on racing to the bottom but wouldn't allow anybody else to win

)
Finally, I took the oppertunity to renew my snowboard, buying a much better board and therefore giving myself a full, spare set of equipment to use on the dry slopes near where I live, rather than ruin my good set.
I'm uploading the pictures as we speak, so I'll update this with a few pictures when they're finished
