My DD5 starts all day kindergarten tomorrow. She attended 4 year old preschool in the same building, but her morning routine will be different this year - thanks to outlandish daycare prices -- but that's another topic...
I dropped off her school supplies today (so she doesn't fall over backwards tomorrow with a heavy backpack). Walking the hallway of the school I felt a little misty-eyed. My first born will be in kindergarten! Wow. I bet I'll be a wreck after getting her going at school tomorrow.
Last year I lost it after putting her on the bus at daycare. She was so excited until she saw the bus pull up. She got scared and didn't want to get on. She had the most frightened little face sitting in the front row of her bus. Man! I still get a little misty eyed just recalling that memory!
Okay - time to stop thinking about this and watch our little Shawn Johnson win some gold!!!
Good luck to all the other mommies out there!

(5 in September) will be starting Kindergarten after Labor Day... and I have been dreading this day for the past two years. She is very excited to go and loved going there to see the classroom and meet the teacher. She is my first and only child, and has been with me since the day she was born..and I'm very nervous. I was a pre-k teacher myself before she was born, and still can't believe that she is now going to leave the nest to "fly solo". I will now be one of those moms who I used to console on the first day.
The good news is she will only be there 1/2 day, so I won't worry or miss her so much. So from one worried mom to all of you others....Good Luck!
But at the beginning of the month she went to 2 weeks of SCAMP and loved it, so I know she will do just fine.
