DD is 9 1/2. We would like to get her a digital camera for X-mas. I am tired of paying to develop pictures she has taken of someone's foot! However, she is not ready for a $300 camera. DH thinks we should just let her use ours. Ours is a really good quality and while she is very responsible, she is still a kid. I just wouldn't trust her with it on a regular basis. Any inexpensive, kid friendly digitals you can suggest? Thanks.

I bough a digital Vivitar camera from a big electronics store called "Fry"..... The camera takes beautiful pictures and was only $ 50 since it was a grand opening sale, normally it runs $100.. wait until "Black Friday" and check the CVS pharmacy add as they always have a very similar (if not the same) digital camera for under $100, I think Walmart might have one also !!! :sunny:

Check out Target!!
They have some good 2 pixal camera!! For under $50.00!!
Just look for one with a viewer!!

I got Dd's there but not being too savvey about digital cameras I didn't get one that you can see your pic as you take them. Hers you have to download them to the computer then delete the ones you don't like!!

I don't think you want to go with a 2.0mp camera. The pictures are just SO blurry. Your daughter would much enjoy a 3.2mp. The pictures will be alot better with that extra bump. The 2.0 might be "cool" for a while, but she will notice and probably not be happy about it. ;)

I think I would look at this one, because its $129 and I noticed in a review someone says they have dropped it 3 times and fallen into a creek with it and its still fine. You wouldn't have to worry too much if it happened to slip from her hands. I dropped my $400+ camera in a parking lot PUDDLE. But, it was ok. If it had been a less hardy camera that might not have been the case.

It also has a video feature.

DH showed me the Vivitar last night at Walmart. We're thinking about getting that one for our DD for Xmas. It costs about $20. I like the price because I won't freak if she breaks it our loses it.

Thanks for all the great ideas. It looks like we will have plenty of choices.
